  1. When I saw Sky had decided not to bother I was disappointed. Then I saw the forecast. Not even in the slightest bit shocked this is off!
  2. Certainly proves they don't "do it for the fans" despite what some insist. So late that both lads had kevlars made up? Yeah right! If they were letting be youngsters have a chance why was Gino Manzares not used in place of Janniro? He's tweeted he was ready to ride and upset not to get the call.
  3. Brilliant meeting last night and a great atmosphere in the stadium. Had a good laugh pre, post and during the meeting with the Poles. Friday night we were in bend 1 but got a free upgrade to the seated 3rd/4th bend for last night and both were great views. Had a great laugh with the lady next to me from Ipswich too, both jeering the Aussies and cheering the Brits Glad I didn't buy a programme having seen the state of them! And what he hell was that shower of 5hite for display at the end? Why no fireworks? Comedy moment was the plastic Aussie in front of us who after the last race pulled out a GB hat 😂😂 silly moo
  4. Less about the kids running around
  5. Ive done some looking into this. Robert has ridden most meetings as an EL heat leader. Fricke all as second string. Robert tends to get heat 15 too. But didnt realise just how different their performances were in Sweden!
  6. Ive defended Tais tattoos but this one does seem a bit odd.
  7. I love young Max. He's got a great style and will be very good. But Robert is 2 years younger and already marginally ahead. If I had one complaint about Max it's that he's too relaxed, there a lack of "fight" in him from what I've seen but my God am I being picky with that observation!
  8. Only on the BSF can a thread about why something is great be full of moaning
  9. Or the fans could say nothing, not give a crap and stop going to speedway because they don't care about it. Then what? Tai, Robert and the rest of them have to get new jobs. People care, when they care they get annoyed about things. Racing a speedway bike can be dangerous. Life is dangerous. It's not as if Tais tattoos hurt anyone else is?
  10. I bet the top U15s don't even earn a fraction* of what the Leicester Lions riders do though! *technically they do but hopefully you all know what I mean
  11. I just assumed HEaver was looking for a new site for Stock cars in the same way that Horton is looking for a new site for speedway.
  12. All this bitching, moaning and complaining if Tai (and Robert) rather than winding people up on social media just explained the situation. But oh no, that would be too easy. Rather than a few tweets explaining what was going on and people accepting it they have made the choice to get peoples backs up, so any "hate" is only down to them being wind up merchants. Still, at the rate Woffy blocks people on twitter nobody would be able to read it anyway!
  13. If the Mountains is being discounted (as suggested above) then I'll go with Les and Aiden Collins at Glasgow in 2000 and 2001. Actually rode at 1 and 2 together for a bit.
  14. Germany minus their number 1 scored 7. USA minus their number 1 scored 5. Why people seem to think Germany were hard done by because of the Greg Hancock being a 1 man team I'm not sure, Germany were too!
  15. Really? Next Event is monster trucks in September. Then not used until November. The Speedway took place this year a week after Beyonce was there.
  16. I actually think this could be one of Gregs most exciting seasons. Hes had a few good races this year and his gating is not as sharp as it has been in the past. He's almost enjoyable to watch when he misses a start Wrong, you can take a tac ride, a joker ride or a tac joker. Once you have taken one of them you can't take another. Even so, Masters should have been in heat 17 and replaced by Doyle. But Holder could not have another ride. Actually Doyle should have been in for Holder in 16 as the joker anyway.
  17. Thats my take on it too. I think we have lots of potential. And they're all likeable. TBH if the points limit was lowered so out current 1-7 fitted, I'd keep it the same. Regarding Fricke, apparently he was agonisingly close to being a Bee in 2016 hence living in the city and being sponsored by a Coventry based company.
  18. It was more than that. 2006/2007 rings a bell - I think Simon Barton tried a season in the PL after that where Buster Chapman took over very late on before pulling out and they went back to the NL with an old couple (really sorry, don't remember names) taking over before selling onto a consortium including a few old rider. I remember interviewing (very badly) Blayne Scroggins and Horton jnr for re-run productions at Newport during Horton era which is the only reason I can date it! I think it was the year after Mick sold the club that Blayne and Laurence Rogers went a whole season without a single win as team managers and only got 1 very dodgy draw at home to Kings Lynn, weeks after Buster Champman (Lynn owner) took over! Anyway, again, Mick meant well. Tried to take them PL but it failed. Im sure he had the right interests, wanted to do well, tried hard but just failed. It seems to me he means well but just isn't speedway promoter material. They say "If at first you don't succeed,: Try, try, try again" and Mick certainly does that!
  19. Russia finished 4 behind Denmark with 7 for Greg Lagutas rides. Only need Greg to score 9 of 10 and they have the beating of Denmark. They were only 7 behind Poland! So 5 or 6 more from Greg and they're on a par with Poland
  20. USA and Australia both nominated in the wrong order. Greg should be out vs Smoli to cover him. And Aus should have Master in heat 17 but replaced by Doyle as a tac. Why do speedway managers find tactics so damn hard? And Lemon messed up not having Doyle in for Holder
  21. We (as in my group) picked up on this. in two of the races he was at the back he looked like he was trying but didn't look right and almost looked uncomfortable. Yet in the race he had with Scott Nicholls and heat 15 he looks like proper Bomber. A really odd meeting from him
  22. Nothing in the rulebook. No first timer has ever turned up and gone, "R/R is rubbish, guests are rubbish, the points limit is rubbish and there not enough Brits in teams". People want an efficiently run meeting on a good track and a home win. Get that right and the rule are almost irrelevant. I bet 95% of people don't know the rules beyond the TR and the use of a reserve.
