Exactly! No rule has changed for non gp riders and clubs can sign who they want with the exception of only one over 8. This is definately the case re: Pooles two signings tomorrow.
-
Please show me the link to the rule that all riders without a 2017 average are to be given new averages. It is already in the public domain that gp riders have been given a 9 point average. So clearly at the same time it would have been announced by the bspa that not just gp riders but all riders without a 2017 average would be re-assessed. But no. Only GP riders are mentioned. There’s a reason for that. Only GP riders are re-assessed. Other riders already have averages which can be used. I would add that riders new to the league like Liecesters Krystian Pieszczek will be assesed.
-
There is no problem. Stevebrum somehow got it into his head that because GP riders have been given a 9 average if they didn’t ride here last season, so has every rider. This is simply not the case and if a rider has an official EL average from 2013 that can be used.
-
Where did you see this rule change? In your head? We couldnt sign either due to the one over 8 rule. Well I guess we will see on the live feed!
-
The league would not have run if those rules hadnt been bought in. Dont blame Poole nothing to do with Matt Ford. Poole had a top rider to bring in but had to change the Of course the rule changes are the same for everybody. Always has been that previous averages have been used and still remains that way. Only GP riders affected who have not ridden uk in 2017.
-
I don’t see it that way at all. Although I do disagree with the one over 8 rule, the other rule has always been that if a rider has a previous average that is used. Been that since I can remember. So we might have a live feed of a load of old blokes chomping away on turkey, pigs in blankets etc for a couple of hours? Lol!
-
I have already told you its only gp riders without an average in 2017. If riders have a previous average riding in the UK it is valid. Its not cheating.
-
Anyone know what time the broadcast starts tomorrow?
-
There are not many “world class” riders available under 8 points. But there are plenty of quality riders.
-
As long as promoters are aware, which they are, then what’s to worry about? Teams are being built or already complete.
-
Very true. The only laughing will be Poole fans as we sail past 50 at Blunsdon.
-
The rules have been made for everyone. What riders other clubs choose to sign is their business. Clearly the way to a successful side is to sign riders who can improve their starting average.
-
Riders who didn't ride here last season have not been re-assessed. Only GP riders who missed 2017 and GP riders new to the UK get a 9.
-
Why on earth would I do that and ruin the whole event?
-
The promoters obviously do as team building is taking place.
-
So in less than 48 hours time the two new Poole riders will be revealed live on Facebook live. Will the forum go into meltdown? How many will accuse Poole of cheating even though they will be within the rules? How many will laugh at the signings and dismiss them as nothing to get excited about? How many will consider what impressive signings they could turn out to be?

Look at all our trophies.
-
I didn’t say it was bottom of the league, just that the touted BV, Rye House and perhaps Somerset if their team comes off, look stronger. Notice I am not mentioning Poole because the hoped for lineup is in doubt and we may find ourselves falling back on journeymen.

Steve0. Swindons Starman.
-
Then why bother to reply. You clearly do and can see my post has merit.
-
I dont believe thats a title defending team. And yes, neither was last years before the changes but the opportunity last year might not show its head in 2018. Where are the riders to win 13 and 15? While I see Morris, Ellis and the reserves improving, Musielak, Bellego and Batchelor are as far as they are going to get, give or take fractions of a point. Belle Vues touted team looks strongish and so do Somerset if they get the team they are going for. Rye look decent as well. Still, lets wait for confirmation.

Really? I had a chat with him at Cardiff and found him to be a great guy. Chatted for a good 20 minutes and he came over as a genuine fan who loves his speedway and is willing to spend money in sponsorship on the top riders to promote Monster. If spending thousands puts you in front of the cameras, then so be it.
-
Need to get a few positive comments going on the bottom of that paper article.
-
Suprised Bellego is back at Swindon. No value in his average. He was struggling in the second half of last season after starting brightly.
-
Certainly would want CH in the team if a deal could be done. Jacks petulance got the better of him and has now bit him on the arse. Matt Ford won’t tolerate insubordination from junior riders let alone riders with years of experience. Not sure will see him back until he has grown up if ever. No Milik wanted a kings ransom, as did Wozniak. Guess they think Polish money is the norm and can expect that rate for their services out of the Polish bubble. Not going to happen at Poole.
