  1. Fortunately I do not have to sort out all the ifs and buts in these awful times the Ukranian, and many Russian ordinary citizens find themselves in. Loktaev, although born in Russia, in the searches I have done is listed as Ukranian nationality, so I'll leave it to the people who issue the entry Visas to sort that one out.
  2. I don't know how, or even if, Emil and Artem voted and who for in the Russian elections but unfortunately at present they and all Russian sports persons need to be excluded from competing in other countries whether as individuals, part of a team or under a different flag. Yes it is hard on those Russians who don't agree with Putin but what about the Ukranians whose lives have been turned upside down. The sanctions being put in place against Russia have to be adhered to 100% as Putin seems to have completely lost the plot.
  3. So do I but Countries need to stick together re sanctions against Russia. I will be at Cardiff and would like to watch Sayfutinov and Laguta but in the circumstances if the war is still ongoing I don't think they should ride, if they do and should one of them win the GP I will not be cheering or staying for the presentations.
  4. Just wondering does anyone know if the Eastbourne Eagles Company is still showing as active next year will this have any negative on Eastbourne Speedway making a comeback in 2023?
  5. Not sure if I like Sunday seats being unreserved, first come first served it seems, that could be interesting if lots of fans decide to do the whole weekend. Personally I think it would be better if you have the same seat both days but as Sunday is free if you went Saturday I suppose I shouldn't complain. Anyway got my tickets, booked my hotel just hope a stupid virus doesn't rear up and spoil it all.
  6. On the synopsis it says its a pair of Speedway Boots, wonder whose? Olle Nygren wore distinctive ones and he passed away last year, could it be his boots?
  7. Interesting read in King's Lynn news where Richard Lawson says he's owed nearly £8,000 by Eastbourne (if link doesn't work follow link from Speedway News Now) https://www.lynnnews.co.uk/sport/lynn-rider-owed-8k-by-crisis-club-9227047/
  8. That's a possibility, I wonder if he'll be daft enough to show his face, even as a spectator, at any speedway track in the future.
  9. On Companies House it says Jordan resigned from Plymouth Arena Community Events in November 2021 and resigned from South West Power Promotions (which I believe is the speedway) in August 2021
  10. This thread maybe as they are now officially back in the Championship, unless they run an NDL team as well perhaps!
  11. Us Eastbourne supporters were "assured" we'd get our refunds by the end of September and we're still waiting. I'd be more than wary of going anywhere near a club were Ian Jordan still has connections even if he supposedly has nothing to do with the speedway he is still strongly linked to the arena where Plymouth ride.
  12. The Ben Fund would be good as well but will they have to find money for the new airfence first.
  13. I'll be there if some meetings are arranged for 2022 send it will help to keep the fan base together.
  14. How about re naming this thread "Eastbourne 2023" it may make it stand out more, I will still looking at the out of date and hopefully soon to be forgotten thread.
  15. Good news on Eastbourne Eagles website they probably won't be running in 2022 but plans are in place to be back in 2023 - hope its at least Championship Level and that Tom Brennan returns.
  16. Maybe BUT Ian Jordan said everything owed would be sorted by end of September and all we have had is excuse after excuse, there is nothing stopping him making a further statement on the situation, the silence coming from his quarter is doing him no favours. If and I say if, there are genuine reasons for riders and fans still not receiving money they are owed and were promised why doesn't he say so?
  17. As a longtime sponsor of Eastbourne I wonder what Les Fineings thoughts are on this fiasco? Hope it doesn't affect his ongoing health but I don't expect he will be rushing to sponsor the Eagles again should they re-open. Ian Jordan has much to answer for but i suspect he may never be seen or heard from again (unless he has the audacity to show his face at Plymouth).
  18. I wonder where this all leaves Les Fineing of Fineprints as according to Companies House records he is joint shareholder with Ian Jordan which I would imagine would make him 50% responsible for any monies owed. Last time I heard Les Fineing mentioned at Arlington he had just come out of hospital after having heart surgery
  19. Just wondering has anyone had their refund recently? Apparently there's a bit in the Speedway Star about the riders still haven't been paid. Perhaps it's about time Mr. Jordan came clean and told the truth but I suppose that's too much to ask.
  20. BUT Rye House from their last season were the original Dad's Army but they never lived to tell the tale.
  21. According to the listing on Companies House he is a Director and PACE is still active. If I was a Plymouth supporter I'd be getting worried. The following is what was on the Plymouth website in January "The club have also announced Ian Jordan has moved away from his speedway role in order to focus on their PACE (Plymouth Arena Community Events) project aimed at ensuring the long-term security and stability of The Coliseum stadium and Plymouth Speedway."
  22. Totally agree but I think it will take a while to 're build the trust of fans and sponsors but I really hope someone can come in and do it. I loved my visits to Eastbourne and hope I will be able to again in the not too distant future.
  23. I'd support Eastbourne again but would have to be at Championship level at least as I have a very long journey each way to Arlington but I will never again buy a season ticket, too much damage has been done to fans trust etc by this fiasco.
  24. Perhaps it's time Lee Kilby and Trevor Geer made some sort of statement on the situation as co-promoters.
