  1. 1)In the 1970s. 40 years ago! Hard anfrewt example do modern day speedway2) he started after he was 20 so obviously that would be the case. 3) Craig Cook would be a better example but again he started later. Mocks me for knowing nothing then refers to Ben Hopewood as a "kid", he's 25 FFS. Even Coles is 22. They're not kids and are last the stage of ever realistically making it. From time to time someone might come from nowhere later on but it's rare.
  2. Surely this is exactly the place to post it. Especially after your claims.
  3. Read all about the great racing in this meeting, then watched the selected heat on the BSPA site. Either they're trying to make the fans look stupid, make Leicester look like a terrible track, the fans are lying or the BSPA picked a weird heat to show off the meeting/sport
  4. By my reckoning Dudek only needs to average 5 points a GP to make top 8 in reality. He couldn't have that done by the interval in two GPs time. I think we all knows it's highly likely but people are right, it only takes a nasty injury to Dudek now and he could miss the end of the season. That said, is Dudek does get injured, Cook will get a wildcard now.
  5. Well done Craig. Just need or 3 more good GPs from Dudek to seal top 8 now. Just a formality. Well Done Craig
  6. No disrespect to some of them riders, they're ok but they're nothing special. Wajtknecht will be 20 when next season starts and he's done nothing brilliant yet. Poland have probably got a dozen riders better. Connor Moutain, 20 this week and what's he actually done? Parkinson Blackburn has failed badly this year. It might be the making of him, I've always said a tough year early in teaches riders to fail and they need a bit more than natural talent. Alfie Bowtell? 21 start of next season, bit part NL rider. If you haven't made it to PL second string by 20 hen you're never going to make it. Realistically you need to be heatleader by then. We do have some great kids, Bickley, Bewley, Jenkins and Brennan look like being capable of being the real deal. But there's a little bit of getting over excited by some riders. They may go on to be decent league riders but anyone still riding/eligible for NL at 21 is NOT going to "make it" if making it is being SWC level. At U15 level we potentially have a few diamonds.
  7. The ban starts from the day of the offence and he has 60 days form the date of the hearing to pay the fine. if the fine is not paid within 60 then the ban starts from the day the fine is paid.
  8. TBF Bewley aside you team has under performed compared to what most seem to think. When I said in Feb/March you had a bang average team with the exception of Bewley you all got on my back. Looking at the stats now you have a bang average team except Bewley. They're all basically maintained their averages, theres a tiny little bit of improvement in a few of them but in a 40 point league you'd expect a little bit of improvement. Honestly not sure what Glasgow fans expected. The top 3 have all been around a long time now and are what they are. Tom Perry the same. Jack Smith was a 6.5 NL man last year so a lot was expected of him. Luna, fair enough some of you guys up there rate him. For a club that is throwing cash around Glasgow signed a very, IMO, uninspiring team that was always going to do well but not actually be great. It was a pretty safe team selection.
  9. When Coventry sign half their 2011 team and they changed the rules to screw the club I seem to remember a number of Poole fans claiming it was foolish to sign riders before the AGM. I hope Poole get idioted over. As for Woryna, he's got his wish. I just wish he'd never signed for Coventry int he first place. I'll never forgive him for signing and giving an interview in the Speedway Star waxing lyrical about Poole - still, it meant Havvy had someone to get excited about in the pits with when Poole were doing well.
  10. Imagine being banned for bringing sport into disrepute, not turning up to the hearing and then slagging off the sport and saying you're going to appeal. 1. He has continued to bring the sport into disrepute. 2. If he couldn't be bothered to turn up to the hearing an appeal is gong to laugh at him The guy is mad. I'll laugh when they extend his ban.
  11. Why is this so hard to grasp?! Thy suspended him pending and investigation. They investigated and decided to fine and ban him. Go in to work tomorrow and walk out before lunch saying you'll be back tomorrow. He same will happen to you, you'll be suspended pending a disiplinary hearing where you could potentially be sacked. The SCB followed guidelines here and acted in the correct and professional manner. It just happens to have been the case that in the middle of it, Kings Lynn sacked him.
  12. Buster is BSPA chairman, he has no power over who the SCB suspend or ban. The only control he had was to sack Holder and plenty of riders have been sacked over the years fo ding nothing wrong.
  13. I remember years back calling Freddie dirty and being told by a Wolves fan he was just "young and keen", he's never changed. 90% of the time he'd just hard but he misjudges it too often.
  14. Last time there was a GP qualifier in Russia the meeting ended up being about 50% Russian. I get it's a World Championship but you can't have it in countries that riders can't get themselves or equipment to in reasonable time.
  15. So what he should have done then is wait for a rider to have a good ride before using them on a TR? But if a rider has a good ride you can only longer use a TR as you're not losing by enough. It's stupid to wait. At worst the TR was vs Bewley and would have got double 2. The idea of waiting is flawed unless there a very obvious rider to use or not do it against. The make up of the Leicester and Somerset teams means any rider can come first or last at any time.
  16. He would have had a doctors note. I queried this in the past and was told he riders get signed off. Tbh, I think any reasonable person fully understands this.
  17. Lynch costing Leicester another win. He really is a special kind of rubbish at this managing lark.
  18. How many times, it doesn't matter. The rules don't allow a rider to miss a meeting, even with permission.
  19. The rules state that a team MUST use their top 4. Peterborough were promoting Jack Holder would be in the event. So why didn't he ride? He broke the rules that says, "Failure to attend, withdrawing (or threatening to withdraw) from a Meeting duly listed on the Official Fixture List:..." He also missed a league meeting this week and will apparently miss one in the next few weeks at Scunthorpe.
  20. TBF, the GTR was never about winning titles. It was meant to be a low maintenance, cheap to run league machine.
  21. If we did ban Aussies, just how many of them would make it? The ones already established won't care but how many of the future Aussies would get anywhere? They might get a few riders in Denmark but then what?
  22. Rider who only ride in Britain can double up. Anyone riding in Poland, Sweden, Denmark or Germany can't double up. Miss a meeting that a club isn't allowed a facility for and you're not allowed to double up any more.
  23. Crump, Gollob and Rickardsson are all retired. But if you can find a time machine to bring them back from 99-2009 then please do! Otherwise we can only compare todays riders with what else is out there today and TBH, the GP series is pretty spot on. For me Nicki and/or Puk depending on who makes top 8 and through the GP qualifier. Puks not having a great year but do you honestly think when he's up at tapes, "well this is a last"? You don't, he can still win any race.
