Had a great weekend in Warsaw for 1st time visit as part of a group on a 30 years reunion, met on way to Munich 1989 !!, Warsaw was so cheap reasonable priced hotel, wuffy was staying Friday nite, think he over did breakfast going by his scores Saturday night !! Looking to return next year as lots cheaper than Cardiff, Also scooters looked fun need to find out how to hire them, saw a couple of retired northern speedway riders enjoying themselves bombing about on Sunday afternoon,

Think practice is around 18.00 thought I heard bt sport saying on Saturday nite, that it was showing it live, I'm in Warsaw for my 1st gp abroad, would it be worth going to watch practice ? Also on gp day is their an area fans gather before going to stadium, thanks for any info

If the potential line up is not known why should I travel 250 mile round trip to watch the likes of sarj and co !!!! Just saying, want to know who I am potentially going to watch, spending £18 admission and £40 on petrol plus food

Several people interested to be coming up from Workington (land of champions ) but if no line up announced may have a big effect on attendance.

After reading season preview in speedway star, Mr cammy knickers wants Tigger's to have more luck this year !! Think last year you were beat by a better team !! Now thinking Berwick side this year resembles that better team from last year, good luck bandits in Tigger land. By the way just over 1 week to cookies testimonial any riders known yet ? Got my h18tory tee shirt to wear next week !!

Town are susposed to vacate Derwent park in may for a new pitch to be installed, return in June, the last ever reds match at borough park is around 22 April then reds will play at a lower level (Sunday !!) league from August at Derwent park, but shhhh nothing official yet !! Then in 2021 the new bells and whistles super douber new 8000 capacity stadium will open, but I doubt they Will get 8000 in total over a full season in there, white elephants spring to mind

Think ££££ signs come to mind !!! But a rumour I hear is that he is struggling to get a line up, lots of meetings at Easter home and abroad

Geoff rules changed a while ago, if a rider has been in speedway for 10 years he can apply/be put forward to be considered for a testimonial, does not have to have at a club/with same promotion for 10 years, the powers that be decide if one is granted, imo I find this wrong as every Tom dick and Harry could be entitled to one, but lots don't apply, maybe it's just ones who like money apply, oops what have I just said !!: )

Was a good nite yea a bit of efin and gefin but did not spoil it,was packed out did not rate Tai before the event, but came over very well now got my respects, one thing he did say he does not like the team GB team manager !!

On a positive Cumbrian note it's good to see 3 Cumbrian marras in the recently announced team GB squad, Craig cook, Richard Lawson and Dan bewley

Thanks for the invite but rough park is one of my least favourite tracks, it was bad enough going to watch comets beat the diamonds, never mind coming to watch any team beat the diamonds no offence

Yea 2 hours plus to see speedway, I did it after we closed in 1981, but then I was young and daft with money to buy petrol which was relatively cheap,and traveled all over the country and to overseas world finals, now I'm older and more sensible !!! And petrol more expensive and takes longer to get to places, so will have to be more selective on my travels, going to Warsaw gp for 3 nites cheaper than Cardiff for 2 nites, so maybe more of this to be done

In all the cup competitions I believe the comets management provided the medels to give the riders, the beloved Bspa did not provide any !! And I was told the shield for the shield final was not the official one, this was lost by the Bspa, it was on loan from a collector of speedway items,

Just out of interest what assets/riders do comets own, I can only think of mason and Rene who are riding, probably others on list who have retired.

Yes a very sad day for comets and fans but to be honest not totally unexpected with over a six figure loss last year, thanks to Laura for the last 6 years, as without her we would not have been able to say 3 times champions, at least I have seen us win the league after 48 years supporting the comets
