  1. Track was fine. Harris was passing for fun. My guess is those that said the track was bad were nowhere near Wimborne Road.
  2. Nick Morris was with Josh in the pits and said he is ready to start in the next couple of weeks.
  3. One thing was proved completely tonight. There is nothing wrong with the Poole track, as Chris Harris showed tonight. Made some superb passes and extremely fast. The Wimborne Road Track certainly brings the best out of him. ‘Poor crowd tonight. The effect of the debacle of the Easter meeting, together with footy on tv and a meaningless fixture and that’s the result. A shame as some of the racing was very good, nearly always around Chris Harris. Ipswich led from heat one and were solid as a unit. Gating better and really the meeting should have been out of the Pirates reach before we got to the business end. But Pirates never give up, as Belle Vue found out on Monday. ‘We had to get a result in heat 14 over Harris and Lawson and Holder, after a terrible first heat, went unbeaten. Blasting from the tapes Harris just couldn’t catch him meaning we had a chance in heat 15. With Ipswich winning the toss and choosing 2 and 4, I would have thought we would have had the outside gates in the final heat but again Ipswich had 2 and 4. Ref mistake? Finally the two Poole boys gated and KP packed up after a couple of laps leaving Nicholls and Josh clear to claim the win, the first time we led in the whole meeting. I was surprised Allen didn’t get an extra ride for King, who had some bad luck.
  4. Because 460 Ipswich fans voted on twitter for Harris and Lawson to be in heat 14.
  5. Stop talking rubbish. Pooles track is still way better than Swindon’s Improved track for racing. Yes it’s been poorly prepared but still one of the best tracks in the country when it’s prepared properly. And stop deflecting. This meeting should never have been called off so early.
  6. I just cancelled a week in Italy flying out Sunday and it’s 4 weeks to France. Iffy at best whether I shall go. It’s clean beak and I can feel the two ends of the bone rub together when I move the arm. I am hoping for a rain off.
  7. Watched the heats only, fast forwarded through everything else.
  8. It’s my left collarbone. I can’t change gear. Too much pain to try.
  9. Doubt I can get there. Can’t drive with one arm not working. What an utter cluster f*ck breaking a collarbone is. that will teach me to take up a safer sport. Perhaps cards or monopoly in future!
  10. Not sure I will be there tomorrow. Too much pain and walked to the shop and back was not a good idea. Have to wait and see but doubtful. Nicholls for Brady certainly weakens us. But hopefully we will have enough spare to win.
  11. Cheers. I was due to go on holiday to Italy on Sunday but it’s gone now. Gutted. And have 2 weeks booked 8-22 June in Annecy which is booked and paid for and now unlikely. Could have been worse. The guy I was flying with got a free helicopter ride with broken leg. We hit bad rotor near Lulworth Cove during a longish costal flight along Jurassic coast.
  12. Possibly. But Tungate were mechanical gremlins which should have been avoided and Ellis and Musiliak were actual racing and part of the sport. Swindons reserves are not really scoring, though the effort is there.
  13. Great comeback by Poole. Top of the league!
  14. Just caught up with the meeting as spent most of yesterday in anand e after breaking my collarbone Think last night’s result has shown Swindon to be not as strong as some think. Peterborough would have won that had Tungate been a pro and the ref rerun heat 5. Panthers threw quite a few points away. Didn’t think it was a bad meeting. Just average and the track is better than the old one.
  15. Having now caught up with the heat, I believe it was simply a racing accident with no blame on any rider. Zagar didn’t do anything dirty, just rode out to stop Doyle coming around him. Unfortunately the rider in white was leaning on Doyle and he was the sandwich filling, straightening up and taking himself and the other rider into the fence. Trouble was the bike gave him a big bash. Wishing a speedy recovery.
