I'm not too sure about this remembering business. Many great riders never became world champion but are well remembered. One or two did become world champion and are largely ignored.

They should make him an offer he can't refuse.

I remember him well from seeing the USSR riders many times back in the day. One of the top men of his generation and sadly now gone.

Out of my reach

This has long been one of the rarest programmes to find and I have never seen a copy for sale. Another rarity and one I am after if anyone has one to sell is the Austrian Grand Prix programme. I assume Austria is rare as few were printed but as for Malmo, I guess owners don't want to sell.

I saw Ivor Brown on numerous occasions way back when and can't say I remember him being dirty. Determined and forceful yes and worth the admission price to see him.

Croatia Slovenia Norway New Zealand Australia Austria I have purchased a large number of programmes over the past 5 months...all World Final, GP and SWC at an average price of £3.00 inc. postage. I would also consider World Team Cup/SWC Finals from Czech, Austria, Germany, Denmark and USA as well as Finals of World Pairs, World U21 Individual and Team, though my average price paid for this type of programme is £2.50 inc. postage. Who are you calling old ..I do remember Bryan Elliott though so maybe I am. Sadly most of the riders I first saw back in the early 60's have either passed away or are in ill health.

I have been watching some excellent Ice Speedway videos on youtube mostly about Franky Zorn and Gunther Bauer. My German is patchy at best but the racing sequences are first class. Bauer looks about 30kg. too heavy to be a motor cycle racer though, but comes across as very likeable.

I dropped off the forum for a couple of months as the back-biting and snide comments became too tiresome. I see little has changed during my absence. Thankfully the well-mannered and interesting people on here make up for it, hence my return .

Like this, like this a lot. A lot of memories for me but Stan Stevens holding off Briggo for 4 laps at Custom House is a strong one.
