  1. I think the thing with Greg is he's a thinking man, he's a very clever guy who really is always learning. He took a turn for the good mid-00's when he started working with some former motorcross guy and I think he just started seeing things a different way. I've commented in the past how it was weird that between 98 and the mid00's he was a bit anonymous, won the odd GP but was certainly never at any point a threat. I think the biggets compliment I can pay Greg is if I was going to be a speedway rider and copy another riders style it would be Gregs, it just seems so much easier than most others, it keeps him out of trouble and allows him to do what he's doing now at his age. As for the age thing, it's a double edged sword. I think speedway should be loud, fast, smelly and dangerous - all things the young love and old dislike but equally it's pretty cool in some ways that an old guy can teach the kids how to do it. On the how does he compare to riders from the 50s, 70s and 90s etc well the sport has changed so much its in many ways irrelevant. Could a top guy in the 60s ride a laydown and sit still at the tapes in 2010s? Could Greg ride a laydown and roll at the starts? I certainly don't think 60s riders could cope with being moves around on track like they do in the GPs these days. Having seen the Barry Briggs World Final finger loss accident that was described as dangerous and a move that could have killed him you see worse in the NL these days!
  2. So r/r for one rider and a PL sub 5 pointer for another? You just know Poole will still win, it's what they do. Anyone else would rightly lose. Only amazed that knowing this was coming up that Matt Ford has not signed a number 8 tbh.
  3. Can be. There nothing about warning. In much the same way here no such thing as first bend bunching, just an unsatisfactory start. So I can't quote a rule as it doesn't exist.
  4. Theyve not been paid for about 10 weeks now if rumours are true. Any decent sport would allow rider not being paid to leave and find new clubs if they wished.
  5. That referee was wrong. A rider can be kicked out of a heat without a warning for delaying the start.
  6. No, we want to see a rider win within the rules. Or should riders turn up with 600cc engines and just get a fine because we want to see 4 rider races?
  7. Has Stachyra had a single decent rude yet for Berwick? Yikes heaven poor hasn't he?
  8. Theyre not complicated. In this case the SCB gave permission to ignored them! Imagine they'd let Poole cheat?!
  9. You have... You mean these rules? If your double upper is 1-3 in the averages it's a guest or r/r. If hes 4th or 5th its r/r, if he's 6th or 7th it's a guest. You don't have a facility for your 3rd reserve, you have the facility for your top 2, the two in the 1-7! Lynn know that, you know, you just used a guest for Simon Lambert (Ben Morley) and not Carl Wilkinson. Well done on realising theres no such thing as double up, #8 and #9 for facilities. As for #9 you really have totally and 100% made that one up as theres no such thing at all. at least a #8 exists Again, you've made that up. Quote the rule. I've quoted rules that prove you wrong try and quote some that prove you right. Out to lunch actually
  10. It should be branded as loud, dirty, smelly, high risk and dangerous. Not lovely, nice, "family sport" that granny goes to watch.
  11. I like Bates a lot and if I need a single, one off top draw ride he'd be my man. But if I needed a whole meeting or a full season I'd pick Ellis. Where as Garrity probably sit just alongside Ellis over a meeting or a season but if I needed one of the 3 for a run-off, Garrity every time. He'd win it or crash trying, mind you, so would Bates but he'd more likely to crash trying than Garrity Once again, I just love that we're able to argue over who is best, all 3 are damn good riders.
  12. Well thats not true. You have made that rule up.
  13. It say what you can have a facility for, it doesn't mention number 8. The rules also don't say you can't have a guest for a rider named "Niels Kristian Iversen who fancies the day off" but as the rules don't say you can then you can't
  14. 6.38 for Ellis vs 5.75 for Garrity. Garrity had a poor start though. His last 6 meetings he's averaging over 7. Frankly, I don't think theres a lot between them but Adam is two years younger. As always, it's great to be arguing over who is the better young, British rider. I'd have either (or both!) in my team.
  15. Harris has had a couple of very good mechanics. But if the rider goes back into the pits and doesn't know why the bike isn't working what can the mechanic do?
  16. You can't have a facility for you number 8. Nothing about #8 having to ride in a 1-5 or about being able to use a facility for a #8
  17. 1. You cannot have a facility of any kind of a #8. A #8 is a basically a glorified guest. Nowhere does it once ever hint in the rules you can have a facility for your #8. You can only have a facility for riders in your 1-7, which Huckenbeck is not. 2. Morley replaced Simon Lambert. If he didn't then who did replace Simon Lambert? You have to have two EDRs in your team at all times. Dman them rules! 3. Again, see above. You can';t have a facility for Huckenbeck. 4. And once again, for the God only know how many-th time this season, why the bloody hell is Huckenbeck when he "rides" in the 1-7? He is 7th in your averages, he should be in reserve FFS. Kings Lynn have taken the piss all season with their line ups. Lynns team and last nights facilities Iversen (only replaced by #8 or a "junior) - replace by R/R AND R/R was moved to second string Lambert Batchelor Schlein Lambert (has to be replaced by an EDR) - replace by Morley Rose Jakobsen As I see it, Iversens R/R points should be removed because it was in the wrong position, Schleins points removed as he was in the wrong position and Iversen given a 28 day ban for withholding his service. The ONLY options available were #8 or a junior, Lynn didn't use either.
  18. Harris' biggest problem isn't his gating. It's his mechanical knowledge and ability to get the best out of a bike. All else being equal, if Lambert knows how to make a bike work and has technical ability when working on a bike there no reason he can't be a top GP rider one day.
  19. Be interesting to know. Either a re-declaration or an illegal team. Probably an illegal team, same as at Poole the night before.
  20. Find me the poorly written rule that allows a facility for your #8. Last night Puk was missing, they used R/R in his place, they also moved R/R to second string when it should have been at heat leader. Breaks two rules.
  21. No, he's 3rd in their averages so won't qualify.
  22. So Lynn have not only made up a rule that your number 8 can only ride in the 1-5 but they have now made up a rule he can replace a rider who is AWOL and you can have a facility for him. Kings Lynn's use of the rules this season has been shameful. They have had an illegal team so many times I've lost count and in fact in the last two days have broken many rules with their 1-7s that they have put out. It's embarrassing. Mind you, Lynn went the whole of 2011 with an illegal team that was over the points limit, at least there have been some meetings in 2016 that's they've been legal.
  23. Who have they used r/r for he last two nights? Both are wrong and illegal.
