  1. Don't think Ipswich management are too happy with all this, the raceday preview on their website dated 4th July keeps very slightly changing, first it said Vinnie Foord would be guesting then was amended to Jason Edwards would be guesting now it says "Vinnie Foord had been due to guest but the club were forced into a late change and it is Jason Edwards who now rides at number seven". If Workington riders have been banned from guesting it's a diabolical situation I don't like to see any club go under but Workington had 7 days to sort the problem but couldn't so they were given another 7 days to sort it and in the meantime riders are being deprived of being able to work through no fault of their own.
  2. I saw Vinnie in his first competitive ride which was at Eastbourne. Very enthusiastic, first ride he fell off on the back straight, he was going a bit eratically, everyone ran to see if he was OK, his dad jumped over the fence as well to check on him and got told by the referee that "he understood his concern for his son but please refrain from jumping the fence onto the track again". We never miss a home meeting but was debating whether to go this week as we have massive traffic problems getting there, A12 Gallows Corner, then Orwell Bridge but team declaration decided it - we'll be there can't wait to see what Vinnie does on our track ** After now reading more info - when we know who is actually riding Thursday I'll make my journey decision but probably will risk the traffic jams anyway as never missed a home meeting yet **
  3. Wish I'd seen your post earlier took us over 2 hours to do an hours journey. Could have watched on TNT but can't stand the drones eye view, wish I'd brought my fishing net I might have sorted it out once and for all !!
  4. We may or may not have got beat I think it was right to call it off with the weather forecast its pouring down at the moment where I am in Essex and I was 50/50 as to whether to make the 90 minute journey tonight. That aside it could be that Ipswich were also just trying to give you a bit more to get a full team for the meeting as you are also missing 2 riders at present, Ben Cook and Ashton Boughen.
  5. To change the subject I saw the Save Coventry Speedway Banner at Ipswich last night, mine and my other halves emails to Rugby Council are done. Too many stadiums are being lost to Developers who are only interested in lining their pockets every bit of support the Save Coventry group can get will help. There is a template on the Brandon Update in the News and Discussions section which is helpful and every email sent will help. For the sceptical among you Oxford came back with enough support maybe Coventry can too. Just to make this a legit Ipswich post I'm pleased Dan Thompson won last night I've watched him since his early practice days with his brother at Rye House (another lost stadium) on Sunday mornings and am pleased he's progressing well in the sport.
  6. Just sent in my comments using parts of the templates that IanB posted above which was very helpful, the more of us that comment the better.
  7. Yes as you say "don't stuff this one up Ippo", i'm really looking forward to the meeting but probably won't relax until we have 41 points in the bag. We watched the BSN stream from Belle Vue last Monday what a great result with good riding from every rider in the team, especially Dan Thompson who got rider of the night.
  8. Need a bit of advice please. As we have mobility issues, re standing for long or walking too far, can anyone let me know if there is seating areas in the stadium and any other info that you think might be useful re access, steps etc would be appreciated.
  9. Anyone know what the weather is like at the track
  10. Wasn't sure if this is of interest but just in case. For anyone traveling possibly up to Foxhall from the London/Essex areas that from March 10th until mid June there will be various lane closures at Gallows Corner but the main bit is from Mid JUNE until SEPTEMBER Gallows Corner Flyover and the roundabout below it will be completely closed to all traffic apart from emergency vehicles and buses. If your using that route might be best to start looking at best alternatives for your journey.
  11. I'd booked my Cardiff hotel but luckily on a refundable rate so i've just cancelled and will get my money back. I feel sorry for those who wont get a refund. The date should not have been announced months ago as I reckon many people probably booked the hotels on a non refundable basis due to the prices being cheaper. As much as I love the GP I doubt I'lll risk getting tickets for Manchester, I know some will say it doesn't rain much up there but if it does that could be a whole weekend wiped out. I wonder what the riders think about a double header GP ?
  12. Parkllife is in July. 11, 12, 16, 19, 20 July - Manchester, Heaton Park
  13. Preferable to a buy, but what happens if Poole win it, Championship club will be the holders of the Premiership KO Cup, very weird but lots of things are weird about Speedway rules anyway.
  14. Christer Lofqvist died 1978 from a brain tumour aged 33, always remembered by West Ham fans
  15. Hotel hasn't cottoned on yet then and hiked their prices so better book rooms quickly, refundable of course as we all know what the weather can be like in Manchester
  16. Wouldn't surprise me if no-one at the FIM has looked at other events happening on Manchesterand they all clash, we'll know this afternoon
  17. I could be totally wrong but I'll guess at either Saturday 12th or Saturday 19th July in Manchester as the nearest hotel to the stadium is showing no prices for those dates although they are showing other dates prices for most of next year
  18. The question now is if he comes through their meeting unscathed will Torun let him ride for Ipswich next week, if not I presume that will be a 28 day ban. I'm keeping fingers crossed that Emil gets a say in the decision and we see him in the UK fir the playoffs.
  19. They need to update their TV guide which they keep making mistakes on let's hope the broadcast crew know where to go
  20. Because Discovery's TV guide is useless, I've sent them numerous complaints but they still can't get it right. As an example 2nd September Sheffield are at home to Ipswich in the 1st leg of KO cup, this is listed on BSPA, Sheffield and Ipswich fixture lists but Discovery are showing it on their guide as being broadcast from Ipswich wonder where the outside broadcast team will end up?
