  1. Riders from other playoff teams cannot be used......oh hang on a minute.....
  2. Hmmm. The only way a rider can be brought in. Stinks pretty bad. Only important meetings to come and he is out of the team. If Poole had pulled this trick the forum would go into meltdown.
  3. I don’t think you will find anyone, other than starman, perhaps, who doesn’t agree that Belle Vue’s track is the best in the country, if not the world. However, any fans new to the sport since, say, it has been on Sky and BT, would not say Belle Vue are the biggest club in the country. 1. Because they have won nothing in donkeys years. Most fans who remember the halcyon days of BV are old or pushing up daisies. 2. Their crowds have not been very big. However, since moving into the new impressive stadium, there is the opportunity to change things back. Their promotion need to increase attendances one way or another, and of course their team need to start emulating Poole and start winning a lot of titles. Work to do.
  4. Agree. I am actually thinking we could get our backsides spanked on Monday. I will be there as always cheering on the boys but fear we could be ripped a new a$$hole if some of the team don’t come out all guns blazing. Gary May has gone on record saying they are “going to smash us” and I hope we can come out fighting enough to make the second leg more than a formality.
  5. That ain’t going to happen. More likely Klindt, Woryna, Jakobsen and Kurtz. If the league is being dumbed down yet again riders like Nicolai will be the top men.
  6. I really don’t know. A club once big but that is ancient history. Ask a sports fan in the street and Poole would be the first name mentioned, if they knew a team. Our dominance since the start of the millenium speaks for itself. When Belle Vue can come back and win 7 titles and three on the bounce perhaps they could be considered. But as of now there’s only one team and that’s clearly Pirates. Anyone who disputes this is either a troll or deluded. Simple as that really.
  7. AFC Bournemouth are a premier league football club. Forgot about them? Five miles from Wimborne Road. About the same distance STFC is from Blunsdon. A bit different in status though. What have The Robins got to challenge them? As many have said, if the promoters were all like Matt the sport would be thriving in the UK. Easily the best current promoter in the country and has been since the start of the millennium. Sport is for winning. People who say win at all costs mentality is bad clearly support a team with little in the way of trophies in the cabint over the years, as winning is everything in sport. We are lucky to have a combination of Matt and Middlo. They will be a hard act to follow when they go. They have brought great teams, and so many league titles. As for crap racing, it’s not something we suffer down here compared to Blunsdon. Racing is good overall. I know because I watch speedway away from Wimborne Road and there isn’t much on offer that’s better.
  8. Don’t think it will make any difference, as our boys won’t be fast enough.
  9. Think next Monday will mirror tonight if I am honest. Somerset far too strong at home. Easy win tonight without Doyle and not using Holder in heat 15.
  10. They don’t need it. They track is already there and they are altering the shape, not putting in a new track. They are using the pits bend.
  11. OK. What a ridiculous night to run this on. They are going up against Somerset V Poole on BT, the other playoff semi final and a meeting Kings Lynn fans will be interested in. So they run against it. Are there no other dates available?
  12. So it will be shown live rather than delayed Dave?
  13. Need someone in the Swindon area to pop into the stadium late Wednesday and see if the track has been pinned out. Pretty sure this is going to happen.
  14. The only track better than Poole in the top flight is NSS imo. Somersets was good but seems to have gone to the dogs this year. Swindon, Leicester equal bottom. Kings Lynn is gate and go nowdays. Wolverhampton isn’t proper speedway.
  15. He should have replaced Jorgensen. Toft had scored double figures while Jorgensen had struggled. A no brainer swap.
  16. This has nothing to do with Poole’s track, which is far, far superior to Swindons in every aspect. The Poole track was excellent last week after the return of the track man from his holiday. No holes. Great racing and passing. Not like last night at Swindon with once in a blue moon. The Swindon promotion now have a blank sheet to put in a track that can be shaped how they want, within certain limitations. 300 metres is ideal and they could copy the shape of Belle Vue or Scunthorpe or Poole, all proper race tracks. Hope the fans get a track which means overtaking and thrills. Not some follow the leader rubbish like Leicester fans have to endure.
  17. Because its a discussion forum and your post needed responding to. Why on earth would the track shape not be important? It’s absolutely of PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE. What would be the point of the club surviving, only to have a track similar to Leicester? The track is EVERYTHING. The opportunity to put in a great shaped track with racing. Not follow the leader crap Swindon fans hve had to endure week after week.
  18. Why on earth doesn’t he shape it like a smaller version of Belle Vue?
  19. Lynn made a howler in 14 as FB said. Toft should have been in. No brainer.
