Lakesides plan is just good business sense. 90% of favs only ever watch home meetings, so justify and win at home. Anything else is a bonus and should result in play-offs.

Belle Vue were rarely shown when they were the whipping boys. In fact if you look back at almost any season their a bias on sky to teams in the top half of the league as the away team.

Brilliant. Know of people on drugs, announce it so those riders can quit, be replaced or just stop taking drugs before testing so they don't get caught. Brilliant. Yet again speedway sweeps it's mess under the carpet rather than clean it up

I love Chris Harris, I have argued with many people that he should in the GP series the last few seasons, he's my favourite rider. But when he comes out with statements like this I just have to shake my head and tut. Really?

National Speedway Stadium - Too Sanitized?
SCB replied to Little Thumper's topic in National League Speedway
The security guys at the SWC made me laugh. Behind the temp stand on bends 3 and 4 there were people smoking, in some cases out of the way. Security come charging in and tell people that they couldn't do that, rules and all that. Now that fine but what they didn't take exception to was the fact a lot of people had bought a lot of beer and there was a lack of toilets (10 of them, for the whole of the 3rd and 4th bend!) which meant that a large number of men were urinating against the back wall/hockey pitches. That was perfectly acceptable, there are clearly no rule that forbid it so security let people get on with it. One Polish bloke found it amusing that to be able to smoke he had to pretend to be urinating against the hockey pitches so he could hide his cigarette -

And that's a bad thing? I don't see how getting rid of Ales Dryml, Andreas Messing, Kauko Nieminen, Filip Sitera and the almost ended list of naff foreigners in reserve berths has done the EL any harm

baring disasters in the next two weeks Bjarne will go to heat leader in 2 weeks time with Kurtz dropping to reserve. Buzz will drop to second string -
The issue is that over the year the EL and NL have got weaker while generally the PL has got stronger. So you have to options to fix the problem you describe. Make the EL and NL stronger so the jump form NL to PL is less but the jump from PL to EL is more. OR the PL lowers it's standards so it's a move progressive move up the leagues. The PL has got too strong, it needs to lower the points limit to about 37 or 38 but also put a limit on heat leaders so that some of the better ones are forced into the EL full time. How has it ruined the EL? It's one of the best things to ever happen. It has got rid of a load of pointless foreigners and replace them with Brits who are now in a number of cases starting to settle as decent second strings.

Ched has subsequently had his conviction quashed so is as innocent as you or I (well I assume you've got no criminal record ) As for Antonio, the rumours weeks back were that the case was going nowhere. So pleased that has turned out to be the case. I can't imagine the hell the poor guy has been through.

Brady And Todd Kurtz Bikes Nicked From Middlos.

Based on the fact riding unlicensed bikes away from the police while on drugs is "what all kids do" it seems shocking that he is so shocked that this kind of thing happens as I had assumed he lived in a right rough area. Anyway, I hope they get them back ASAP. -

Gone are the days of protecting riders. They were protected for 2 seasons now they have to do it on their own. By allowing riders switch we have seen Adam Ellis ride about 5 or 6 meeting in reserve and then got into the 1-5 where he has flourished under a ltitle more pressure and getting harder rides. The alternative was he stayed in reserve beating the same riders over and and over. The issue is the race format rather than riders being able to move up/down. By my reckoning, Bjarne will be in reserve for the next 2 and a half weeks but will go into the 1-5 with Kurtz dropping down - unless Ellis has a bad spell or Kurtz a really good sell in the next 2 weeks. -
Another Week Without Elite League Speedway On Sky!
SCB replied to Shale Searcher's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
My irony-meter just exploded! Poland race mainly 1 day, a Sunday. Probably 95% of their meetings. They have the odd Friday and they did ride Monday this week too. Meanwhile we ride on any of Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday in the EL. I think we've even had a couple of Tuesday earlier in the season too. So who is it that really rides, "when they like"? As for Poland not respecting our night, why wouldn't they? Maybe if Sweden had Tuesday and Thursday, Poland had Sunday and another day, GPs have Saturday then we could have two days too - Maybe Wednesday and Friday? -

Anomaly? The 7th highest averaged rider is in reserve? How is this an anomaly and who do you suggest should be in reserve? -

Im with Shovvy on this. Rider buggering off to ride in a pointless tournament that they're not going to win is a kick in the teeth to the fans that pay their wages every week. -

I read it as R/R or a guest is available for a second string. The "if permitted bit" just means you can't use R/R for a reserve. I think! It's one of the poorly written rules
