Doesn't he look like that on most tracks?!
-
Sorry to hear this. Michael was the first non-Newport rider I was a proper fan off. General when a rider come to Newport and scored lots of pointed I disliked them for it (teenage logic!) but I took to Michael and I think it's fair to say many people all over the country did. I remember in about 2007 going to Birmingham vs Glasgow where Mike was Glasgows reserve and saying to my mate before the meeting it just seemed so wrong to see a guy who had for years been such a thorn in every PLs side for years down in reserve - it was made all the worse by him failing to score that day. Quite sad to think he's ended up how he has. We all remember (for the wrong reasons) the Garry Steads and Lol Hares but there probably another few Mike Coles' out there, speedway rider who have give their health and future for the sport.

I don't care what an article says. The rules say he is NOT 4.92. He is 5.20x1.4
-
But it's not about the people. It's about networking and the press and whats best for them. The fans will see the team at meetings. This is NOT about the fans.

Coventry V Leicester 20 March Emb 2nd Leg
SCB replied to TMW's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Imagine Coventry had a rider capable of scoring 6-7 points that a 6.5 gap should be scoring. -
No.7.28. Rider either come in on last seasons PL average, last seasons EL average converted, or an assessed average. He has no PL average so you move on to the converted EL average which is 7.28
-
You might want to get someone to check that the latest signing is legal!
-
Erm, yeah, try again! MPT averaged 5.20 in the EL. 5.20 multiplied by 1.4 is 7.28 which is more than Peterborough have to play with. Under last years rules, he would have dropped back down on his old PL average.

Where the hell is this statement? It's a week late now. #DarcyIsAJoke
-
Not so. From May 1st average used 20 meetings and not 28. If you did last 20 meetings now, Roynon would be 4.25 and Lambert would be 4.40. Only needs a couple of decent meetings from Lambert to go over the 4.66 needed.

1. Since when did being good be important when deciding if you liked a rider? I've liked many riders who were never going even get a sniff of a GP place. 2. He's 32 - if thats well past 30, and 30 is considered over the hill then I'm off to find a rope! 3. If he's not cheap then he's doing something right as he's never been unemployed in British Speedway has he? Make hay while the sun shines and all that.

TBF, I would expect the speedway rider to have the edge. But the cyclists times are alot closer to the World Record than the lakeside heat times are to the track record to help make up for the tighter track. The point is, half the distance, I'd fancy myself to beat a speedway rider if I'm honest
-
Doesn't shock me in the slightest. Looking at the times that cyclists do around a 250 metre velodrome and compare it to that of a speedway rider on a similar sized track. The mens World record over 4 laps is 56 seconds. To give some comparison, Lakeside at 256m is the closest in track size (the speedway race there is 24m further) and the track record is 56.8 vs 56.3. Which in theory means if you were to put them on track together, you'd get a good race!!

Coventry V Leicester 20 March Emb 2nd Leg
SCB replied to TMW's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Jamrog is key. Assuming he scores 0 I'll go with a draw, so for every point he scores that will be 2 points added to the difference. So we need him to score about 18 to win on aggregate -
Rob Lambert Our Next British Hope?
SCB replied to sommelier's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I can just see that when he turns up at the German passport office, "So Mr Lambert, what connection do you have to Germany that make you eligible for a German passport?" "Well I've ridden a speedway bike here about 50 times over the last 2 years" and he'll be laughed out of the passport office. You need a bit more than to have "ridden there for two years" to get a passport for a country!! -

So they had talks, and he rode. Suggests any issues there may have been were solved. Serially how many people change Nationality, to a Nation that they don't live in and have not connection to? He's not going to become German. -

Being German is not an option He's not German FFS, he just rode over there out of convenience/the level he could compete at at 15. He HAS raced for GB in the Under 21 World Cup last season. Those wanting to put him in the senior GB team are seriously over estimating! When he's ready I'm sure he'll be picked for Team GB - you never know, it may be this summer. -
Simple enough, if you want to help you can. If not don't. I won't be personally as I don't donate to speedway equipment costs out of principal but I see no issue with asking as many people are happy to help out - good for them
-
So we have GBs 3rd best team riding in the Champions League with a random guest who doesn't even ride in Britains in place of their usual number 1 who is riding for the opposition. I will admit they do have a nice trophy but still......

What is it about highly rated youngsters signing for Pole and then hitting the bottle? -
After all the hyping up of the meeting Matt did last year and the year before, how odd. And to prove what a joke it is, the UK places has not even been offered to 2nd place Coventry!

Najjer doesn't claim to have "knowledge". Thats why he's asking questions. Ask questions and you gain knowledge and it makes you a better person. Or you can sit there and idly accept whatever info you're fed and never better yourself.

Thanks - again, makes some sense and probably explains Ty Proctors situation.

Put a helmet on and go and bang your head on a brick wall. Now do the same but rather than on a brick wall use a spike. See how effective the helmet is now! the go-pro is in effect that spike. anything that exerts the pressure on a smaller area is going to be a danger. It makes sense to ban them from a safety POV, it's nothing to being kill joys stopping coverage or even them being caught.

Darcy has probably got dibs on it already then!
