  1. Sorry, but I said it before .....but I am going to say it again........ it might be in the rules but its not right. The man has not ridden for a UK team in 10 years and he comes back just for the play offs. Speedway in the UK is certainly at a low to allow this sort of thing to happen - no matter which team is involved. Same with Woffy at Wolverhampton. Same with you get riders whose team is in the palyoffs guesting for other teams that re in the playoffs. Where is the sense in all this. I know not every one will agree with me on these points, but fire away...... water off a ducks back to me.
  2. Been well hot today around Manchester/Cheshire, I wouldnt be surprised if there is dust after a few heats.
  3. Thats really fantastic. Love his speedway bike too. Pity all he has got is the Gents sign, but he has all those memories which are priceless.
  4. Alaska for world championship ice racing maybe. Its not very far off Russia is it. Where did Barry Briggs take his troupe - was it Houston?
  5. commentating, imo, is an art, certainly not as easy as many would think. for those criticising, next time speedway on telly try doing a commentary yourself for 15 to 22 heats and all the in between bits as well. Record it and then play back to yourself, please dont put it on the forum.
  6. Now you know the subject bores you, no need to look again. Simples - just go away See, the point can be put over without foul language. Times may have changed, but it doesnt mean everyone approves it nor accepts it. If you just accept "times have changed" goodness knows what the future is going to bring. I dont think so, not in Tai's case.
  7. I would rather they just stop interviewing him for a few GPs (and any one else that uses same language on camera), they would soon learn, after maybe their sponsors question why their "man" is not fully promoting their product. Then give him a chance to show he learned to clean up, but if he "slips" up during an interview just curtail it. He does seem to have cleaned up since the Cardiff debacle, if he swore on Saturday night at Teterow then I didnt hear it, mainly because I mentally turn off when he being interviewed. A good rider, but I dont like his personality. I wonder if Tai uses that language in front of his partner, or doesny mind others using that language in front of his partner.? If he does object to foul language being used in front of his partner, then why does he think its ok to swear in front of my wife (when she watching). All through the olympics from Rio I watched a lot of the sport, paticularly in the velodrome. All the young Brits being interviewed and I didnt hear any foul words at all - and they were putting in as much effort as speedway riders do.
  8. Better meeting then I expected, as it turned out there were more then a few good races. Disappointed in Zagars form. Zmarzlick needs a "Nicki" doing on him, he can be a dirty rider. I think during the meeting Lindback realised he better get a move on, hes in danger of dropping out the top 8, Nickis gaining on him. Good to see NKI hitting some sort of form, but can he do it at the next GP, then the next then the last one. Very worthy winner in Doyle, and I hope he wins the championship.
  9. I hope the GP Challenge is allocated to Belle Vue. If not the Under 21 WC would be nice at BV
  10. For the 200th GP I would have expected something different then a track in the middle of nowhere that has a reputation of not being a racers track. I have only heard Smolinski say something nice about it, and I suppose he has to.
  11. I watched it on BT Sport 1 last night. Good meeting. Dudek as unbeaten was impressive, but Nicoli Coviatti I thought was particularly good with some aggressive racing, just didnt get enough points. Smolinski did well, just one race let him down badly, but he was coming from the back in couple races. Robert Lambert was gating reasonably well, maybe his engines were not good enough or just the ocassion got to him, but he was the youngest at 18 in the line up.
  12. Pity Hancock and Doyle meet in their first rides. First few heats anywhere dont normally provide the best of races.
  13. One of the benefits of Lambert being a poor gater is that he will learn how to race from the back. If he was a brilliant gater now, where would he get his experience from to come from the back. Hopefully he will get better at his gating, but for now it just might benefit him to learn to race and pass.
  14. Twins obviously - and the parents could'nt tell them apart so gave them the same name.
  15. I was just thinking "its about the time AJ starts moving a bit to get the points or impress for a wild card", seem to do it most years, but after reading about his injuries its not going to happen this year.
  16. Keeping the 3-2-1 points for the GP final gives an incentive for all four to race to the flag. However I do have some support that each of the finalists should gain something over those that have not got to the final, and 3-2-1 doesnt give that.
  17. A computer chip could be used that would vary the timing between the minimum and maximum times. Gets rid of a person being predictable.
  18. Except in those averages - the months of June and July where NKI was top of the list and JD second. Thats ....er....2 months out of 3 NKI ahead of JD
  19. Tend to agree with what you said Gavan. I dont think Emils temperament is a problem. What I DONT see just recently with Emil is a happy chirpy fellow like he used to be. Either he is still carrying an injury or hes not happy with something - maybe that his management have advised him away from the SGP's and he realising he should have been in it over the "missing" years ie 2014-15-16 and possibly 2017..
  20. Either or both of the Lagutas at their very best would be good for the GP's, but they dont seem consistent enough. I know Vaculick has qualified, but hes another one that cant seem to string consistent performances together.
  21. Do they get given their GB race suit, or do they have to pay for them and therefore own them.
  22. Good to see Hampel riding so well. I think Batchelors confidence was wrecked with Darcys accident last year - gone downhill since then.
  23. Obviously your favorite rider Tai Woffinden and B B B B B B Bomber ! What an excellent opportunity
  24. Perhaps TW doesn't doesn't feel there is a need to put the matter to bed once and for all. Perhaps he doesn't give two hoots as to what is being said (over and over again) on a forum. This thread is now on post 673 and, basically, the same things are being said over and over again. its like an old 78rpm record stuck in a grove by a bit of dirt (for younger ones read "an old 45rpm record"-for younger ones still... I'd be surprised if any younger ones on this forum).
