  1. Is the outcome now known? Has Jenga been allowed to return as a paying spectator?
  2. They are long words and difficult concepts for the BSPA to deal with. If you turn up, spin a Great Tale about your financial wealth and Pot Of Gold and Super Duper Plans for a multi motorsports centre, Blah Blah and you can put up the Bond ( no one seems quite sure how much this is but should be related to your wages bill when you sign riders ) All is well and the blazer is yours. Hopefully those days are now behind us?
  3. Godfrey and Chapman SHOUT the loudest in any "discussion" and invariably get their way. They will be swept away in the end but sadly so will speedway as we know it in the UK.
  4. Just as the grass will return as green as ever when it rains, promoters believe that the sport in the UK will always bounce back because it has strong foundations and a long history. I believe that that history is coming to an end because of things like fractured fixture lists and .......... well, you can add the rest yourselves.
  5. It seems that when the sport of speedway throws up more than competent people within it, who can carry it forward, they are always lost to it. Or sometimes driven out or forced out leaving staid administrators who like the idea that it's alright as it is. Tinkering every year with how it's run but with no thought that re-structuring is required. Yes I know they are the money men but their dollop of dosh coming in from speedway has evaporated and for most of them it must now be a drain on their resources.
  6. Buster has, it seems, "seen the light" and has agreed that two ambulances will be on duty at King's Lynn matches in future. The need to keep the customer satisfied suddenly seems important and I applaud that ( sincerely ). As I do with the most acceptable offer on refunds for that match last Weds. which was marred by lack of medical cover. I hope other promotions take note that happy punters may well return regularly, whereas unhappy ones walk away.
  7. The BSPA is a misnomer. Yes, it is an association but of the loosest kind. It has little overall interest in the sport as a whole, it purports to represent British Speedway but does little to concern itself with how the entire sport is run. As "custodians" of the sport in Great Britain ( well England and Scotland ) it has failed in many ways as when it had the opportunity with Wimbledon in 2002. That should have been developed as the then Jewel in the Crown - a presence in the capital to "show off" with. We now have such a facility at the NSS but with little to thank the BSPA for about its creation. The sport is now too weak across the country to make good use of what is today's Jewel in the Crown. At least on a Monday! And thereby hangs a tale.
  8. You are right the track lends itself to Gate & Go, Tapes to Flag heat wins and with very little passing or real racing ( not none but very little ). Not sure how good it will look on TV. Is there a price reduction? I hope so because it looks like a better show for the uninitiated if there are plenty of fans in the stadium.
  9. Eric Riss as my choice IF possible. A real racer!
  10. Quite the right thing to do KLS and promptly done too. Keep the customer satisfied ( well as much as possible ).
  11. I agree, so HOW do we organise a national petition of fans who support a NO Confidence motion in Keith Chapman as Chairperson of the BSPA? I have organised paper ones but not online digital ones. Anyone can help us? And let's hear from others re a Thumbs Up OR a Thumbs Down on the idea.
  12. We are boringly and regularly told that the BSPA can internally vote for XYZ idea or person and bring about changes quite easily but I really don't believe that it is so straightforward or changes for the better would have been made long before this. No group of business men & women could be so stupid as to watch for over 10 years while their business melted away. Could they?
  13. It's about how the fans are treated by KLS ( and that Is Buster ) I will happily give 50% of my refund to Lewis. How much will I be donating Buster?
  14. Most of the blame for what went wrong everywhere Horton promoted was his fault. A Buster Jr. wannabe.
  15. 3x or 4x the number of fans through the gates, who didn't much care how the sport was run IF the racing was decent.
  16. Well as the current Chairperson of the BSPA that must be him. I think that like many others, he thought he knew best, only to find it turn to ashes in his hands. The only true Top Man, of course, is God the Father ( assuming He does have a gender tag ) and even Buster cannot believe that he aspires to reach that highly?
  17. OK R&R tell us how you did it? Is there something like Photoshop for video? Are the riders in Poland controlled by the team manager with a remote control ( as in Scalectrix )? Is there some magic material on the track surface to encourage and permit passing? Can this incredible speedway only be done on Polish tracks? Are the bikes in the UK too fast for the tracks? Or is is correct that the £1,000 per point in Poland is a Big motivating factor? THIS is proper speedway as somebody once said! More like this would have fans flocking to the tracks over here! I have not seen such good races over the 2017 season here ( and including the first few of 2018 ) but this match had more! Now I know why I fell in love with the sport in the first place. To anyone who can watch it -the build up on this thread by R&R IS true!
  18. If the match goes to penalties I don't think England's luck will hold. And I am not confident that England can win in open play.
  19. Is there no-one else at KLS who can agree on a quote and Tweet it or add two lines to the website? I don't expect Buster to handle every single thing at KLS ( NOT even he could do that! ). But there are more than a few clustered around him, acolyte style, some of them being paid. What exactly does the new co-promoter do?
  20. That's the point - it IS struggling as it is. No -one is prepared to pay for the GP stars to return ( at £500 to £1,000 a point ) and it can't survive now, as it is. The only way is a lower overall calibre of rider. "Stars" will emerge from that level and you would want to see them race. That is what happens in the NL. Drew Kemp is a superstar at that level. When they get to an even higher level then Poland and Sweden are the places for them to earn a crust.
  21. But he does not seem to want to make any public announcement via any kind of media about what kind of refund he is willing to make. Why? For those fans who say there should be no clamour for refunds, that's OK throw away your ticket stubs ( perhaps you already have ) for those like me who feel cheated ( again ) by Buster, do want to know what kind of gesture he will make. Please tell us even if it is to confirm what is in the programme. I don't know because I can't afford to buy one and waste the money on a programme.
  22. Many King's Lynn fans are appalled at what has happened at their club since Keith Chapman attained his lifetime ambition to "do things his way" not just at one club, but at them all. Your's as well as mine. And not merely do things his way but " it's my way or the highway" without listening to you or being concerned about the effect of his decisions on fans ( backed up by the others who must be hypnotised and are now a secretive gang ). It's really not unlike post-war Russia in the 1950's. Thankfully their policies have not killed anyone, only killed off the sport. Only the Top Man knows all and is never wrong.
  23. That is how I feel too. It's a dive in nosebag of cash ( instead of oats ) for riders of whom there will soon be more than fans. There are about 50 fans for each rider in a match. At some clubs less than that. Do the maths of the finances. Doesn't add up at all. All of us hope that the slide can be halted, but hope will not carry us any nearer that happening. There will be a few "black" tracks operating outside of anything like the BSPA within 5 years - running Open meetings. Only someone with vision ( perhaps J Chapman ) and matched with someone with serious money could pull together the best remnants of what we have at the moment. Nothing else will do it.
  24. STEVEHOLS54 wrote this " There are enough successful business heads within the BSPA but they have to find common ground on a way forward in a format all can ultimately live with. Its either that or the sport is doomed in its current format. If it also means more flexibility on race nights even if it does mean some of the top riders pass on UK then so be it but for sure something has to be done." This is the best comment on the state of speedway in the Uk I have read. We need to encourage the BSPA to go with this.
