  1. Wow, Rye House Group or whoever, certainly seem to think they could do whatever they wanted on Green Belt Land, storage of high end vehicles, trailers, dump truck etc not to mention all the illegal building work thats gone on, OMG thank goodness the group trying to bring back Speedway to the site are on the case. As for East Herts Council it beggars belief how they do or do not keep a strict watch on sites within their Green Belt Area especially in Lee Valley Regional Country and Nature Park. Let's hope the Council now keep on the case and and if the Leaseholders at Rye House don't comply the Council should send in their own bulldozers and sort it and bill RHG for it.
  2. Oh for goodness sake! We all know 2.15pm or whatever start time is stated speedway meetings never start at the quoted time, whether its for more track work, people still queuing (which does happen occasionally) or even riders i.e Chris Harris being stuck in traffic so meeting delayed for 15 mins, and numerous other reasons over the past years. As for the 15 minutes of actual racing I go for the whole couple of hours for an evening/afternoon out of the house to meet like minded speedway fans etc not just to watch 15 minutes racing. I agree its annoying and needs looking at when we pay for 15 heats and only get to see 10 with the meeting declared especially when the last 5 could change the final result, although I don't think that would have applied yesterday. Please stop knit picking and be grateful if you still have a team to watch (but for how much longer) as many speedway supporters no longer have that available to them.
  3. That's one of the most sensible comments I've read on here about today's meeting, I've been really amused reading some of the other remarks. For goodness sake surely people should have better things to do than quibble over 15 minutes etc. I wasn't there today unfortunately but I always arrive ahead of the advertised time, I won't say start time, then I may get a drink, read my programme, have a chat with people around me etc, I don't sit and clock watch I've gone for an evening or afternoon out rather than sitting at home looking at four walls.
  4. I sm watching on Eurosport and I would say the coverage leaves a lot to be desired BSN coverage of meetings is far better
  5. That would depend on the traffic I would suggest keep checking the traffic reports and adjust your journey accordingly, common sense really.
  6. Possibly, because he said "heavy traffic" delayed him getting to the airport, if you have a plane to get you should assume heavy traffic/accidents/etc and leave home earlier than needed, it might mean sitting around in an airport lounge but at least you wouldn't need to use lame excuses for missing a plane.
  7. He didn't miss his plane, he was sitting on it when passengers had to get off due to technical issues
  8. I daresay they are trying to work out what to do/say as unlike Tungate he didn't miss his flight he was actually on the plane. Personally I don't think Doyle/Ipswich should be penalised for something that was clearly not their fault.
  9. There is an SCB statement , Doyle was on the plane but all passengers has to disembark due to a technical issue, I don't think there was much Jason could do about that unless he had his toolbox with him
  10. It is showing it as on with a preview of the meeting but on the same website the fixture list has been showing it as off for quite a while now, as you say not very impressive
  11. I'm of the older fan base, I hear swearing on the streets etc I don't like it but I accept its now part of life but when a Media day is to promote something as a sport for all to watch the excessive swearing used by Tai was unacceptable. His comments about punch ups on track and how they the riders should be paid/applauded as they put the viewing figures through the roof were also out of order. If there's an incident on track and in the heat of the moment riders resort to fisticufs it happens so be it, let the referee put it in his report etc but to use it to promote speedway is wrong. Phil Morris should hold more media days, with louder microphones, but have a word with riders/participants first about what is or is not acceptable, surely people can make a relevant point minus the bad language.
  12. Scott Nicholls is now listed as guesting for Doyle tonight
  13. Perhaps he could have a word with some of his relatives on behalf of all of Eagles fans re allowing speedway back at Arlington - we live in hope
  14. Perhaps if there is another broadcast live conference and also when being interviewed during live streamed meetings riders should be told beforehand to moderate their language, surely they can discuss/make comments without the swearing then they would come across as more professional.
  15. Well done to all the Save Coventry Group, lets hope this is one step closer to bringing back Speedway to Brandon.
  16. Genuine question, is there a scale/table of fines ie £1500 for failing a drug test, £3000 for bringing the sport into disrepute etc or is a figure just plucked out of the air and also what happens if the fine isn't paid, does it just increase (like parking tickets) or do bailiffs get sent in or is it just written off?
  17. How is the following condition to work when obviously if you have a booked drug test on a certain date you won't be partaking in the previous couple of days unless you are really stupid . "Must undergo regular testing, furnishing the results to the SCB, for the two months prior to resuming racing, at his own expense."
  18. First time? First time he got caught do you mean, speedway is dangerous if you do drugs don't get on a speedway bike and put others at risk of serious injury.
  19. Just read this on Max Perry's facebook page. " Just to update. Max is in a bad way. He is talking. Broken wrist, broken fingers, suspected broken ribs, knee, ankle, leg. Off to John Radcliffe he is On Morphine and IV pain relief. " Hope he can get well soon.
  20. Robert Lambert or Artem Laguta ? they like riding for clubs for the last couple of meetings to boost their trophy cabinets.
  21. Maybe the best new speedway track in the UK with a roof (ha ha) but you never know !
  22. https://www.thurrockhammers.com/2023-news/arena-essex-site-sold/ Hope the above link works
  23. Let's hope so, perhaps high on his agenda should be how the riders talk on TV and the centre green microphone etc. Also perhaps if a rider has a grievance with the Ref the Team Manager should sort it out not "riders having a word with the Ref"
