  1. Actually in Wales the advert is usual on in the run up to the GP. It's no good advertising to the whole of the UK, just aim it at the locals. I live about half a mile from the stadium, I drive past it 4-5 times a week and I've seen no advertising yet but to be fair, it's months away. Why advertise now for people to forget?
  2. That minibus of people coming up will be thankful they can park the bus and that there will be no queues as they fight the 700 other people to get in!
  3. I'd just suggest trying to sit on the 3rd/4th bend for the last few races -they don't check you ticket, just walk into any entrance and sit where you like once the meeting is underway so you're at the end closest to the station.
  4. Only last week Lanham was being described as riding like a number 2
  5. Both had 1 win, 2 seconds, 2 3rds. But Chris had a last while AJ had a retirement. A last beats a retirement. Eek, always support Bomber first. And support Crump and/or Greg once he's out. So watch Freddie win this!
  6. How's that different to Bjarne vs Holder? Is the referee a Bjarne fan?
  7. Say what you like, he's box office, he's a talking point, he evokes emotion. You have to love Nicki Pedersen, even it's you love to hate him!
  8. Sky's experts have been terrible. Know nothing about the reserves and still after all these years don't know how to work out who's made the top 8. Is it just me that thinks that's one nasty semi and one nicer semi with Bomber getting the nicer one?
  9. At the point they clash Holder is on front. Using the bollocks theory of the rider in front can do as he wishes.
  10. Nothing wrong with that move. Everyone said it was find when Bjarne did it to Nicholls 2 weeks ago.
  11. Thats one hell of a line up for him to be competing against! Plenty of EL second strings/reserve and PL heatleader standard riders. A couple of weeks ago I'd have said he'd score next to nothing but after see how well he performed last week that might not be the case. If he is competing with these guys then it's no wonder he's riding over in Germany and not over here vs the u15.
  12. They also have Richard Lawson in their team but he's not super star! Claiming Buckowski is not special. He's a bit ordinary really. He'll probably be one of the better riders in the meeting but he won't get much further.
  13. If you're good enough then you're old enough. He showing by racing and passing Smolinski and then covering all Smoli could throw at him he is learning. What would he gain from being 200 metres ahead of other riders? Speedway is more than being able to ride fast for 4 laps, I bet there's a lot of riders out there who can do that. But it takes something special to read a race, see what the opposition are doing and react. You can only "learn" that by being in close races with others. If it's not about racing but track time why are we bothering with the U15s?! Complete waste of time as the riders can learn just by being out on track. Tell the authorities to scrap the idea. Robert looked an awesome talent a few years back, seeing him racing Smoli like that just leaves me looking forward to the day he is 16 and he can ride for an EL (sod PL!) team and take on the World best in the U21s and frankly even the senior GP qualifiers. Smolinski is averaging 6+ in the EL (with bonus points) any rider who can beta him is wasting his time riding in the U15s.
  14. Yes, he's ridden better than those who didn't make it so has already scored more points. Maybe all riders who finish in the top 10 should get an extra point too, as they've worked hard to score more than the riders who finished 11-16. Top 8 is an arbitary amount, if we just had a final and no semi, only the top 4 would get extra points anyway. What about the guy finishing last in the final? He gets no extra points for that either.
  15. Theres a number of technicalities on kids "working" - for a start kids can be actors.
  16. I said it's between Hampel and Hancock pre-season and I'm sticking with that. Think it cuold even go down to the semis or even the final of the last GP this year as nobody seems to want to dominate, even Nicki when he looked set to do so on Saturday had to throw it away. As for Crump, would love to see him do it again but he's just not go "it" any more, he still has the track craft and cna pull of the sneaky moves but he won't race through the gaps or put his body on the line any more, it'll cost him too much in the all important semis and finals. You get away with it in the heats as you only tend to get 1, maybe 2 top performers there he has to worry about but by semi time theres 3 or 4 of them willing to ride into him.
  17. Looks like Morten is back in the Witches 1-7 as of tomorrow. So Poole has been "dropped" (can you "drop" and injured rider?!)
  18. It's not disrespecting others, it's just saying that Robert is on a different level to the others. having seen him about 2 years ago tearing it up I'm not surprised he's come on so much more now. He was NL level then so he could well be PL level now and by next year could be EL level. Whast the point of him gating and riding around and finishing 100-150 metres ahead of the guy in second? He's better off riding in Germany every other weekend and racing riders than riding in a handful of U15 meetings over here and gating and romping off to massive wins. I don't know the answer as I don't like the idea of letting a 14 year old race NL or PL, it's a difficult one really.
  19. Yeah but them youngster Barker and King are clearly better riders for the future If fit Woffinden is the one rider who is a certainty. After that I accept it depends how Middlo wants to play it with the choice of Harris, Nicholls and Barker or a younger looking team including Bridger and possibly one of Mear, Auty or Worrall. Still a little too soon for them 3 though IMO, but they SHOULD be there in the pits!
  20. I've given this some thought, I now think riders should get a point for makings the semis, they shuold also get a point for scoring a point. They should ago get 6 points for turning up to the meeting. And 3 points for wearing a helmet. The fact they should be doing these things anyway is irrelevant, lets just reward everyone. Oh and all points will be removed after the penultimate round to give everyone a chance of winning the title, it's not fair that someone may have had a bad year that they cant win the title - We should call it the "one of World final", people will flock to it.
  21. Joel was number 7 and averages about 5 (he replaced Danny Norton on a 3). Ross Brady on 5.52 started in reserve but soon increased his average to 7.5ish meaning Emiliano Sanchez stayed in reserve the rest of season and averaged 7.35. There team was Karlsson, Stead, Thorp, Brady, Krammer, Sanchez, Parsons. I apologise if the figures are a little out but I'm trying to concentrate on sorting out my badge collection so may have recalled something incorrectly.
