  1. Whilst that seems/sounds likely it would be nice to see some of the data actually gathered rather than the usual hearsay. Where the tracks monitored significantly harder on tyres? Have all tracks been visited on multiple occasions? Its likely that a hot dry day with slick surface will give notably different results to a cold damp day with grip in the surface. Just seen the NDL regs and they can use a new tyre and as many used (both edges) as they like so are probably in a stronger position than most CL clubs for once.
  2. Can see the circular argument at P'boro and Scunny but not Glasgow and Belle Vue. Doesn't sound like any considerations to how tracks are prepared has been listed? The tyres won't cook up as much on a deeper surface as they will a slick one so tracks like P'boro can vary greatly depending on preparation. If its being done on safety grounds the all tracks should get two tyres per rider but sounds more like monetary input is having a say on it as usual.
  3. Putting it out there first.....Ridiculous.....what on earth states that those listed 4 tracks are harder on tyres than the others? Any tracl on any day prepared a certain way can rip these new lumps of (insert expletive here) to bits. Sounds to me that there has been an admittance that the untested tyres are not up to task. Always glad to see that the NDL isn't worthy of any inclusion as ever
  4. Creates quite a dynamic but chaotic reserve pairing at Plymouth with Bowtell and Ruddick just as likely to bang in a 5-1 for the Gladiators as a 0-5 against, Luke will also bring some stability to the team rather than the constant booking of guests.
  5. In all fairness they are both prospects but on current form you certainly have to put Leon ahead along with Brennan & Rowe. Hopefully Kemp will have a springboard moment shortly too. Pleased to see Leon taking the bold moves though and committing to higher tiers and Poland also. I feared for a while that he was stagnating but he is really pushing on now. It also means that he doesn't need to keep any reserve energy for the seconds halves and can really give everything to the bandits meetings.
  6. Some refreshing honesty from the Kings stating that targets Kasper & Auty have fallen through. certainly shows they are looking/trying plus also aware that RR does them no favours at all.
  7. Surprised that Flint dropped the NL but i admire his ambition. In hindsight i guess the double headers were probably very draining every week and he has a more focussed aproach this year that is bringing results to go along with his natural talent.
  8. Hurry plus the odd bit fits. Sad thing is that Auty is a bit naff away from Scunny but would still bring another 5-6 points a meeting that could prove very handy.
  9. Worry not Berwick have gone for Kasper not Hans.....to be fair i think Heeps will feature for a while longer and its only Bacon and Hurry that look likely to be replaced? Not sure what the rules are with replacing Hurry and continuing RR for Bacon? I still think Kinsley would benefit from the Number 2 jacket and can't score less than Hurry.
  10. To be fair Sheldon has had opportunities for the past few seasons and sometimes ahead of others more deserving but it just hasn't progressed for him for multiple reasons. Several new signing do the same or better and definitely a positive to see a rider with stronger prospects get the team place.
  11. That would open up a whole can of worms and loops to jump through. Plus im not sure that his 12 from 6 removed would be enough to see him drop back down to a 3.00 so riding order wouldn't change? Plus side is that if all scores apply the his 0 from 4 at Newcastle will help bring it down when the next set comes out.
  12. Fixtures have been out a while, i feel a more accurate translation is "we haven't sold out yet even with the restrictions in place and now going up against the football we are shi77ing bricks" Can't blame them in any way, knowing that you are likely to make a loss is just against any sensible way to run business and will likely prove the right decision in the long term.
  13. Im sure there is a rule that says you cant redeclare the same rider back into a team in the same season unless its an injury replacement. There is a man who will know for sure though...
  14. I can't think of any acceptable reason why you wouldn't be offered a refund if you contact the club and ask. Im getting the sneaky suspicion with Kent marking the next two meetings as OFF, Eastbourne to make an announcement tomorrow that Speedway might go on hold until July. Sad as it sounds theres no point continuing to run if everyone is making losses.
  15. He did and im not sure Len would have been overly happy to receive that phone call but Kelsey was also rattling around at that meeting so the wheels have been in motion a while.
  16. Strange replacement at Kent with Couzins out after just i meeting / 3 rides. Dugard may be carrying a little more form than any of the Kent bottom three performers but i would have expected Jamie's experience to have helped keep his team place and would have looked more of a threat at reserve than Warren.
  17. You would be surprised how many riders would compete for just £10 a point if they knew that is what is on offer across the board. Expenses would be a must though given the current distances between tracks along with some sensible fixture planning so avoid as much midweek as possible. It may mean that some opt out but for the league to sensibly survive semi-amateur is the way forward as a pathway into the sport. Very few riders enter the NL expecting to make money, most are looking at some funds to help cover the losses for a season, if the pay is lower then riders will choose where else to edge out costs. Gate money can come down and just maybe crowds will start creeping up?
  18. A couple of weeks from the first run through of PL fixtures being completed and no confirmation anywhere. That means if it were to run it would have to happen after every remaining home fixture with zero room for cancellations/curfews. Considering the teams haven't been completed as of yet and there would need to be notice given to riders etc its just highly unlikely to happen. Fortunately there will be a nice big brush to sweep it all under the carpet with the blame pointed at riders unwilling to take part or covid or both.
  19. Major problem is that who pays the Newcastle riders. Its uncertain that the meeting would have held up as viable paying just one set of riders plus could have been carnage with desperate riders after team places. Any idea how many tickets had been sold prior to the cancellation?
  20. Alarming for Leicester but suffering for multiple reasons including having a good higher tier team this year along with using a lesser utilised race night doesn't help and the other team racing at the weekend. Also performances have been patchy and historically Leicester fans tend to get behind winning teams in greater numbers. Eastbourne should be on a stronger footing with the regular race night, no CL action until next week to compete with and the local rivals being the visitors. Usually there is some second half action also which might not boost ticket sales it certainly adds to the production as a whole. Maybe the most telling of all is the pricing? Eastbourne £10 Leicester £14...............
  21. Yep we checked with Buster and co and despite teams no longer participating in the NDL or Cl there is only space to join the Premier League. Apart from the usual fees there is a new joiners fee which has just gone up considerably, as you were not running last year you will have last pick of the rising star and indeed can only sign riders once you have all the paperwork (which we will be delaying until we have signed the riders we want first) welcome to the Prem Oxford and good luck
  22. Exciting prospect but only a 10 year lease would cause a few concerns, namely if someone steps in gets it all up and running again there would be limited years left before the plug could be pulled (if of course Speedway still exists in 10 years time)
  23. See where you are coming from now, probably should have re-read it before getting my back up. 1000% agree though. I think Barry, Martin & co would have proved that without shackles you can still run consistently good nights of Speedway in front of happy crowds. It could even pave the way forward for all clubs, offering the chances to run formats that suit the home track and the support rather than the one size fits all approach that is currently forced upon all and is seeing tracks close year on year.
  24. Adam Ellis, BWD...somebody get Len Silver a chair because hits wallets just come over all hot.....with all the double upping and downing there are no real options other than perhaps Hans Andersen or whoever BWD is replacing becomes available but both are still not so cheap so Heeps will stay. Ryan Kinsley would definitely benefit from more Central park laps so i could see him involved but otherwise realistic ideas are thin on the ground.
