  1. I quite agree with you, your point makes it even more discriminatory against Nicholls and Kennett. Also this year you have Craig Cook riding for Premiership, Championship and he's a GP rider the rules should be the same for all (I have nothing against Cookie just using it as an example). To get even sillier when all the British riders doubling up get their new averages after a month will those who are doubling down to Championship but their Premiership averages increase to above 6 lose their Championship place - of course they won't. If I was Nicholls and Kennett I'd be furious at this discrimination let's hope they don't decide to retire Rye House will be in dire straights then as their 7th rider has yet to be named (KK?)
  2. Stupid decision by BSPA to uphold a rule that only affects 2 riders. I totally get the reason for bringing in a rule of this nature in the first place as doubling up caused too many problems and supporters didnt like it but surely when many riders that are doubling up this year have higher averages than Nicholls and Kennett the only thing this rule appears to achieved is to discriminate against these two. Nicholls and Kennett both ride for Rye alongside Chris Harris who I think has a higher average than both but he doubles up because he did last year. If a new rule is brought in it should be the same for everyone 6 average or above no doubling up. Does this mean riders with high averages at the end of the 2018 season and who doubled up can still double up in 2019 if so will riders who don't double up this year but want to in future try to keep their average low to enable them to. At the end of the day who benefits - certainly not Speedway that's for sure - no wonder it' in decline.
  3. Bloody predictive text I must remember to turn it off
  4. Did bring a smile to my face. I agree with you I think attendance will suffer. I'm in the fortunate position of being retired so work commitments will not be a problem but I've found in the past that travelling from East London to Rye during the week takes much longer, I will probably have to leave a lot earlier and risk the fish and chips for my meal - on second thoughts I may bring sandwiches. Seriously I hope week night meetings don't lead to the demise of Rye House we've lost too many teams already.
  5. As Woz01 said Sundstrom confirmed for Poole and your reply started "Where has that been confirmed?" I was under the impression that was what you were referring to.
  6. Sandstorm has been confirmed on the official Poole website
  7. Just seen Krystzof Kasprzak tweet of 19th January where he said he hasn't signed up to a UK team for this year yet - but he has agreed to ride in the Ben Fund - so the 7th Rye rider who is it saga continues! (sorry I'm not much good at links did try to paste it but gave up)
  8. Rye supporters, and anyone else who might be interested, should have a listen to the podcast mentioned above featuring Steve Jenson it's very interesting, it's about 45 minutes long but well worth it, I thought so anyway. Personally I agree with many of the points Steve made. Re fixed night racing unfortunately I think it will be difficult for children who have school next day and I hope it doesn't mean an end to the junior racing we had last year before most meetings although I fear it might. Perhaps it would be worth thinking about starting meetings at 7.45 instead of 7.30, although I don't expect that to be a popular idea with many it might help people who work during the week in getting to meetings, but I know that idea definitely won't help the youngsters. I just hope fans turn up in enough numbers as the Rye promotion seem to be putting in a lot of time and effort to help the sport survive.
  9. Swindon have to lose sooner or later - dont they - hope tonights that night Reckon a lot of us will probably be on the terraces watching the scoreline from Somerset on our phones, if we had won at Leicester a few weeks ago we wouldn't be in this position now, anyway onwards and upwards hopefully. Love the first half junior races after the nasty fall Charlie Jenson had last week just hope he's not too bruised to ride tonight - keep smiling Charlie.
  10. This meeting is not yet listed on the updates although the meeting for 1st September already is, does anyone know where I can follow the scores in case it is not on there later.
  11. another OOps by me - not a very good one either this time - sorry if I offended anyone I've now amended my original message.
  12. Morley usually rides OK at Rye hope he can do well tonight as we need all the points we can get in our last meetings if we stand any chance of the play offs.
  13. Oops somehow managed to start 2 threads at same time from my phone will delete the other one shortly from my computer (bigger keypad for old eyes makes it easier 😁)
  14. Can't see a thread for tonight's meeting wonder how many fans will remember it's on and raid their piggy banks. Anyway any predictions on the score as KK will move up with Robbo dropping back to reserve.
  15. The silence from both clubs with any information re why these meetings have not yet been rearranged makes me think they won't ever take place but I hope I'm wrong. My opinion is any rain off should be rearranged for a new date within a month of the cancellation. Rye's usual last race day is supposed to be a Saturday but lately most of them have been on a Wednesday and we even have one arranged in September for a Friday so any day for these meetings would be better than no meeting. Come on promoters if you happen to be looking at this forum get this farce sorted please.
  16. Any info re what time will I need to be at the car park to be certain of a spot will be appreciated as I can't do the long walk from the shopping centre, thanks.
  17. I just noticed that as well so after putting it in my diary I now have to cross it out - all good fun this, especially as we now have a home meeting on a Monday, 4th September, against Leicester - what happened with trying to stick to Saturdays ? I wonder what day will be picked out of the hat for the Swindon match !
  18. I am wondering that as well as Scott commentates for BT at the GP's and Rye haven't had any meetings on a Saturday when there is a GP meeting but I reckon he will ride as I don't think the Promoters will be happy if he chose commentating over riding as captain for his club.
  19. True, but as Palm Toft will be missing will KL have a guest in his place - EK perhap?
  20. Still not showing on the Rye fixture list is our 2nd home meeting against Swindon but it is now on the Swindon website as Saturday 19th August. I wonder if KK be riding or if it will be another NL guest - looks like another home thrashing to me but hope I'm wrong. Maybe we will see Eddie back again for Swindon perhaps after the good reception he got last Saturday the Promotion may be seeing the error of their team changes.
  21. Love your comment made us smile - and your probably right there and I'm a Rye fan :D
  22. I'm about 30 miles drive away in East London, massive black clouds passed over but no rain and now we have brilliant sunshine and lovely blue skies - great night for speedway - just need a winning team now
  23. Just looked at updates from Swindon v Leicester match tonight and it's saying Eddie Kennett to guest for Swindon on Saturday, he might not have scored many for Rye away but he certainly knows his way around Rye House track and he will probably be aiming for a maximum after being dumped. Could be a very interesting evening if it's not rained off.
