Redcar v Newcastle Select 24/3
Diamonds85 replied to Yearbyred's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Think Redcar's team this year is one of the better in the league, 3 brilliant heat leaders, 2 solid second strings and no matter who at reserve good, young lads at reserve... Think they're in with a shout of silverware this year and I want to thank the club for allowing the Diamonds to race once again, even if it was only for the one meeting. It's my closest track so I'm sure I'll be back across the a66 a few more times this year. Can't wait to see Jake Mulford grow over the season, I can see him having a big year both for Belle Vue and Redcar, he's certainly got something about him, especially at 18. -
Sheffield -V- Belle Vue 23rd March
Diamonds85 replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hello. This is my first time coming to Sheffield in the car, can someone please let me know if the big car park to the south west of the stadium is for the speedway and if it costs anything? And if it does can I pay by card or cash only? Thanks -
Ipswich vs Peterborough 23rd march
Diamonds85 replied to Gasser90's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I imagine that there's people at the track now... they must have some kind of idea whether it's going to be on or not, why no update? This is why there's little away followings in speedway, always uncertainty sometimes right up until start time, not appealing travelling the whole country for nothing... -
Personally think that Dan Gilkes (injury free) may give Leon a run for his money for strongest, but I do agree, Leon really is a good rider to have at number 7...

It's.......... Purple? Wtf is purple purple and blue purple?

It's not so much the weather on the day you've got to look at, it's how much water has the track soaked in over the past few weeks that's got to be worrying... This isn't something that happens overnight so it amazes me that the trackstaff at Redcar didn't foresee this on Sunday... Or did they? It is frustrating as a fan in situations like this, it's almost like our time and money is an afterthought but oh well...

Sheffield -V- Belle Vue 23rd March

Does anyone know the riding order for both teams? -
Decent looking side and hopefully will give a very strong Redcar team a challenge... Looking forward to seeing the result, good luck to everyone and I really hope Max gets signed up somewhere soon...
-
Just hope it's on Had the hotel booked since Emil's announcement
-
Paul Bowen is an alright signing, plenty character in the pits, decent rider on a 3 something average Luke Muff, I seriously don't understand all the hype... Unreliable, bad attitude, not even got very much potential... As you can tell he has swindled me (and many others) in the past, very disappointing side put out by the Colts this year, and it started off so well with Jack Smith, Sam Hagon and Matt Marson... Freddie Hodder looks a good prospect too
-
When practice at Scunthorpe, riders are required to have a SCB licence and are required to sign a day long insurance form, I imagine Jack Thomas is the same in that regard.
-
Oh dear..... how much to play with for the final rider, I'm guessing about 9ish?
-
People may not be impressed with this signing, but if you look at the other reserves in the league he's better than most (Not Zaine Kennedy, Jacob Hook, arguably Lee Complin, Kyle Newman, Jason Edwards, Joe Thompson perhaps), and if he can capture ANY sort of form should be pushing the likes of Alfie for that main body position again. I still think Birmingham's team looks the weakest in the league however...
-
As far as I know the under 24 ekstraliga is a mid week league?? Also Keynan Rew is a brilliant rider and one of the world's top prospects... he would tear the championship apart imo... he'd be an 8 point rider by the end of the season
-
If yous drop Newman you can fit Batchelor and Ablitt... but Kyle wouldn't fit in at Birmingham who are the only team with a spot left to fill, so it would be a bit harsh...

SGB Championship 2023 Confirmed Signings
Diamonds85 replied to Nickinho's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Is it really THAT important? -
I've had the pleasure of visiting several fences over the last 6 years or so I've been riding, and I must say scunthorpe is one of the least forgiving... thankfully I'm not as quick as some of the previously mentioned riders, but it still hurts a lot more than say Newcastle, Redcar, Kings Lynn, never was quite sure why. There have been numerous severe injuries in the amateur meetings too down the years, where riders have hit the 'safety fence' at relatively slow speed and came out with serious injuries, although I do admit some of these instances are older riders who don't bounce quite the same. There needs to be an investigation into scunthorpes fence at least, even if it turns out to be good enough, better safe than sorry in these circumstances.

Could ipswich not move danyon to the rising start position and have anders rowe at number 6? If my memory serves me right they've got about a point to play with (I'm still working on the basis that rew is a 4.00, not sure if that's the case or not though?) And actually would that not move rew to 6 and Rowe at 2?
-
I would hardly call an extra 35 meters as 'twice the size'... I think the original poster was just referencing the speed of the tracks I guess?
-
Wonder what our select team at Redcar is going to be then..... I am so grateful for the Bears for being able to put this meeting on, although I am unable to attend due to work 1. Steve Worrall 2. Max Clegg 3. Lewis Kerr 4. James Wright/Connor Mountain 5. Ben Barker/Richie Worrall 6. Adam Roynon 7. Archie Freeman
-
Really feel for James, he's not really a rider I've followed much and don't know a lot about him, however it's awful seeing him so disappointed and worried about his health and progress, I would love to see him back on a bike, enjoying himself again asap, but I fear it'll be a long while before that happens again. The life of a speedway rider, who'd want it? Hope he recovers fast, and that he can be supported by the Ben Fund.

Still nothing!! Season starts this month lol, this is very unlike Belle Vue

So... It's just me that thinks the Swindon team looks way stronger?
