  1. The Brummies won full stop, It's a team event and as a team they won, just as when they lose, they lose as a team. This is the lowest level of racing in the UK and there will be falls from time to time, it was an important meeting and understandably everyone was going for it. In the British final there were crashes, no one has seemed to say that was a battle to stay upright. there seems to be just a few reasonable answers on this post and a lot of sour grapes from people who probably weren't there .
  2. yes, the 70's, 80's, 90's and the first 15 years of this century
  3. Funny thing is that Adam, ( and many other riders like him ) should be allowed to get as much track time as possible . How do we expect our young riders to develop with the myriad of petty rules every year?
  4. As ever you manage to get your weekly dig in on Adam, we all know he took Ben's place at Lakeside but you really need to get over it, it's getting tiresome now. Morley broke the tapes in heat one and was pulled back for jumping the start in heat 13. Rose tinted specs indeed
  5. bit of handbags at the end, one way of not running the last two heats i suppose
  6. Well done Brummies, excellent team effort in adapting to what was apparently a difficult track .
  7. Too many crashes, he should be getting the hang of staying on a bit more now
  8. I was at the Birmingham / Buxton match on wednesday last week and they seem to have the same problem, Harvey Banks was being his usual self, i.e. any points he got were gifted etc … Come heat 15 for some reason Adam Ellis came out on his bike ????? As usual it seems he blitzed the heat to win on borrowed machinery , so the question is , bike or rider ?? There's no point in having a fast bike if you're only opening the throttle half way ?
  9. All this talk of saving the younger riders money is false… imagine the following 1, The Gerard engine turns out to be a winner 2, Lots of the top boys buy them ( at the rumoured cost of 5 grand a pop ) 3, The market becomes flooded with tons of secondhand GM's What option do young riders have ? Either stick with the costly to run and maintain GM's or invest 10 grand in two Gerhard engines. ( before anyone starts the "why do they need two bikes" ? Most clubs stipulate the two bike rule in contracts). Also in the event of any blow ups I hope there's a large store of spares going to be available for the inevitable "i need this motor repaired NOW as i have a meeting tomorrow" scenario which happens all the time. Also, Jawa are coming back with a new engine too at the moment, not to mention the new Godden undergoing track testing in Germany this week.
  10. As ever between promoters, there were some dodgy dealings and agreements floating around right up to and including the day of the draft. It's a closed shop and they sort it out amongst themselves, not really caring who they drop in the rubbish. Sadly i've learned this from bitter experience.
  11. How wrong was the ref in heat 2? everyone in the stadium could see Ellis had pipped Morley on the line. That error alone would have given us the draw.
  12. I know someone who's involved with him, and sponsorship is what's needed. Maybe if he'd have played on the French part of his upbringing, promotors would have given him some of the help they seem to throw at foreigners.
  13. 3 of Hawkins 4 points were in heats that only had / finished with 3 riders … What's happened to him this season ?
  14. The elephant in the room is apart from Adam, Tom and Zack the rest of the brumes are sadly lacking, their number 8 should be given a run out at least
  15. no disrespect to Harvey Banks but he's just not good enough, what has Robert Parker ( Brummies number 8) got to do to get a ride ? Kirby needs to up his game big time too, no way is that a big enough lead to take down south. BWD looked awesome, some good rides between him and Ellis
  16. Has MF got a cupboard full of photos of some of the BSPA bigwigs in compromising positions with farmyard animals or something ?? They seem to be unwilling to sanction him on Poole's constant cheating, he must have something over them ?
  17. BJD announcing on Facebook that he's pulling out of speedway for the rest of this year …… well that comeback lasted long ! he really does live his life on social media
  18. yeah, cos in the multi million pound sport that is speedway, this kind of thing is unheard of ?
  19. Congrats Bees, gotta feel sorry for Lakeside though, hope their team spirit can overcome this. Some guys really aren't pulling their weight.
