Harris was grasstracking. He crashed out in practice. So how have Peterborough got a facility? And I assume Harris will be banned.

Peterborough have tweeted twice to tell us of a parade they're giving some old couple for their wedding anniversary but are ignoring tweets about Harris' whereabouts. They just don't get social media, or PR generally in speedway do they? Speedways motto could be, "feck the fans" -
Nothing in the rules allow for "ACU events". Sounds like he's not actually ridden in the grasstrack meeting. Can only assume he's been reminded which sport pays his bills and that he has to get himself to Peterborough.
-
I assume as Chris is off grasstracking rather than doing his paid job for Peterborough he's going to get a ban? Nothing in the rules allowed for a rider to go grasstracking under any circumstances.

And people wonder why the sports a joke. Losing out to guys riding around in a field now. What next? Riding riding cycle speedway? Or playing in the pubs local dominos league?! 🙄 -
"Worthy". The issue here is we all have slightly differing ideas. You could argue that any man (woman or child) who plays the system and wins is worthy. Doesn't make them the best though. We could (probably will) argue his forever but I'd argue that, using the Hans Nielsen going pretty much unbeaten all year for Oxford and not winning the World Title shows that while he clearly had the talent and the mind set for for league racing and was one of the best that year he didn't have the mind-set to win the World Title and do "it" when it mattered. Being World Chanpion to me is about the whole package, not just being able to ride a bike but the technical side and the head game. In fact the head game is far more important IMO. We can talk about greatest evers, we can talk about most talented, we can talk about World Champions. They're all different things. Different things that are strongly linked but there are differences. Leigh Adams was one of the most talented riders, certainly of his generation but Nicki Pedersen who imo isn't "that" talented won titles just down to his mind set. Probably loads of other examples throughout history.

rubbish GP, on a track in a fields. Seriously wondering why Sweden and Poland get two GPs, this place gets a GP but Belle Vue doesn't have a second British GP? As for Woffinden, WTF?! I just don't get him. 11 more points for Dudek (or dropped points for Zagar) and Cooks place is confirmed. Should be sorted by the interval of the next GP.

I guess it doesn't help going from HD tv to YouTube. It's a bit like being in 2005 again! -

Probably watching the meeting on YouTube! Is it just me or is it really poor quality? -

No Aussies In British Speedway 2018
SCB replied to rocketman77's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Mark Blackwell. Believe he and his dad (Rob?) went on to work for Nicki. Mark tried to sign for a PL team but was told because he'd ridden in Denmark he'd have a 9 point average! -
How Many Of Us Have Not Lost Interest?
SCB replied to False dawn's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Lost interest? No way. Annoyed, disillusioned, frustrated? God yes. A good GP is the best sporting entertainment in the World IMO. Will I moan and bitch about it? Yes, because I care. I wish I could just not bother, stop watching, not get annoyed because then my life would be better but I do care and for that reason I'l continue to find fault and suggest alternatives until it's being done right. -

SCB replied to rocketman77's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Just let them keep walking all over us. Brillaint. Adams, Crump and Airey have all retired I'm not sure how they're any more relevant than someone who fought in a war in the 1940s. Grajczonek would be unfortunate but if its the only way of getting rid of his moaning, disruptive countrymen then he has to be he collateral damage. -
No Aussies In British Speedway 2018
SCB replied to rocketman77's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Define, "a lot". You're the 5th person to claim this now. Yet nobody has told what "a lot" is. Ive been thinking. We should ban Germans. After all, we shouldn't forget World wars that happened 70ish years ago! -
Kennett was signed as a 9 point+ man, you can't carry 9 point men. Morley is a 2 point man, you can carry 2 point men. And it's possible given a run that Morley could get his average up to 4-5 given his home form meaning being able to bring in someone stronger.

