  1. My sister has exactly that clause in her work contract. Im sure plenty of others do too. It makes sense, stops riders taking the piss and picking and choosing meetings.
  2. Actually, it was used all the time in the 90s and into the early 00s, certainly was being used in 2003. Youre right, he did. I forgot about the Premiership Pairs.
  3. Fines go to the Speedway Riders Benevolence Fund, not the BSPA. Also a BSPA vice-chairman cant know what punishment the SCB will hand out. More fool Ged for trusting him.
  4. Must have some special dispensation as hes not done any shared events in 2017.
  5. No promoter will take it to court because they all long for the day they sign a rider for nothing and he becomes and star. No rider will take it to court because no promoter will allow him to. The asset system is going nowhere.
  6. But if youre going to have promotion and relegation meetings you cant let clubs relegate/promote themselves in a whim.
  7. It is a mockery. They could just choose to drop down and back up again. Maybe Manchester United could ask for a season in league two and then pop back to the Premiership when they fancy it. Lakeside quit the EL. Yet can move back up. What a joke.
  8. Speedway, start a meeting in the rain. Call it off because it's raining. What a bunch of money grabbing, thieving bastards.
  9. Someone else trying to re-invest the wheel when in reality you just need to fix the puncture. Many small tweaks are needed, not any big changes. The level of the league is irrelevant as long as you have 3 leagues of varying levels. Doubling up can't be arbitrary averages, 17 year old Brit averages 4.51 he cant double up, 40 year old Aussie average 4.49 and he can, shocker of an idea. Would much rather than all riders can double up for 2 seasons as was introduced 2 seasons ago - meaning next seasons lots of riders will have to make a choice (or they'll drop the rule more likely) The sports issue are not riders too good/bad, not too many/not enough teams in the league. It's how meetings are promoted and run. What do we gain from a 12 team league? Nothing, we just make the other leagues smaller and thats a negative as then theres not enough teams in them.
  10. One that was given a bung over over 40k from the Poles?!
  11. The muppet in charge if the BSPA says he wants a simpler rule book. Then he lets rules get ignored. WE DON'T WANT A SIMPLER RULE BOOK, WE WANT THE ONE WE HAVE ADHERED TO!
  12. Speedway fans are a funny bunch. Moan all year riders take the piss, the BSPA act and you all moan! The ban is correct, it's in the rules and the rule is right. What is wrong is hat the same rules don't apply to Premiership and Championship riders.
  13. Havent people been doing that for years now with speedway in general?
  14. Lemo is tactically inept but then so are 80% of managers. He cost BV when he didn't appeal Newmans lack of goggles, he could have cost them when Swindon didn't give a rider a 3rd ride, he cost them vs Wolves recently using the R/R riders in the wrong order. He makes lots of fundamental errors and missing out on the obvious quite a lot. But then if he's great in the pits and the riders like him, he may be worth 4 or 5 points more than most other managers, it's hard to argue with runners up twice and play-offs 3 times.
  15. It only takes for one of the Wolves top 3 to have an off day and Swindon will be in there. Realistically Wolves will probably win it by about heat 13 without ever really being under threat but are you telling me if Bomber misses the start in heat 1 and Swindon get a 5-1 and then Bomber spends the rest of the meeting struggling that it's not possible for Swindon to win this? Whats BWD like at Wolves? I remember him having a great meeting at Rye House so he can certainly ride smaller tracks.
  16. I think Gemini is right then, as I could have sworn it wasn't that long ago it was just on the way to tapes!
  17. Yikkees, how long did that rule exist? Because I'm certain it was always "on the way to tapes"
  18. Been this way for ages, certainly as long as I remember. GP you have to be ready to race. It's why there was so much uproar for the Coventry/Swindon meeting on SKy a couple of years ago where half the Swindon team were excluded on two minutes!
  19. Bradford won the 1997 EL and didn't compete in 1998 (or any time since)
  20. This often comes up. No, theres not. It's perfectly reasonable to put an exclusivity clause in a contract. Many people do it. In fact I bet your contract of employment has one.
  21. Heat 3 was called back becuase a Wolves rider was rolling (but at the back) yet heat 4 wasnt pulled back despite the Wolves rider jumping and leading? Also agree that Carr should have been excluded in heat 2. 4 heats in, 3 decisions to make and Turnbull has got them all wrong.
  22. Roscos just been on the news and explained how to win theyre going to score lots of points tonight. Glad he explained that
  23. So we have a promotion/relegation meeting between two teams int he Premiership and Championship but last week lowly NL Lakeside announced they're intending to just promote themselves two league to the Premiership having relegated themselves two leagues this year? Right oh, thats seems fair, sensible and logical. Meanwhile Damien Bates' two teams will race each other, thats his two teams that share 2 of their 7 riders. So one team will use R/R for a rider who is riding against them. I'm not sure whats worse, this joke of a meeting or Lakeside just doing whatever they please. For feck sake
