  1. Possibly basing calculations on 2019, pre pandemic. Covid has unfortunately changed many things in this Country for everyone.
  2. That has got to be the way forward, with clubs now so far apart in travelling distance in days gone by it was the local derbys that were the best and drew the best crowds, booing the other team, just for the fun of it, West Ham v Hackney, wish we could turn back the clock.
  3. Ipswich is reachable and I went when they were in the Championship but much as I love speedway and enjoy watching all riders but supporting a club that is in a league with so few teams and racing against the same teams on numerous occasions for league points is just not for me on a regular basis.
  4. I'm still gutted. I've been an Arlington regular for a couple of years, despite the 2 hour journey each way. Every club I've supported has gone starting with West Ham, followed by Rye House and now Eastie not to mention all the others I've visited regularly over the years, Hackney, Wimbledon, Romford, Lakeside to name just a few. Where do us supporters go now, my nearest track is now Kent but the Dartford crossing journey traffic wise makes that almost a no go.
  5. It was coming to the end of it's life and didn't meet the safety requirements for racing next year.
  6. Gutted is an understatement. I have no doubt Eastbourne tried everything to keep coming to the tapes and my heart goes out to all the Management involved with this awful decision that has had to be taken.
  7. Eastbourne have been asked by BSPL not to make their statement today, I am sure as soon as they are allowed to speak they will.
  8. I feel for the management and fans. In 2019 I saw massive strides being taken by the management to bring in new fans which appeared to be working then along came 2020 and Covid and all the hard work of the previous year was lost and although there has been Speedway this year with so many restrictions in place for the first few months of 2021 it seemed to me it was impossible for the management to try to pick up from where they had left off. I hope Eastbourne manage to sort their problems and can compete in the Championship next year and if they do I will be there.
  9. I thought I'd seen something, you had me worried I thought I was losing my marbles.
  10. Update now on Eastbourne website and it basically comes down to there is no update yet as BSPL are apparently working through various things - whatever they may be?
  11. I've been on Eastbourne website today with no problem and noticed if you scroll down on main page and click, not on Ticket Store, but advert below it for 90th Anniversary it takes you to where you can still buy tickets online for this meeting - not that I'd risk it until after any announcements are made.
  12. Try an email asap to see if you get a response
  13. Yes I think taxi is best option, I'm not local to Arlington but drive there regularly and I've not seen any public transport nearby and the stadium is a long way down a country road that definitely has no buses going down it. Car park opens 5p.m and turnstiles 6p.m, hope you enjoy your visit.
  14. No we didn't have to doctor the track we won convincingly without two of our good scoring regular riders and Eddie hit form and carried on where he'd left off from Kent last Tuesday. Sour grapes definitely springs to mind.
  15. Yes Eastbourne no 1 Lawson, so I think that means we've got Scott Nicholls instead so who are Leicester now having as guest? - Chris Harris perhaps (before someone takes this seriously it's a joke)
  16. Scott Nicholls definitely riding, he's posted on Twitter he won't be in the BT studio today
  17. If you believe speedway is dead you've obviously not been to Arlington (Eastbourne Eagles) recently. Why then are you wasting your time posting on this forum surely your time would be better spent commenting on/participating in things that are of actual interest to you.
  18. No thank you, at Eastbourne we have a simple and efficient online ticketing system we don't need the "powers that be" messing with it. Hopefully as Cityrebel said we'll soon be going back to pay on the gate which is much easier and preferred by many fans.
  19. Totally agree, we drove down from Essex through wind, torrential rain in fact everything you don't want for Speedway but we kept going as we totally trust the Eastbourne weather guru.
  20. Drove down from Essex through rain, flooded road etc, now 3 miles from track and weather looking good so looking forward to a good meeting with an Eagles win
  21. I watched the GP qualifier live stream from Glasgow last week what a great meeting and very easy to sign up and watch. I'll definitely be watching this Friday and hoping for a good meeting and an Eagles win. I prefer going to meetings but Glasgow is a 7 hour drive for me so to watch the live stream is a no brainer and the price is OK as well.
  22. Or get all Speedway meetings 're classified as "test events" just like at Donnington this weekend where they have a music event over 3 days with 10,000 people no masks and no social distancing. Bloody powers that be must think 1500 in a speedway meeting is a 100% Covid spreader.
  23. Taken from Gov website:- "From 23 May the UK is designated as a virus variant area of concern, which means that you may only enter Germany from the UK if you are a German citizen, a resident or their spouse/partner/child under 18, or if you can invoke an urgent humanitarian reason such as an immediate family bereavement. No other travellers may enter Germany from the UK"
