  1. it benefits them. They are the owners of the lisence regardless of the savecoventry crew. Whatever is raised still ends up with the promotion in a roundabout way.
  2. Looking forward to Saturday. Somehow I have managed to have never been to Rye House, so this will be my first visit. No expectations so I will go with an open mind. Hopefully Poole should have a full 1-7 with Kerr and Shanes riding. Not sure if KK has ever been there or Hans. Rye fans will know. Expecting a Rye House victory but if we can grab a point I would see it as a decent result. I should imagine with Poole in town the place will be rammed. What time should we be there to get a parking space? Thoughts?
  3. I couldn't give two hoots what the score is as long as the riders come through safely for Rye on Saturday. I hope there's several coachloads organised from Coventry though as Poole are doing it for their fans. If they don't turn up in their hundreds it would be a fruitless exercise.
  4. Guess someone could organise a few buckets. But doubt many Poole fans will dig deep to give to Horton.
  5. The last two posters. Don't be ridiculous. No one wanted Coventry to close. Several Coventry fans making the trip is not going to pack the place out. Need hundreds of Coventry fans there.
  6. Nowhere near as good as his brother at the same age.
  7. No idea but it will be a hodge podge of riders from various clubs who signed for Coventry in the close season. If it wasn't in the easter hols we would be lucky to see a thousand there imo.
  8. We will be there. Kyle will be back, Holder will improve as the season goes on. Only team to impress more have been Belle Vue. Haven't seen anyone else better than Poole. An away win, an away draw and a 4 point away defeat without our number one is bloody good. Top two form.
  9. We have this challenge meeting on Wednesday at Wimborne Road. I know the idea is to keep the Coventry name alive but is anyone bothered about this meeting? Its just a filler and I can't believe many fans are going to turn up to watch what is nothing more than a Poole team testing bikes against a select team. Think it needs to be a tenner to get a decent crowd through the turnstiles. Thoughts?
  10. Just got back and a super fightback from Pirates almost saw us take the win, but in the end a draw a fair result imo. Swindon started on fire and were thrashing us out of the starts to be 22 14 up, but then Poole got dialled in and started to pull it back. Knew the 4 points up after heat 13 were not quite enough and feel a big big trick was missed, though to be honest it would have been a suprise had it been attempted. Richings had one ride left and was always going to run a last in heat 14. So why not remove KK who had been slow, and stick Richings in heat 13 with Hans? Then we could have used Klindt alongside Brady in heat 14 and possibly have won the meeting before the last race. Certainly a good chance of a 3-3 with Bellego winning which would given us a two point victory on the night. No good saying Adam came back too early. He is part of the team and needs to come back to get dialled in. Saw him before the meeting and he seemed fine. If a riders says they are fit they can't just be left out as r/r might have got more. We would never see a full 1-7 from any club! Thought Hans was brilliant. Started this season far better than last year. Looks fast and aggressive. KK looks very slow. Needs faster bikes no good being picked off by Bellego. Way too slow. A good result for Pirates but giving away such a big lead cost us the win. We seem to do it every time we go there.
  11. I actually said it will be four points either way and stick to that. Last heat decider?
  12. UK not a priority for Holder. He has said it on numerous occasions on facebook and twitter. Poland first second and third. Only reason he rides UK is a visa so he can be with his son.
  13. No it wasn't. R/r was available. Its easy "to see the bigger picture" when your team is not involved. I congratulated Somerset on their win. I believe Poole would have won comfortably had we a proper number one, even r/r for that matter. An opinion granted and not fact. But it is no different to say, Wolves going to Belle Vue in the playoff final, leading on a 4-2 to win the meeting title by two on agreegate and Woffinden to have an ef on the last bend to gift BV the title. The wider picture would be "justice is done as BV finished top" etc, but as a Wolves fan you feel robbed. Poole fans last night have been quite fair in my opinion. Congratulating Somerset but also aware that a full team would have "probably" have given 4 points to Poole.
  14. Can't let this thread go quiet. With Swindon now at full strength with their 1-7 and Pirates 2 men down, it should in theory be a Swindon victory. Full side, home advantage, what could possibly go wrong? People on here are saying Poole are not a good side this year and have already been turned over by Wolves, Belle Vue and Somerset. So Swindon fans should feel ultra confident that their team will send Pirates home pointless tomorrow evening, without even a bonus point to our name. Or will the Poole from last Saturday turn up and do to Swindon what we did to Leicester? Roll on tomorrow!
  15. Pirates have R/r for Kerr and a 2 pointer for Shanes. JPB? Kerr has been riding well so will be sorely missed tomorrow. In fact he has suprised me greatly and I am sure he will be snaffled up by a club as soon as Kyle comes back into the side. Leicester could replace Gomolski andwould also save money Anyway back to tomorrow. Pirates will be after a win and hopefully will get it. Just need to get Holder riding a bit more consistently. KK and Hans are pretty good around Blunsdon and Brady is riding very well at the moment. Missing Kerr will mean extra rides for Kurtz, Holder and two for Klindt. With a two pointer the other reserve, Klindt is going to get 7 rides. Should be a good meeting on a slick dry track being a 5 pm start. Lots of Poole fans coming up again. Should be a big crowd.
  16. I haven't read any Poole fans not saying well done to Somerset on their win. Everyone has said they deserved the win by beating the team put in front of them. In that respect the Somerset fans went home happy with the win, Poole fans can take heart in the knowledge that a full strength team would have picked up the win. R/R was definately the call to make. Sometimes the wrong decision is made and this was one of them. Anyway onwards and upwards. 4 points at Swindon tomorrow will make up for it.
  17. Woffinden can get stuffed. Time for the British authorities to tell him in no uncertain terms where to go. Jumped up oik.
  18. I said at the time starman that was a foolhardy prediction and so it proved. Somerset on heir own patch are a different team to the one on their travels. They have riders who were there last season and are dialled in. It ws great to see a big crowd like that. Only crowd I have ever seen bigger there is the PL pairs the night before Cardiff and it wasn't much short of that. So many Poole fans in attendance as well which was great to see. End of the day points dropped but it won't hurt us as we will finish at the top end of the table. A full strength Poole team would have walked asay with four points last night and everyone knows that. Nd that's said with no disrespect to Somerset who beat the team put out in front of them last night. Just one of those things when there were no decent quality guests available.
  19. Well a good days racing and two reasonably entertaining meetings between the two teams. Good crowds at both meetings. Weather held out. Poole completely dominant this morning and cruised to a very easy victory. Morris blew his engines and it cost us victory this evening as Garrity proved to be the guest from hell. Well done to him for taking the booking but if you don't have the bikes or ability to score a point pleae say no next time Mr Garrity. Worse than useless. Somerset were gifted a win this evening but they can only beat what is put in front of them. This morning. Morris did OK. Holder still struggling with setups and which lines to ride. Kerr more than did his job. Kurtz excellent Hans throwing it about Klindt good value. Shanes found the going tough This evening. Garrity was crap. Holder struggled but one good ride. Kerr very good value. Brady good but less so as track slickened off Hans brilliant. Klindt good value. Shanes found it very tough. Rightfully top of the league. R/r would have given us the win but those the breaks. Next stop Swindon on Sunday afternoon. Lets go for the 4 points.
  20. Oh dear a Belle Vue fan clearly worried about Poole's strength. Will Belle Vue choke again like last year? Quite possibly.
  21. Far from bitter. I take comfort from the fact we would easily have won with a number one. And every other fan knows it.
