So why not run heat 13?
-
I see them as being the same too. Both want to be there more than anything and I love that. Both have some serious talent. Both fail to apply that talent at times. Both are obnoxious. I like both - there just something about them, they have both annoyed me more than most but there something about them both. I'd love to see 5 riders in the Barker/Bridger attitude riding for team GB - young, keen, talented. Not doubt by this time tomorrow I will have sworn at both like never before! The thing is, I know that if I do sit here shouting and swearing at both tomorrow, I can say nothing that they won't be saying to themselves, neither want to fail. I don't get that impression with a few others. And lets be honest, it's generally the hot heads who throw strops (and helmet!) and smash things when they lose who go on to win things. Not the nice mellow guys - Like Stead and even dare I say it, Harris.

Football teams only have to announce line ups with minutes to go don't they?

No it wouldn't I think we'll be close without ever quite really standing a chance. At some point we'll string together a couple of rides, the Sky team will go mad and then we'll have someone fall off or do something stupid and we'll end up missing 2nd by about 6 points. And Middlo, DONT use the joker on a rider already in the race unless the gate is so much better than the others and the other 3 riders in the heat are hopeless. -

Its not unfair to say the first round has the worst racing. Poland vs Czech Rep and Denmark vs Germany is never likely to throw up any good races. Yet the Brits and Russians can get in the way a bit Thursday - well, if they gate that is - Oh, I see the problem now -

With my great memory for remembering results I know the Americans had 4 riders in 2010. C'mon Parsloes, do check your programmes! -
You're confusing criticism and praise. Criticism = "Nicholls bottles the joker again" so I went with constructive, don't give Nicholls the joker. Because he's not good enough? A 6.5-7 point man who scores well at Swindon. Can't hack it on away track, abroad or in the SWC. Simon scored 1 more last year than Ben did last night and Simon had 2 more rides. On what basis should we include Simon? His nice hair?
-
Want constrictive? 1. Don't give Nicholls a joker. 2. Ignore 1, just don't put Nicholls in the team 3. Don't take Barker out of a ride when we're going to finish 2nd regardless.

The Russians messed up. By giving Gaffurov a joker on his own ride, he was not able to take a tac sub. They should have replaced the blank with a rider on a joker. -

Thing is, if Harris had not swerved out of Lukas' way on bend 4 twice, Lukas would have had him off them anyway. -

1 points As it would have meant Woffy heat beat the Poles. And the lack of a joker on Scott would have probably meant he could have ridden an easier race so would have scored 2. But then Chris would not have been out be Gollob there, we'd have had Barker out. -
Why put Scott, the guy who ALWAYS fails on the joker on a joker vs the World Champ? Also, DO NOT use the joker on a rider already in a heat.

Shocking from Woffy. He wipes someone out and THEN calls them a girl. Added to his girly strop after his first exclusion, he's made himself look a right prick. -

Some of us learnt that years ago. Did Middlo? Nah. Tactically inept and could not motivate a fart. -

The point is everyone does everything for themselves. We go to work to get paid. Emil goes to work to get paid or to be World Champion. He isn't doing for the fans as some people claim he should be doing tonight. -

What? That people are selfish and only do things for personal gain. Money.... World Championships..... -

Of course it is! Do you go to work because of your love of the company or to pay your bills? As for "the other Russians are riding" - 4 of them. Ate there only 7 Russians now? And maybe the 4 riding are being paid by their Russian clubs so dont have a problem? -

Mark Loram Tony Rickardsson Greg Hancock Jason Crump Ryan Sullivan Leigh Adams Lee Richardson Simon Stead All riders who have turned down the chance of riding in the SWC (or would have done had they not been injured). Just how is Sayfutdinov different? I'll tell you how, Emil is currently not being paid to ride in the GP's and would not be paid to ride in the SWC because the Russian authorities owe the FIM money, thus the FIM are not paying out any prize money to the Russians. Your beef should be with the Russian authorites. Why did nobody complain the Germans were missing their best rider on Saturday? -

Chris Louis must have missed out as he stated tracks sweat and they're a bad idea as we were all watching dust fly. The one time Chris Louis has an opinion he's made to look stupid by what we're watching on our screens! Typical promoter rubbishing someone elses idea because they didn't cone up with it/ refuse to try it! -

Actually, you can get 6 points. If you take out a rider who is going to come last anyway and put your best man in who will win the race you gain 6. It amazes me how often team managers put the joker on a rider already in the race, a complete waste of a tactical option. -

Take Ben and Simons averages over the last 5 years and extrapolate them. Who's getting better? Who's getting worse? How is Ben riding PL any different to Simon riding 3rd division in Poland? Bjarne Pedersen a year or two after moving in the EL took the opportunity to double back down about 10 years ago and he's not done too bad for himself! I guess Ben could have just done a Simon Stead and stayed PL year after year until it was too late and he was a big fish. How many seasons was Simon a 9+ PL man before he moved up? 3 or 4? Simon has always lack ambition, Ben on the other hand moved up full time when he had to make a choice because his average was 0.04 too high. Andreas Jonsson is riding Swedish Alsvenskan league, as is Jonas Davidsson. They both did ok in tight SWC. You honestly think Ben is incapable of beating 7 riders on Monday? I'd say he has the beating of all the Russians and Czechs and frankly, Stead has no more chance of beating one of the Poles than Ben. Yet Stead is crap at Kings Lynn. Plus didn't Stead have a hissy fit because he wasn't given a wild card to the GB Final and refused to ride anyway?
