SCB replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Just reading in the press that the track will be down - which is a good thing as it's only 30-odd hours between the end of the game and practice! And surely this is a great chance to show off the sport. If there are going to be 20,000 football fans in there get some bike on track! -

Llanishen is nice enough, I'd have no issues leaving my car around there. But if you're then getting a train into town you still have the same walk as if you were in Pellett Street car park. If theres 2 of you then you're talking £11 just for the trains. -

Thinking about it thats a good and fair shout. Only missed out due to injury. -
Christ, people miss war crys? They're as cringe as it gets and it's a bloody good thing that they have died a death.

As far as you can get from Pellett Street really. Sadly I can't think of anywhere cheap/free around that area. Not that you could park in for 24 hours anyway. -

What hotel are you staying in? Noodles is right that Pellett street is the stock answer but I may be able to help you find something better (but I doubt it!) -
If we start well we should end well. KK, Harris and King will have 5 rides out of 6 in the last 3 heats and we should be able to get something out of that - KK being one of the few should have the beating of Doyle with any consistency at Swindon. Heat 12 should in theory work for Coventy too as Woryna should win it. I've just convinced myself we can do well now. I had it down for 60-30 before this post!
-
If Sarj makes a start and the referee doesn't call it back then he can still win races. But I'm not confident of getting anything out of this unless Woryna decides he loves the place.

Can't have Fisher as Edinburgh ride the same night. And Robbo is not the answer. Mind you, r/r isn't the answer either.

It always could have done, by it didn't then and doesn't now suit promoters to do it. -
2016 Speedway Gp Qualifiers

Speedway is unique as a Motorsport that competitors have to qualify. I can't think off the top of my head of any other Motorsport that people qualify for. In fact in many other motorsports people pay to compete. Also how many times has a qualifier won a World Title? Nicki and Woffy both won titles as wildcards. -

Back at the start of the thread there was some discussion about Newport. Pleased to confirm that the Friars Walk development has made it a much better place and there's a few decent places to grab something to eat (and even a drink) but still as a general rule Cardiff is a LOT better than Newport with far more options, less chavvy and generally a lot more open and light and feels less scary on a Saturday night. If you're staying in Newport now it's a lot better than 12 months ago though. -

So a final of Patryk Dudek Tomasz Jędrzejak Max Fricke Nicolas Covatti Robert Lambert Brady Kurtz Martin Smolinski Piotr Pawlicki Krzysztof Kasprzak Kenneth Bjerre Sam Masters Krzysztof Buczkowski Peter Ljung Hans Andersen Wildcard #1 Wilrdcard #2 Martin Vaculik Mikkel Bech Sat Sept 3rd in Vetlanda Sweden. Looking at that line up, I'm going to say Robert Lambert can do it. -

Can Lindgren really be given another wildcards? He's already had more chances than Harris! -
Lakesides crowds look so small because the "arena" is so big and open
-
HaHaHa

they also have Kennett riding for Lakeside and he's not. Trusting official sites over the bookies in this one

Spot on. And while he has his attitude most people will be "blissfully ignorant" of speedway.

Meetings That Clash With The World Championships
SCB replied to SCB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Lets be honest, the useless sods couldn't avoid clashes for Harris and King in the GB semi-finals. What chance have they got of doing what I've asked above? -
He's in the GP qualifier.

Yeah, great. That'll get the fans in! Who exactly do they think they're punishing by running meetings on dates riders are missing and replaced by 3 point juniors? Two years ago on consecutive weeks Coventry and Swindon went to Eastbourne and had 3 point men replace Hans (and I think Kildemand), what possible consequence was there was swapping the meetings or even arranging to have Hans/Kildemand swap their qualifiers? It's just another great big "f you" to the fans.
