  1. Brendon will be lucky to ever have a season in the PL tbh. The EL is way beyond him.
  2. Will be a blow if Tabaka is out for too long then as his average is only 5.11 so will be guests for him.
  3. TBF, Shefield are going to win nothing. The noly thing they can do now is win at home, Adam in the 1-5 with Facundo in reserve should mean as close to certain home wins as Sheffield can get.
  4. Relatively I'd guess a lot more. Longtrack takes place how often? 2 or 3 times a month? On average you get more speedway meetings in a day than that so if you're comparing the two, you have to compare a year of longtrack to about 4 weeks of speedway.
  5. I've heard suggestions that there may be an American GP that ties in with the GP boys travelling back form New Zealand. I juts hope it's only a week apart and not 2 weeks or it could mess up the EL for the best part of 3 weeks.
  6. Need moeny for air fences? Has anyone tried looking onto this? http://www.sportengl...red-facilities/ Somewhere like Redcar that runs training/practice days ticks the box for involving people in sport, so why not give it a go? While they're at it, they could get a few £££ to buy some bikes for people to learn/practice on.
  7. I hope it's Adam. Just 4 or 5 from him would be better than they're getting now fro Jake Knight and would allow him time to get back into things at his won pace while anywhere else he may be needed to score 7-10 straight away.
  8. I would imagine if a club could get a set up like Scunny (training track, track access 24/7/365 and amateur meetings) and then got a tie in with the Jan O Pedersen type apprenticeship thing they may be able to get a bit of cash. But too many will say, "we can't get the cash, no point" rather than, "what needs to be done to get the cash"
  9. consider my wrists slapped for jumping to conclusions
  10. It'd be better than the current, "speedway is everything to everyone"
  11. Are you disrespecting the World famous Cardiff Chippy Alley?!
  12. Usual treatment? You mean sticking to the rules? You don't get a reduction for retiring. It's either injured for 12 months (sometimes they're lenient on that one by a few weeks) or you miss 3 season, Andre has missed 2.5 seasons. Plus I thought he looked good and was Glasgows saviors, so a 6 point average should be no problem.
  13. But under 25 have no jobs and pensioners "earnings" are increasing at a greater rate (see this link or this link) than anyone elses. When all the OAPs die int he next 20 years then what? there will be half a dozen fans left watching speedway and 5 of them will be OAPs themselves.
  14. And how do you make it cool? Stop letting OAPs in for a concessionary rate and cluttering up the place and offer that rate to 15-25 years olds (the "cool" people), get rid of the presenters in their 60s and bring in more younger cooler people. Realise that hits of the 90s is not modernising speedway, it's still 20 years out of date. THEN and only then you mght start attracting a younger crowd but while you've still got 60 year old presenters playing musics from the 60s and 70s you're only going to attract people in their 50s and 60s.
  15. 1. Only the ref can call it off 2hours before start time or later. 2. Somersetbhad nothing to gain having it called off. Seems like it was an unfortunate mess up.
  16. So if you have number 7 on your back it's easier to beat Holder (twice) and Lindgren than doing it at number 1? He might be at number 7 but the only easier ride that gives him is heat 2, he's averaging 8 at Lynn and has beat Sweden and Australias number 1 riders there. His average with bonus points in the EL is 7. He's within half a point of Barker, Kind and Kennett. He's ahead of Harris using last 6 meetings but he's young and improving at a great rate, next year he shuild be where Cook is now and the year after that Worrall and Cook should be 2 certs with Woffy. To me, is Harris and Woffy are certs, I think Cook should be in then I can see arguements for any of King, Birdger and Worrall. As for the suggestions of Schlein, please! Thats Schlein who is averaging less than Worrall, King, Bridger and Barker int he last 6 meetings and has never done anything internationally and is at an age now where he should be at his peak. If he was a consistent 8+ EL rider
  17. It means bugger all. I can go and test drive a Ferarri but on a £2,000 budget I'm going to be laughed out the show room and have to go next door to honest kens and buy a 10 year old Ford Focus that has a bit of rust and has seen better days. It was a nice dream for the 30 minutes I was test driving the Ferrari, shame it went wrong when money was mentioned.
  18. My first speedway hero, as an impressionable 5 year old watching someone do a wheelie of a whole track was simply amazing.
  19. But who do Coventry get as a squad rider to replace Nicholls and KK? Now what about the other 9 teams? you'd need about 10 7.5+ riders. Then what about replacing reserves? There is already a lack of 3-5 point men so PL double uppers are used and when #8s were tried, it failed. You can't say replace Holder with a junior, as taking away Holders 15 form the teams total of 50 and adding a 3 point juniors 3 points results in score of 38. And away rather than scoring 40 the team would do well to his 30, it would mean home loses and big home wins.Teams need to win at home to stay in business, it's not good for teams to know they're going to lose at home every week. Speedway actually needs some sort of mechanism to ensure teams are more likely to win at home, if the 95% of fans who only ever see home meetings saw a win every week crowds would be much bigger IMO. Sadly, guests are a necessary evil.
  20. No, he paid for top quality stuff, thus he didn't have manky hot dog or pie int eh stadium but when elsewhere afterwards for quality food at a more normal price. Just because you're happy to spend money for a good weekend doesn't mean you're stupid enough to buy rubbish food when in a couple of hours you can get something decent. Are people really incabale of not eating (or drinking) for 2 hours?
  21. While I do see your point, 3rd place is an irrelevant, without looking up, who was 3rd in the other qualifier? The fans seemed to be cheering, clapping and laughing.
  22. Oliver Greenwood I assume. Frankly, he stands a better chance of riding for the Bees int eh future than Brendon. I've no idea why Brendon was signed in the first place.
