Lakeside V Leicester Elite League 27.03.15
SCB replied to barrow boy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The PL have had first priority over the NL and the EL for years. Funny how when the boots on the other foot the PL fans get upset. Your issue here is with Len and his being to soft. -
Official Averages - Nothing On Bspa Site?
SCB replied to krompa's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I would expect them to appear on there any time soon, the PL already has their first set on the BSPA site. -
Coventry Bees V Wolves Friday 27th March
SCB replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You CANNOT have a guest for an assessed rider who has not yet rode for you. You can, with MC permission use R/R. edit - reading the rules, they have changed, looks like you can use a guest. -
You know what, it would well have been 46-44. I was going from memory. I know Chris Neath was MOM and the Glasgow promotion refused to let him receive his award on the centre green or for Newport to have a victory parade.
-
They won at Glasgow 47-43 and Chris Neath scored about 16 points. 15 years ago and I still remember pointless crap like this! As for the second part of the question. They won on the Isle of Wight in the PT.

Because all rider are paid £10 a point (ok, we know they're not but they should be)

King's Lynn V Poole, Elite Shield, 26/03/15
SCB replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Adam Ellis rides for Lakeside in reserve so it on the list. -
Surely as it's an open meeting, the organisers can invite any pairings they like, 2 season ago Matej Zagar rode for the Czech Republic didn't he? So why not just have a "Lions" pair of Woffy and Harris?
-
Also, loving the fact Eastbourne fans seem to be embracing their tracks unique technical nature. Normally you tell someone on here their track is a trick track, or technical or have hoe advantage and they fly off the handle.

Rob Lambert Our Next British Hope?
SCB replied to sommelier's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
British born, moved to Aus as a youngster (notice history repeating itself!), just signed for Scunthorpe in the PL and Cradley in the NL. Very good according to reports, scored a paid max against Birmingham last week. -
Rob Lambert Our Next British Hope?
SCB replied to sommelier's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
What I would question is why someone with an huge Aussie flag on his kevlars is likely to be out next big thing though. Surely he's Australias next big thing? -

TBF, what you're saying there is you cannot call someone the next big thing until they are the big thing, in which case they're not the next big thing if that makes any sense. The whole "next big thing" thing is that you're predicting who will be good. -
Coventry Bees V Wolves Friday 27th March
SCB replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What a bloody joke. Riders shouldn't be allowed to chose. There are rules that dictate how it works. EL club gets priority if rider is owned by EL or NL club but PL club get priority if he's owned by a PL club. -
But did West Aukland turn up to a 5-a-side game without their star player?

Peterborough V Somerset Plc Sunday 22nd March
SCB replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
They're different. But I'm not sure why it matters. We were told Adam had to buy new Kevlars but Peterborough seem to have provided a set, with Adams name on, to Palm Toft. so if we all buy Adam a new set of kevlars there a random pair hanging around somewhere doing what exactly? -
Fair play. Even if this deal is only worth £2.50 (and I'm guessing it's not), it will only attract more big names. The usual sponsor of "Kens Chip Shop" is hardly going to make Vodafone, Ford and Pepsi think the sport is worth sponsoring but seeing "sponsors by Peugeot" will make them other big names want a slice of the pie too.

I don't know, the rulebook maybe? "Cat 4: Riders who have ridden in the National Development League as an Amateur" - obviously, any rider who doesn't consider himself to have ridden "as an Amateur" is welcome to sign for a PL team on a 5 rather than a 3 as the rules state. I'd also argue they fit the following definition, "2. Sports An athlete who has never accepted money, or who accepts money under restrictions specified by a regulatory body, for participating in a competition."
-
Or you have to accept the PL do as they bloody well wish and have done for a long time where doubling up works. Yet they got a bit arsey this winter when the EL/PL doubling up priority rules were changed! Seems the PL fans to have their cake and eat it (that's a stupid saying as if I had cake I'd want to eat it too)

Not really. We're being asked to fork out for kevlars for Adam but Peterborough Speedway have a set with his name on. Why can't he just used them?! -

Plot twist - https://www.flickr.com/photos/the_womble/16298883924/in/set-72157649225087513 (they say Roynon on the back for those to lazy to click) -
Isn't that life at any age, sadly?

No, it shows lots of people are disagreed with the 2 or 3 Eastbourne fans who have delusions of grandeur. It's not at Eastbourne thing, it's nothing to do with what club it is. It's discussion/debate (even arguing if you prefer) about the good and bad points of a team make up. You'd probably find that if 2 or 3 Coventry fans posted that the Storm were going to average 50 points combined, beat everyone at home, everyone, even the highly rated riders will struggle at Brandon then a few people would point out, that's not going to happen in the real World. It's probably fair to say that most people will be impressed by what Martin and Connor are doing at Eastbourne, it's hard not to be. In that respect I hope it's a huge success as they're clearly giving it a bloody good go!

I'm loving the logic of, "We will be good, you can't say we'll be bad because you don't know because we've not raced yet". Well actually, just over half your teams has raced in league speedway previously and one of your reserves has competed against some of the other NL riders at U15 level so people do have some idea of how good (or not) they are. It's not like they have all just jumped off a plane from a far away land and nobody has any idea how good they are.
