  1. Yeah, I would keep him if he wants to come back. He’s not a ten pointer any more, but he’s better than the average he’s on.
  2. I think it’s more than that. It was also an off night, and rearranged again at short notice after the original rerun for Saturday.
  3. The only thing I can think of is that Starke didn’t qualify under the heat 15 rules and that was the only way to get him in the heat? Because you can put a reserve in heat 15 if the originally nominated rider is excluded I think - I’m sure that happened once last year?
  4. Fair play to Poole. Much the better team over the two legs. Hope they win the final. The match itself was a bit rubbish. Not a lot of racing - probably more in heat 15 than the rest of the meeting. Personally, I think it’s just too late in the year and getting too cold. I live in hope things will be settled earlier next season.
  5. Yep, that’s what happens when you want to ride the fence and you get it wrong. I think some of the southerners don’t realise how different the ground is in Glasgow in early October compared to August. It changes sharply up here.
  6. The main issue has been that Craig’s struggled at times and knocked quite a bit off his average, and Ulle hasn’t been the same returning. The former wasn’t expected but the latter was. That said, Ulle deserved to come back because he was phenomenal in 2021 before his injury. Basso and Hume coming in for Sam Jensen and Ricky Wells has been a net positive. Broc has underperformed, but his average is still higher than at the start of the season, I think. Connor’s been very solid and as quick as anyone at home, but I think he needs regular riding somewhere else to progress.
  7. Starke also crashed into 1. The track is fine, but it’s riding different to how it normally would. That’s all. It’s not full of ruts or concrete.
  8. I wouldn’t call it dodgy, but the track is always less forgiving when it gets colder. Last year it was always Sam Jensen.
  9. I like the combo of Chris Louis and Kelvin. On another note, I really dislike it when riders purposely stay on the track when they crash and could clear. I know they all do it, but it’s bad sportsmanship.
  10. breaks the starting tapes whilst the green starting light is on or prevents the raising of the start gate He broke the tapes after the gate went up and the green light was off. The rule was like this when I was watching speedway at Rye House in the 90s. I have never seen the rule applied any other way.
  11. But that’s not the application of the rule in British speedway. It hasn’t ever been that I can remember.
  12. Can’t say I’m surprised at the low crowd. It’s a dead rubber and we weren’t expecting this to be the last home meeting. Also, I think Heat 1 should’ve been brought back as B. Cook jumped.
  13. Of course he is. It’s not like I watched it or anything!
  14. Base on appearances in semi finals, I would give wildcards to: Dudek (6) Woffy (6) Vaculik (4, but missed a round through injury and wasn’t really fit for the first one he came back - plus two wins) Michelson (6) Thomson (3 in six rounds, before his injury at the GP Challenge) Theres no one obviously better than Doyle for the last slot. Fricke won a round but made no other semi finals. Doyle made 5. Žagar maybe?
  15. Wet and nippy Drumchapel too. Had the bizarre situation earlier this afternoon where one side of the road was bone dry and the other was fully wet!
  16. Giving Madsen the inside gate is an interesting decision.
  17. Doyle’s pit cam Tough call. He was slightly ahead and his bike was in line more than Dudek’s. I feel like you shouldn’t have to exclude someone in that situation. Neither did much, if anything, wrong.
