  1. So it gives you a right to bully him, because others do? Like a bloody school playground.
  2. If the place isn't sold out at those prices it never will be. Have a feeling with a capacity of only 10,000 both days will be sold out before the event. Touts at speedway?
  3. Jesus effing Christ. This forum has completely gone to the dogs. Starman defending everything Poole including Matt Fords farts, and Gavan and his band of not very merry honchos in there usual slagging off mode to try and score a few brownie points. For heavens sake give it a bloody rest the lot of you and talk about the blinking speedway. If you are wanting to post about a grammar mistake of Starmans life as a hospital porter or someone's bad eyesight take to the kids section. I know it's winter and not much to discuss but bloody hell some of these threads are beyond banal.
  4. It has to be a sell out at that price on both days. Think i will take the Renault trafic up and kip in the back on the put you up.
  5. So it's £25 to stand which is £12.50 a meeting? Absolute bargain! What is the capacity of this new stadium?
  6. So we have our full side and as yet I haven't seen a team to match our 1-7. Could we smash more records no make it four on the bounce? We certainly have a very good chance. I for one am very happy with the team for 2016.
  7. Great news for Kyle. I mean, the lack of ambition coming from him must have meant a lot of arm twisting by Pila for him to get off his ass and bother to say yes. Thanks for the heads up on tomorrow. I was going along to this.
  8. And that's Pooles fault?😳 If other promoters were on the ball like Matt Ford the sport would be thriving.
  9. I think we can be fairly honest and write Coventry out of the title race next season judging by the 7 they have put together. Woryna a is certainly one for the future but a rider with EL experience was required. Coventry go into 2016 with 4 reserves in their lineup. The two reserves, Garrity and Woryna. Where this team will fail IMO is that when one of the reserves moves up, if indeed they get a high enough average above Garrity and Woryna, they will be replaced by one of those two at reserve, so not making much of a difference. In the case of Poole, when Newman moves up, he will likely be replaced by Kurtz, who with due respect is a rider of higher ability than Garrity. By allowing Garrity into the 1-5 instead of insisting he starts at reserve, the Coventry management made a right faux pas. Still I shall be looking forward to my two trips to Brandon in 2016 for the A and B fixtures.
  10. And just like the Starks they will fail. Matt Ford always pays his depts.
  11. RIP Pete a very sad loss indeed. Remember back to the mid 80's when Pete 'n Merv bought the Wildcats to Poole to save the sport to the town. A really nice guy who will be sadly missed.
  12. The usual moronic suspects have to find a way of blaming something on Poole when its clear to anyone with an ounce if intelligence that the rules are made up by the BSPA and NOT Poole or Matt Ford. If the rules for 2016 are there for all clubs to use, then I am sure if Poole cheated, the remaining clubs would be jumping all over it and the 1-7 would be rejected. The problem is at this moment in time, there is no one better at working within the rules and producing champion winning teams than Matt Ford. And until another promoter comes along to challange Ford, it will remain this way for the foreseeable future. Dont blame Poole for cheating when they are working within the rules, no matter how good or bad the rules are.
  13. A good number one and I am sure he will put his turmoil of 2015 behind him. A very fast rider and one of the top four in the EL in 2016. Can't understand why Some Coventry fans are going on about Larsen. Never done anything much and KK is of a far higher calibre. Looking at the teams so far Coventry seem to be Pooles biggest threat.
  14. They might be thinking if they sponsor this year they might be in with a shout of providing cement and diggers for Ole Olsen Drive! And just the way it should be. 😋
  15. Not sure what things have changed. Poole winning again hasnt changed. Matt and Middlo still running things hasnt changed. New sponsors in Readypower but nothing funny in that. If. Sponsor wants to allow his assets to be usd by the club he is sponsoring it makes complete sense. Doubt too much will change in 2016 either. Really funny that Coventry still bleat about fireworks and cold showers from god knows how long ago on the distant past. Mind you they havent had to much to cheer about since then have they?☺️ As we all know it was to do with that Trump guy, who nearly ended Coventry Speedway the following year. When Swindon won the league at Poole there were certainly champagne and fireworks for the Robins. But 2010 is so yesterday and almost ancient history.
  16. All this desperation over will Garrity ride or not from Coventry fans. He seems tobe over riding all the time and is one bend away from a smash with all those overlocks. Perhaps he should have a word with Newman about how to ride fast AND safe. Cant lnock his enthusiasm though he is a trier even though he goes beyond his abilty on a bike.
  17. Thought equalty came with the points limit. All teams start equal and its for clubs to get the best 7 in that points limit. I certainly wouldnt want Poole to win every meeting at a canter. Every meeting a last heat decider would be great. As long as every heat 15 is a 5-1 to Pirates!
  18. Trouble is Sky didn't bid for the GPs which is a shame. The three years they missed after years of coverage produced a British winner twice. Just think, if they had offered 1/12 of what they paid for screening Stoke v Palace or West Brom V Swansea they could easily have had the 3 year contract for the GPs. One payment equivalent to one Sky football match would change the sport in this country for the better for decades.
  19. Very good news. Bt sport is free for me as i am a Bt broadband user. Pretty sure their overall coverage will be an improvement on Eurosport slash Quest.
  20. Absolute hogwash if anyone wants to believe it. Horton wants Sandhu to sell to him at a price as is, and to forget about the valuation of the land with 250 houses on it. As if Sandhu is going to throw millions away!
  21. I have been watching his progression with interest but not sure he would be ready just yet. Good on big tracks but at Lakeside and Monmore?
  22. Rick Frost is a sponsor and James WADE plays darts!
  23. Can anyone post a few pics of the new track taking shape? Only five months to the start of the 2016 season so the new back straight bogs should have the footings in by now. I hear they are scraping the smelly moldy green gunk off the walls of the old one and plastering in the new ones so the old folks can reminisce.
  24. Athletes and sportsmen in nearly all competitive sports have a certain lifespan at the topbefore old father time catches up with them. Even sports such as snooker, the top stars cant stay there forever. The only othe person I can think of to be around at the top as long as Hancock is Phil "The Power" Taylor, and theres a world of difference in the demands of darts compared to speedway. So how does he do it at 45? We know that as a person gets older self preservation comes into play. By the time riders get to 30-35 they won't take the risks they would have taken ten years earlier, when they thought themselves bullet proof. Add to that the body at 45 is well passed its prime, physically and mentally, then what we have here in Greg Hancock is a real sporting freak of nature. I recall Mauger winning his last title in his late 30's and thought that quite an achievement, but looking at Hancock today, easily rattling off a 21 point maximum proves he is still at the top of the sport. Now here's a thought. Would it be legal for a rider to take prescription drugs, prescribed by a doctor, which would take away all the fear factor of racing? We see other top riders like Crump, Trick, hans Neilsen, even Gollob, all call time on their racing careers much earlier than Greg. How does he possibly keep at the top of the sport?
