  1. thats crazy. Fortunately doesn't look like much chance it will be off on weds.
  2. Newcatle were my favourites (other than Glasgow) at the start of the season. For me this is about the Heat leaders. We did well enough in Newcastle during the season, but the track was a mess that night and I'd be delighted if we kept this to 10 in Newcastle tbh.
  3. The butchershop at the bottom of Kelvin way is very good (£15 two courses) Top end.
  4. Hopefully we get a big crowd to get behind the team, can understand the complaints re: grading etc. but I think the pressure has started to show a bit throughout the whole club lately. These are the good times, though, and I like to see some cash flowing back to the owners after the investments made. I think we can win this by a comfortable margin, taking account of the guests and RR situation. Hopefully that's what we get! Injuries should be a bit better, Summers should be feeling fitter, and Cote should have his gear more to his liking. Agree with this, just need the weather to play ball, and get the 15 heats.
  5. As it stands Somerset look to be shoe ins for the title, which is no disgrace to anyone else tbh. They are a hell of a side with strength in depth AND oustanding HL's. Fair enough if you are throwing matches you should win, but this Somerset have looked head and shoulders to me any time I've seen them this season. Although I still think Newcastle look great on paper.......
  6. Hopefully, looking at the weather it could still end up being the 1st leg. Fingers crossed.
  7. Congratulations to Somerset, Looks to have been a walkover tbh. Didn't see tonights meeting but we have lately been a shadow of the team that we can be. We need to keep the heads up for Sunday and our cup final against Newcastle. BTW Nothing I say on an internet forum either helps or hinders Glasgows chances, I just like to remain positive until the end.
  8. I've run this meeting through my computer simulator and at first I thought the results were wrong ... but after rerunning I can confirm. GLASGOW TO WIN BY 8. ITS A NAIL ON. Batter in lads.
  9. Just want the lads to come out of this unscathed tbh. Too many falls and injuries for us lately. Bates and his 'mechanic' will hopefully have left their boxing gloves at home.
  10. IMO it is crazy to base a league on what riders want due to their primary club commitments.
  11. I just hope Bates isn't allowed to run in the kids race next time he's up at Ashfield. It's too much of a risk. I overheard in the pits that he's desparate to get his hands on Roary's bag of sweets. Apparently he had to be held back from punching Michael Max when told he was too old to enter. All rumour of course, but sadly I believe it.
  12. Greyhounds are on the way out really, I'd have thought any new option would be better sharing with American football, or rugby or something.
  13. We need to perform down at Sheffield. At reserve we may really struggle.
  14. I am struggling to work out what the Sheffield team will be - what exactly is up with Garriy / Stead - are they both not riding?
  15. From a Glasgow point of view it added a bit of spice to the deflated feeling we had at the time. Bates certainly appeared a real hothead, but fair enough. The mechanic who dived in though was the problem for me. They should get a talking to before every meeting and told that under no circumstances should they get involved.
  16. Best team won, we had a couple of let downs but Somerset are a class outfit. Roll on next week. Really looking forward to welcoming Bates back next week, wee dick.
  17. GLASGOW THROUGH. IN THE FINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL Hope a decent turnout at Worky and get sorted for 2017.
  18. These things happen - in case anyone forgets our starting tapes last season.
