  1. Nicholls and Masters got to be odds on this time around. Only seroius challengers Redcar and Poole if Lawson fancies it.
  2. Believe he did catch a finger or fingers in the mesh but haven't heard anything regarding his condition.
  3. Must admit I was surprised how much Ace struggled with the Northside track when guesting against Redacr especially as he rode for us last season.
  4. Thanks to the Bandits fans and neutrals who made the journey, always good to see other speedway fans at meetings. Some good close racing once again and it was good to see Lewi Kerr finally come to the party for the Bandits with 3 good heat wins in the second half of the meeting. Drew Kemp once again showed up well in support. Rider replacement never really worked for the Bandits with only 4 points from Rory's scheduled rides in consecutive meetings. Jye Etheridge was again disappointing while Danyon Hume and guest Connor Coles tried hard throughout. Thanks again to the guests Eric Riss and Simon Lambert for their determined efforts over the two meetings , you never quite know how guests are going to perform but these two never stopped trying over both meetings. Eric's pass in heat 15 to go from 4th to 2nd was top drawer. A solid 6 points from Paul Stark were once again valuable and it was great to see Antti back on the bike after his fall on Saturday and putting in another strong home performance. Batch was once again solid and it was good to see him back winning races at the GT Tyres Arena after surprisingly failing to do so against both Poole and Redcar in our two previous home meetings. Hopefully Sam will take confidence from his heat 2 win it's been a while. Hope Claus is okay following his nasty looking crash in heat 6. UTC !!
  5. Think the promotion will need to be very shrewd . In some ways team building for next season could be more difficult than this season but one thing for sure a strong No 1 and 5 along with always having a strong reserve have to be the pre-requisites for me.
  6. League does not want watered down any further. Hopefully a minimum of 40 points for next season.
  7. must admit I haven't seen this but it seems to have attracted a few comments most of which haven't been complementary.
  8. Disappointing to have finished your home meetings so soon, I know I wouldn't like the comets to be in that situation so early in August.
  9. After 3 heats and 12-6 down it was looking like it could be a long night but the Comets steadied the ship. 6 heat advantages from the last 7 heats won us the meeting. Mechanical failures evened themselves out while perhaps crucially the Bandits had 3 tape exclusions 2 of these in heats 13 and 15. The comets had ultimately sealed victory in heat 14. Eleven heat winners for the Comets undoubtedly helped win the meeting with stand in skipper Troy Batchelor again displaying what a good gater he is. Claus Vissing's best performance for many weeks was crucial while guests Eric Riss and Simon Lambert were solid and scored good points. Drew Kemp was easily best for the Bandits who started brightly but the Bandits weren't able to hold off the Comets in the second half of the meeting. I'm sure it will be closer at Northside for the return and the Comets will need to be on it. I hope Antti Vuolas is available following his off because he has been an important cog in the wheel at Northside this season. UTC !!
  10. 75% of Claus average was 4.74. Only riders who could have guested were all riding in the Scunny v Plymouth meeting.
  11. Thanks to the Bears fans who made the journey over good to see you all . Comets weren't in front until heat 13 so you guys must have been slightly disappointed you didn't go away with all 3 points, the aggregate bonus was at least some consolation. I think the destination of the bonus was set during the first half of the meeting when the Bears posted 4 heat advantages and Comets suffered 2 mechanical failures when in scoring positions. In lots of ways I'm left reflecting what might have been this weekend if certain Comets team members had been present but that's another story. To those that represented Comets in their absence I would like to say thank you for giving your best it was appreciated by the fans. Antti Vuolas was superb in this meeting and showed how much it meant to him, some of his racing especially heat 9 when coming from behind against Danny King was edge of seat top drawer speedway, his best performance of the season for me topped off by a superb match winning ride in heat 15, fantastic. Big wraps to Paul Starke who's battling performance from reserve especially his 4th to 2nd in the heat 12 5-1 turned the meeting. The Bears battled hard and were pretty solid again throughout with Danny King best on the day while guest James Pearson gave a battling performance at No2. The Bears have still to go to Glasgow for their final away meeting, this could be a cracker in terms of fighting to make the playoffs. UTC !!
  12. With Jordan Jenkins in good form last night for the Comets who rides Berwick well then I fancy an away win here.
  13. Big thanks to Jordan Jenkins for his great battling effort as a guest for the Comets. Batch was a superb skipper last night leading from the front, his gating was back to its best and he was quick on track. in some ways it was very disappointing because with Cookie and Claus a win could well have been on but well done the Bears on their win you were the more solid team. Thanks to young Ace piper for stepping into the difficult No2 position, he improved during the meeting and was right on the pace in heat 13. Antti was a little below par not his usual sharpness from the gate . Gonna be a big meeting at the GT Tyres Arena, heaven knows who will be Comets No1 . UTC !
  14. If true then Claus is blameless and deserves no criticism.
  15. might make it if he left right after heat 10 and there were no delays, but surely he won't be trying this.
  16. Not possible unless he is travelling by Helicopter.
  17. Antti guesting at No6 tonight for Leicester in place of Cookie.
  18. Started the season like a house on fire but we haven't seen that Claus for quite a few meetings now. Apparently " Vissing's Gone Missing' is a term within the Speedway world.
  19. What's happened there is indeed a good question. The promotion must be spitting feathers over this . Here we are at the business end of the season and Vissing goes missing for 2 very important fixtures. Without more information it looks on the face of it very unproffesional especially as no facility has been granted. No disrespect to Ace but Claus has scored 10 and 9 at Redcar this season so it is a huge ask for the young man.
  20. Very good financial reasons for that me thinks.
  21. Lawson, Brennan and Ben Cook are arguably the fastest gaters in the Championship and also very quick when in front so passing them is difficult. Justin Sedgeman did manage to beat them all at Wimborne Rd when Edinburgh visited last but he needed his top gating boots on to do it. The thing is the Poole heat leaders are very consistent (Rich Lawson has been for years), very professional with very good equipment. They also seem to ride well everywhere they go. Tom Brennan has progressed and been a top signing, probably rider of the season to date.
  22. In my experience kids do get bored at Speedway . Keeping them more entertained is definitely something promoters should be looking at. Sure the adults would appreciate more entertainment during track grades and intervals also. Chase at Belle Vue does a great job. Like lbw stated you very often can't hear portable mic interviews so these are often of little value entertainment wise unless the sound quality is very good.
