Nah. I thought maybe that's why there was no thread. On my head be it. -

I know from bitter personal experience there's only so long you can get away with wrapping 10p's in foil to fit the 50p slot. Surely for next season Campbell should invest in a drill and a piece of copper wire to stop the meter spinning. It's the twenty first century ffs. *Edited to add - remember to remove the wire before Landlord visits. -
If Ford want's blue blood he's going to have to sign UK based riders, surely.

This is why Poole would need to accept a lower level to expand the EL. I don't know what their average attendence is but I'd imagine they are head and shoulders above the rest. Even Belle Vue (for all the criticism this season) are miles above most. When yu have a franchise system like Speedway you nee to level it out or it doesn't work.

Hopefully sense will prevail. Given the happenings around speedway at the moment fines are the last thing we need. -
nl hopefully. As long as you can put out a competitive team in whatever league there's entertainment to be had. Fingers crossed

My point is: A top rider rides in Poland. Flies into Manchester airport, Rides at Belle Vue. Flies back. This guy ain't driving down South.

Holder has looked on his way out all season.
-
Definately a point in there somewhere. Football can support meaningless fixtures on the telly and Sky must be delighted with the playoffs but less keen on some of the meetings earlier in the season. This sixteen rider thing would be good right enough. The various individual championships have kind of lost their sheen.
-
There needs to be a rethink of some sort for this to work. Poole would have to accept a weaker overall team structure (I'd expect) to allow other teams to compete. There would have to be strict rules to stop rich teams bringing in ringers for the playoffs. We all want to see top riders but it would need to be done in a more transparent and open (fair) way. Clubs objecting to others ace nights would have to be scrapped. TV matches should be branded by the EL, surely wouldn't be that difficult. Make it look attractive. IE stadiums provided with a kit out and club officials looking like club officials (I know I sound old fashioned but it does make a difference). Coventry looks like a bunch of dope smokers have broken into an abandoned stadium and are having a bit of a carry on. Cut the season window down. Playoffs finished by End of September barring catastrophe.

No, I'm in Scotchland. I realise it's grim up North but I can guarantee you Manchester has it's own international airport.

Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...

I'm about to watch this again, start to finish. It was pure theatre and Belle Vue does look good when it's full. Next year I really really really need to get down to the EL final. -
Reading that article reminds me why I love to hate Ford . He talks like a real professional sports manager. Must admit I'm glad we've got Dickson at Glasgow for the same reason.

100% I'd hate to see Speedway go the sanctimonious way of football. It's part of Speedway. -

Tai's got small man syndrome -
Belle Vue have a better chance of attracting GP riders than anyone else in Britain. That track and ease of transport to Manchester. I'm sure Holder and the likes would consider it. I think Cook will continue to improve. Would be reluctant to get rid of either Worral . Probably need to free up Nicholls points. Lindgren would be a coup. Not sure about Lambert but if he took to it he has the potential to add two to his average.

Why was Nige so over the top condemning Cook's bust up - I really like them as commentators but it was almost as if it was football.....oh dear oh dea,sad scenes etc. Speedway's more like Ice hockey, bit of a punch up adds to the meeting. -

Awesome night's entertainment. Heat 13 was out of this world. Karlsson a legend. I would bite your hand of to have Cook in my team. 100% + Lemon a genuine good guy who has taken a far from perfect team to the top of the table and second place in an immensly difficult season. Droll Adams good value for money as ever. Tai? Ach he's a great rider and if he's back next year the fans know how to rile him. Surely Nicholls heading to a small track next season. No faulting his effort but it just isn't suiting him. Karlsson Karlsson Karlsson. Just an amazing night, all in. Hopefully some newbies watched that. What a sport, what an atmosphere, what a spectacle. -

Just hoping this is a safe one for all concerned. Glesga crew will be there in style. Regardless of his on track antics, Fisher is one of the nicest people you could meet at speedway (imo) -

Hopefully this is not over by heat 3 - If ever there was a night for Zagar and Nicholls to produce the goods this is it. Pretty certain the Worrals and Cook will perform and Joe will do OK. -
An incredible amount raised and lest you forget, contributed to by the likes of ME, a weegie. The rivalry brings in money to both clubs and creates an atmosphere unlike anything else in the UK.

Yeah, get Middlo in. Get's knocked out in the semis but talks a good game. You must be joking!!!!!
