Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17
Steve Shovlar replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Really looking forward to Monday. Being the underdogs takes the pressure completely away. Remember a couple of years ago when we were the favourites and the pressure was intense. This time around there isn't any at all and the lads can go into the meeting with no expectations or weight on their shoulders. Will the burden be too much for this Swindon team who have been thumped quite heavily twice in a row? And in the last meeting Wolves took their foot off the gas. All pressure will be on the Robins. Pirates can go for it free from the extra strain of what being favourites means. Lets send those Swindon fans back to Wiltshire worrying about how they are going to pull back a decent Poole lead. -

Its the vario. The higher the beep the better the lift. Here's a better video. Ringstead Bay in Dorset near Weymouth, three weeks ago. Anyone who wishes to join me is welcome. It's great fun. -

Knock? Seemed ok at Monmore. Would be r/r anyway if a top 5 rider is out. -

Would Kyle take the booking? If he does, and scores well Helping to knock Poole out, he will certainly be less popular with the Poole faithfull. Alternatively, he could be out to seek retribution and this would be an ideal opportunity. Personally if asked, I hope he turns it down. Not worth any ill feeling towards him over just one payday. -
Well I may as well start this one up as everyone else seems shy to do so. Swindon come to Wimborne Road next Monday for the first leg of the playoff semi finals. Live on BT Sports. Swindon have had a record breaking season which saw them string an unbeaten run together which lasted over half the season, sweeping all before them. They have finished top of the league and chose Poole as their easiest route in going through to the final. Some of the Swindon fans can't wait to know how big a lead they will be taking back to the second leg at Blunsdon, such is their confidence. Others have said they are looking forward to smashing Poole in both legs. So do Poole have no chance at all? Will Swindon dominate proceedings at Poole so that the second leg is just a formality? Thoughts?

As a quirk of nature, when days get shorter, due to the axis on the earth we lose light at night slightly faster by a minute than getting light in the mornings.

Llung moaning about his exclusion is ridiculous. He knocked MJJ off, pure and simple. There is not a ref in the workd who would have seen it Llungs way. -

Well done to Smederna! Against the odds in this meeting. The weathers played a big part. -

A 3-3 will do it. Smederna are 5 up. -

Llung has to go. Desperate move there. Shame conditions have played such a big part this evening. -
I rest my case. Gavan you never disappoint. Clearly you didn't "get" that my original post was tongue firmly in cheek with no need for a response. Others "got it" but clearly it sailed way over you head.

Wow. I back Coventry and say I hope Brandon Estates never get planning permission for houses and you take it as some type insult? Weird.
-
Has anyone made the link between Brandon Estates and Sandhu yet? Pretty obvious they are connected. I hope the council point blank refuse Brandon Estates any planning permission. Let them sit on Brandon for a decade or more.

You are completely obsessed with my posts! I can post anything on here and within an hour you will have answered saying the opposite! Completely and utterly obsessed! The man's the complete anti Poole troll and it shows with every post. How we Poole fans laugh at the ridiculous and completely humourless rants. Here's one for you to argue with. It's going to get dark tonight. Argue against that one! I would put money on it you will respond.

I think we have a chance. Swindon are overwhelming favourites but it's possible. Matt needs to organise a good practice session for next Monday afternoon and get the track nice and slick from the start of the meeting. Downside is we or anyone else will have no chance against Wolves on their tricky little track. Too much home advantage.

Just watched the meeting on delay and Roscos face summed it up. He must be a very worried man. Swindon were slaughtered at Rye House, and rather than bounce back, were again taken apart by a Wolves team who threw points away and didn't even bother to put Freddie out in heat 15. Such was their dominance they basically throttled back. Sure Doyle blew the t/r but both Greaves and Howarth hit the deck in scoring positions and if Lindgren had ridden heat 15 if would never have been a 2-4. Swindon fans fancy their chances next week against Poole, with some wondering how much of a lead the Robins will take to Blunsdon. With Poole now riding much better, I think Pirates have it in them to put a decent lead on the plate for the second leg. I saw nothing tonight to have us overly worried. Yes, Doyle could easily go through the card but we have riders capable of beating the rest. Swindon are clear favourites but we can shock the speedway world. Pirates have no chance against Wolves or Belle Vue but it would be a fantastic acheivement to make the final this season and judging how Swindon are riding, completely possible.

I would certainly ask him what went wrong, as I would any of the riders. Perhaps saying lack of effort was wrong wording, but there's a lack of something running through the whole team which was evident watching it. Our riders are better than how they performed on Saturday and questions need to be asked why they performed as they did. Adam has improved considerably this year but in nearly every race was off the pace, as were the others including Lambert who rides in Poland. Why? Hopefully the performance will be disected so that next time the team can do better.
