  1. But the question that someone needs to ask East Herts Council is "are you now going to take action against the owners/leaseholders of Rye House who have quite clearly put buildings on the site that do not conform to the plans passed by the Council?" In other words make them remove them or adjust them to comply with the plans they passed.
  2. Discovery Sport app schedule is now saying Premiership play off 1st leg 3rd October (Tuesday)
  3. Or he might be available if Glasgow gets rained off !! (I hope not)
  4. Just logged out and logged in again and now have commentary
  5. I'm watching on Eurosport but got no commentary
  6. And on your point 2 what a bl..dy stupid rule that is. Chris Harris is just earning a living but he had a good meeting for Ippo against Belle Vue, will he have a good meeting or a bad meeting for Sheffield against Ippo, it leaves so much to interpret in our sport no wonder its losing credibility by the bucketful.
  7. Quite agree Teams can use guests not involved in the play offs BUT quite simple really Harris has been involved in the play offs he scored 10 + 3 for Ipswich against Belle Vue.
  8. I managed to find it after a lot of searching that wasn't easy and there are 32 pages of it and too much for me to read and take in but the words " inappropriate use within the green belt" kept popping up and buildings that were put up but didn't conform to the original plans that the council agreed to. I've pasted the Conclusion below. I would add that although the Council cannot force the speedway to be re-instated I would assume that as it had operated there for many years if someone came along who wants to re-instate it I don't see how the Council could object as they never tried to have it shut it down in the past. Conclusion To conclude the application amounts to inappropriate development in the Green Belt. Further to the harm by inappropriateness, the proposal would provide further harm to the openness of the Green Belt. No very special circumstances exist to outweigh this harm. Furthermore, the proposal is not considered to be within a sustainable location due to the reliance on private vehicles to access the site and the lack of any offer to provide highway improvement works as part of the scheme. The design of the scheme is considered unacceptable due to the level and style of the hardstanding and fencing proposed and due to the lack of any meaningful soft landscaping, the proposal provides insufficient justification for the level of vehicle parking, disabled parking and cycle storage on site, the proposal is considered unacceptable with regards to flood risk, drainage and the impact on the river and insufficient and conflicting information has been provided to demonstrate a biodiversity net gain on site or to demonstrate compliance with climate change and water resource policies. In accordance with the above, it is recommended that permission is refused.
  9. True, but have to disagree on one point, Harris will not (hopefully, fingers crossed etc) help Sheffield win the title, he may well be trying to "find the right set up Monday night" Ipswich are having it, come on you Witches.
  10. Quite agree re Harris, just hope there's a very loud silence stadium when he's announced, just hope he has a night when he's trying to find the right set up.
  11. I just received an email, probably along with many other people, from East Herts Council that the planning application to turn Rye House into a community leisure and sports hub and also for retrospective removal of the speedway track has today been refused.
  12. Wish I could be there but can't but I'll be watching on TV - come on the Witches - hope my neighbours have earplugs as I do try to recreate the stadium atmosphere in my front room.
  13. I thought that but on looking closer at the groups it looks like they get 3 rides each and then discount the lowest ride hence 4, 2, 5 = 9, 5, 4 1 = 9 etc
  14. So lets hope the rest of the Witches can do their best for him and keep us in with a fighting chance for Thursday, after the brilliant atmosphere last week when we won the KO cup.
  15. Anyone remember the 2022 British Final when it pi$$ed it down? Chris Harris was on 3, 3, 2 and wasn't happy when the meeting was abandoned, Danny King was on 3, 3, 1 (before anyone says anything I know Bewley was on 8 as well). Lets hope Chris can repeat that performance tonight if meeting goes ahead. I'm staying optimistic as I hope all other Witches fans will be.
  16. For goodness sake, yes we're up against it, so what let's all try to send positive vibes not negative ones all the time. If the meeting goes ahead I'll be watching on TV, probably with everything crossed but until the 2nd legs finished I'll keep the faith as I hope all Witches supporters will.
  17. Out of interest who actually carries out the test, is it the medical people in attendance or the referee or an independent person employed solely to do the test. Also how do they choose who to test, anyone know?
  18. Oh yes we do - its all about the points and we got them. Leicester threw it away
  19. If you only watched the last 8 heats sounds like your not very interested then, people go to Cardiff for the whole weekend and meeting other fans and enjoying a bit of banter in all the restaurants and pubs round the city before and after the meeting. Belle Vue might produce better racing but it cant match or come anywhere near Cardiff for the facilities around the town and stadium.
  20. Went last year, track not good but Bewley made my night. Didn't go this year partly because of trains on strike and partly because of funds. I watched on TV and it looked good will be there next year definitely. I do wish people would stop being so negative, things change but life goes on if we love speedway start getting behind it whether its good or bad and perhaps good times may come again with a bit more support verbally.
  21. How did Laguta do ? Oh yes 4 rides 1 point when he finished 3rd in front of our 16 year old guest rider Ashton Boughen. Never mind there's always the next Panthers meeting for Laguta to show his world class riding !!
