Track is definitely well watered. With Basso out, I think the tie is gone, but I also suspect the track won't give the Tigers much home advantage tonight. Might be a close one. Could be very interesting.

If you put enough down, yes. Maybe not on top. I guess the principle is that you need to get ahead - if you wait until the sun's out, it must become a lot more difficult. But I don't know anything about track curation.

They were watering until 1am and started again at 7am. One of the downsides of a well-draining track, I guess.

He was always going to be the weakest rider as the season went on, especially as Ace is looking better by the week. I’d say his value is in being able to help Ace and to bank points at home. He’s generally done what I think he needs to. We are reliant on the top 5 away, and they should all be up to the job of delivering on that.

I’m a neutral, I don’t really care! Wouldn’t mind Kilmarnock finishing second bottom, then I might be able to go to both legs of the final final. I’d support the Jags if I was going to that… Although speedway at Ashfield wins over all other sporting events!

I missed this as I was in Ayr watching their team get pumped by Partick Thistle, but definitely Redcar are in the driving seat for Tuesday. Glasgow are well capable of turning it around at home though.

Yeah, that was quality. The 250s provided a few good races. There were a few unrefined but decent riders there, which is exactly what you want to see.

Well of you want to be picky, it was 34 heats. I think it was more like 150 people, but definitely well up on last year. The 500cc was a bit of a joke, although Ashton was fast! Incidentally, what is the technical difference between the two 125cc classes? The heat times were about 6 seconds apart.

We had dates available. If we didn't want to race, why did we manage to arrange races with Poole in the playoffs? Surely that would be the competition we'd want to win more, and be awkward about dates... Yet we managed to provide a banged up 7 regardless. If we could provide 7 for that, I don't see why we'd make it a problem for the cup. So it doesn't make sense to me that we were the awkward ones. We are the most flexible team on dates. We own our track and I don't know of any local restrictions. Regardless, the real fault is with the speedway authorities for not organising things properly at a central level. It shouldn't be up to any club to dictate things. Set the date, tell the teams to turn up, or forfeit. Easy!

That was the PR reason. The real reason was, they knew it wasn't going to happen regardless. They were trying not to publicly throw everyone else under the bus - not that it did them any good!

That team that pulled out because it was clear the final wasn't going to happen and it risked looking really silly, is really looking likes the fools, huh? They should just accept the competition wasn't finished. Leicester don't even race in the Championship any more. Or, just give the trophy to Poole... They'd probably have won it anyway. There was never any hope of completing this last season. It's pointless now, and quite ridiculous.

Great racing, great racetrack, solid away win. Vissing very lucky in heat 3.

It was absolutely fantastic, despite the dust. I think I barely counted 30 punters all afternoon though, which was a shame.