Hes buggered off. And I don't believe every time the track got a little wet, or grippy, or bumpy that he tried to get meetings ended. -
No Aussies In British Speedway 2018
SCB replied to rocketman77's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Which wars have any current Aussie speedway riders fought in? How are they actually good for British Speedway? I asked this a few posts back and nobody has explained. -
Return to type? 7 to 8 point man? Shocking. Take a look at KKs averages the last 10 or so season, he has good year, bad year, good year, bad year. This year was a bad year, next year he's due a good one. It almost seems to silly to suggest it but it's true. I'll go with KK averaging 8+ in 2018, so on a 6.x average it's a no brainer to have him. Put him with Harris and have them at 1 and 5 and you have a great pairing in heat 13 and 15 too as they work so well together. As for the rest the Rockets have a few decent choices, I'm no Kennett fan but on that average, as 3rd heat leader/second string around Rye House, well you can't say no can you? Nicholls? Well you know what you're getting, it's not an average increase but it's 100% effort and a great captain/man in the pits. A guy who has been there and done it. Robbo is the odd one, well liked but really not a very good signing as he's going one way and theres plenty of better options but do you really get rid of a guy who is so well loved and is almost Mr Rye House. Barker and Wells are rider you have back if they fit, personally wouldn't pick either as first choice.

No Aussies In British Speedway 2018
SCB replied to rocketman77's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I'm not too worried about criticising the sport, if it's fair and constructive and if we banned everyone who "slagged off" British Speedway every member of the BSF would be banned. But I'd prefer to see it as, who is it gets meetings called off most? If I asked you to name the top 10 riders who are likely to get a meeting called off? Be full of Aussies. So I'd happy get rid. Who would we actually miss? Such as? I love the blanket, "all that they have done" line that people come out with, but never actual quantifiable examples of things they have done. -

Your point is that a points limit, limits who you can sign (correct point) but also assumes that no limit saves money. Lets assume we have a points limit, I have 2 team places, I am the last club with any team places, I have 13 points to play with. I can sign any combo of 11+2, a 10+3, 9+4, 8+5, 7+6 plus nothing to stop me signing 10+2, 9+2, 8+2 etc. There are loads of combos. Now lets assume it's a free for all. I have the last 2 places. The two 10 point men know I need them so can ask whatever the hell they like. How has anything changed? Except now Team A has built to 55 points and Team B have built to 35 points meaning Team A are going to beta Team B about 65-25 home and away. Without a point limit you end up with complete mis-matches and fans won't stand for that, they'll stop going. Two things that absolutely should NOT be scrapped. The points limit (open to debate if you think it should be higher or lower. I think slightly below break even personally) and the league points for a meeting (again, open to debate if you should get all 3 points if you win at home by 1-6. Personally I'd go back to the original 2 points for a home win, a 3rd point if you win by 6 or more) as it makes most heat 15's matter. If I asked you to name the top 10 moaners and causes of meetings being postponed there would be a heavy bias towards GP riders and Australians. I can't think of one that isn't one or the other, Sam Master maybe? But the rest? Either a PITA or frankly no loss if they're not here. Obviously I can't ban Aussies, it has to be a "work permit" thing, which will effect nobody else AFAIK, Wilson-Dean has a British mum(if its not his mum its someone), Wells has residency, can't think of anyone else who would even be remotely effected. Lets see the Aussies crack on then. They can show us how it's done! -

Erm, you are aware of you have 10 points you can still sign a 3 pointer so your belief only one rider fits is massively wrong. The points limit is one of the best things about speedway. -

Why don't we for once listen to the fans and do what suits them and not the bloody riders?! Frankly, I'd ban GP riders and increase work permit guidelines so you need to have a 9 point Championship or an 8 point Premiership average. -
Wolves - Swindon Followed By Wolves - Kings Lynn 4.9.17
SCB replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
People suggesting the Swindon bubble has burst are getting a bit excited. They lost by 14 at a track Bellego was shocking on earlier in the season from memory, he should be good for 3 or 4 more elsewhere. Plus they had no reserve, you have to fancy BWD is good for 5 or 6 at reserve. Suddenly their 38 point totally is nearer the mid-40s. And how often does Doyle only score 7? If I was a Swindon fan I'd be quite content right now. Scored 38 at a track that's never been their favourite with a couple of rides having bad days an a couple of others missing. Wolves will obviously also be happy. You can't do much more than win meetings and Howarth aside they rode well. -

normally I'd agree but Swindon are not getting a point tonight and Wolves have another meeting after this. -
He has to ride in Poland because of the international fixture list. He ride on a British ACU license.
