Garrity will get 9+ this year, so he'll be the number 1 they need. It means that all season long they'll have an amazing reserve.

Vog, get down from that bridge

Brilliant news

I'll second that. Having had the pleasure of having a few "spats" with the Barmy Army over the years, they're a noisy, roudy bunch who clearly love their speedway. A couple of times at Newport they made made sure everyone know they were in attendance and we had some great banter. It would be a shame for British Speedway to lose a bunch of fans like that. I have my fingers crossed for you guys

Them videos dont make it look too bad. I'm loving the banking, it'd be great to see a GP there.
-
It actually looks like speedway indoors rather than Brighton-esq indoor speedway.

There is no reduction on NL riders average because the league is deemed to be British only (or so few non-Brits its not an issue) so nobody gains/loses out anyway. Yet weirdly, a rider who drops from the PL get the reduction, only in speedway

Lets assume that the stadium and moto-x people are responsible for the fire, hay, forcing off the road etc. Do they really think getting the stadium closed down will stop this? If someone is already willing to go to these lengths, what will they do if they cost someone 100's of 1000's? Send them a box of milk tray and a bouquet of flowers? I wish i could afford the house next door, I'd then complain day and night about the noise from their tele, I'd make a note every time their phone rang, they put the washing machine on. I'd note every time they moved their car and made noise. I'd also point out their home is blocking my view of the sun and spoiling my enjoyment of the house. I'd make their bloody life hell. And I don't mean that about these people, I'd love to do the same to anyone who buys a house and then complains about the noise of something that was there before they were.

Cardiff Gp - Bristol Update
SCB replied to website_bbbs's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Isn't it only £10 on a train anyway and you'd have more flexibity with time. I've never understood speedway fans travelling on coaches, it always seems expensive and of course restrictive. Plus 2.5 hours from Bristol to Cardiff? You could hitchhike and be there quicker! -
There is a tiny blur before the work official, look closely and it says "un".
-
I don't know for certain, but isn't it how it worked last year for riders without a NL average?
-
In fairness, the Aussies didn't help themselves this winter by making things hard for the Boocock lads.
-
You're wrong. Adams last NL average is so old it's no longer relevant. He would ride on his PL average doubled. Seconded.
-
There you go then, a league that is run by an independant still does stupid things. Proof of ever it was needed, someone independant is not a perfect solution.

LEAGUE = LGE POSITION = POS COUNTRY (NATION) = NAT CLUB = CLUB TOTAL POINTS = TOT PTS RANK MEETING = RNK MEET TOTAL POINTS = TOT PTS AVERAGE = AVG (or CMA = Calculated Meeting/Match Average)

Honestly. No. Give a money an American passport and I think the Americans would back him. We often hear that this rider has back some other rider and they fail. A good rider doesn't always seem to be able to spot talent. Jason Crump has over the years advised Poole sign Sergei Darkin and BV sign Michael Rajkowski, neither lasted to the first set of GSAs

I'd prefer it if any Brit moved up into the EL on 3. Some will say thats unfair, when Tai move dup he was clearly better than 3, well Pawlicki was clearly better than, Mrocza was always going to be good for 6+ etc etc. Plus, Tai would have moved up sooner. By making all Brits a 3 in the EL (until they attain an EL average of course, so someone like Joe Screen, Olly Allen or David Howe moving back up would his converted PL average), it will encourge clubs to take a chance on them when they're younger. Ok it'll make a few riders quite advanatageous in the first year while the likes of Craig Cook get snapped up next season on a 3, but the following year, you'll only be left with the rider capable of 3 anyway, as the better ones would have bene snapped up the year before.

Could they not just do what some teams did in the early days of the Amateur league/Conference League? 2 tracks sharing a team. Swindon/Reading, Newport/Exeter and Kings Lynn/Someone shared teams didn't they?
-
Is that the case? I've always maintained that Billy Legg scored a paid maximum in 2005 against Edinburgh when he score 2' 2' 2' = 6+3 And Justin Elkins scored a 2+1 maximum for Newport vs Trelawny in 2001(ish). Theres no advantage to having scored a maximum anyway, really, is there?

Why No Second British Gp?
SCB replied to BARNES's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It doesn't look very appealing from the outside though, with all the graffitti and smashed windows. Plus it costs more for a lager there than it does inside the stadium -

Let be honest, it's just great to be able to argue over which would be better. 12 years ago if someone has said we'd be having this discussion I'd have said they were mad, the fact that Cardiff works is amazing. I love Cardiff but then I don't get conned for a hotel, I just jump on a bus and a train form my parents house and then get a lift home off my mum. But having the shops and pubs right outside the stadium is a massive plus point. However, to count out Wembley because the pubs are not right on the door step is a little short sighted, as others have pointed out, very few of the other stadiums are in the same position as Cardiff - Prague is 20 minutes on a tram to a hellish looking area of Prague with a single, hellish looking pub outside. Wembley probably wouldn't be quite as good for meeting up as speedway fans and the fact that the whole couple of street around the stadium are taken over by speedway fans thus creating a great carnival/party atmosphere where as at Wembley people would be spread over a great area but a speedway meeting at Wembley would be massive. Sadly, I don't see both happening, they couldn't have the 2 flagship GP's in the UK, however, if they did, I'd go to both without a moments hessitation. Regarding cheaper Cardiff accomodation, if you're willing to stay outside Cardiff, you can get some reasonably prices hotels, it's no different to staying in London and having to get a train etc to Wembley. -

Did Parken drop off that much when Vojens was added? Surely 10,000 people at Coventry would not lead to 10,000 people less at Cardiff, of that 10,000 some would be locals who don't travel to Cardiff anyway and a lot would do both. Do people really think that people will say, "Well, I've been to Coventry for a GP this year, I'm not going to the Millenium Stadium this time"? Did people not turn up with Coventry held the GP challenge? -
2011 U21 Team Championship

Maybe we don't feel comfortable taking 5 or 6 kids over to Russia. Did you see the line ups of the Russian rounds for the GP qualifiers last season? Nobody could get visas so the Russians took the places. No doubt they'll do the same again to give themselves a fake title. -
The Speedway Leagues Around The World
SCB replied to IW08's topic in International World of Speedway
Depends on the rider, the meeting and money. The Poles will always put Poland first. The Swedes would probably always put Sweden first. Brits put Polish play offs first in some cases. I don't think theres any hard and fast rules, amazingly - yet unsurpisingly. -
It's aways a bit hit and miss and I agree it's not perfect. It could equally be argued that the people posting on a fans forum are the people who are most passionate about the sport as they have taken the time to search out the clubs site. To get a truely representative view, the question "how often id you attend meeting in 2010" should have been asked too, that way you could judge how many people would be going less often. As I stated above, 1400 may be the fan base but not everyone attends every week. Some people will attend every week but some will be once a month and some once a season.
