  1. Whilst it was good we pulled it back level in heat 11, it was obvious 12/13/14 were bad for us. 12/14 certainly, and 13 was a 50/50. Anders Rowe and Tobias Thomsen were both really good last night. We need our reserves to find a little more speed. If we can help them improve, we're still a very good team.
  2. Let's be honest, it's probably a bit of both, and nothing inherently wrong with either given the current setup of British Speedway. If we don't like it, we need an independent body to control fixtures more centrally, but if that's not going to happen, teams will do it. If the roles were reversed, I'd expect Edinburgh to seek to do the same. Why wouldn't you?
  3. It's not just mixing it, it's anywhere near, like you say. When he's at the back, he seems to leave half a lap between him and the rider in front. I just don't get it. You only get 16 laps a meeting, and spending half of them putting no real effort in is such a waste. No idea what the answer is, but cantering around at half speed on the bike certainly isn't helping him. He seems to be going through mechanics quickly, and he's posted about engines - I'm not sure he's fully accepted the issue is mostly in his head yet.
  4. Funny you say that, when we've won the league only once, failed to make the playoffs last year, and even if you bank on us getting one playoff spot, there's three more up for grabs... We've managed to lose playoffs to Leicester and Poole, and frequently struggle to beat Redcar and Edinburgh in the cup competitions. Seems like we're not really blowing everyone out of the water. It also wasn't us forcing Workington to move up to the Championship, and arguably the league is the most level it's been for a while this year!
  5. It seems Ashton is done at Glasgow.
  6. You could expect 8 home matches in 11 weeks, which is better than we have now (3 Fridays out of 9).
  7. Still confused what Poole saw in Starke for this year. He must've talked a very good game, because it's a long time since he showed one.
  8. Patricia didn’t disgrace herself at all. Otto Raak, on the other hand, was all over the place.
  9. I think it's more the.Glasgow track staff work week in, week out, and they know what works and what doesn't, as well as what the local forecast usually translates to. Unfortunately the FIM don't, and they don't appear to love listening to the locals at events.
  10. That was decided on FIM rank. Not sure why they didn't do that tonight - would've gone to Nagel on that basis, I think.
  11. Glasgow had no control over this meeting. If they had, I'm fairly sure it would've been off in the morning.
  12. I suspect he's not going to pull out before he really has to, "just in case" he wakes up tomorrow and reckons he can give it a crack.
  13. I thought it was a good meeting. There was some good passing from those willing to stick it around the outside. Bit of a weird pile up after the final, which almost became comical. Glad no one picked up an injury from that. In terms of the standard, it will get better in line with opportunities for these riders. Compare the number of meetings today with what it used to be, and that's a good chunk of the reason it is what it is. But there was some good racing.
  14. He let a lot worse go repeatedly during the meeting, particularly early on.
  15. Sedgy and Drew Kemp would be the obvious guests when the new averages come in.
  16. I was hoping Edinburgh would make a run for the playoffs this season, and I did like the look of the guys they'd brought in. It's a shame it's not working out at the moment.
  17. I still don't understand, did Poole seriously expect more from Marson? I guess from their actions, they did, which seems an unusual error on their part... Everyone else knew!
  18. He was never going to score 2 points a meeting. Even he knew that, surely.
  19. The Tigers have won three from three away from home so far this season.
  20. Exactly. We can run any day of the week, as long as we can get the riders. And we are quite good at trying to arrange fixtures on off days where required.
  21. A match race would be fair enough, yes.
