  1. It's the rider who gets to turn one first. Not a term I'd ever seen used in speedway before Discovery used it this year, but it's common in motorbike racing on tracks.
  2. Kids' race after heat 12 is cancelled. Looks like they're moving Holder into a different ambulance so I guess it'll be a short delay yet whilst they do that, before we get going again. Should I check the gantry to make sure Dave Rowe is still awake?
  3. No worries. We even have three ambulances now!
  4. Another ambulance has just arrived, just on cue.
  5. Milk... Lambeth... Autocorrect not my friend today.
  6. Milk has concussion - gone to hospital. Holder going to hospital just now. Action paused until first ambulance is back - ETA about 15 minutes.
  7. One thing they could do better in Glasgow is filler for the crowd during breaks like this. They have a DJ but the doesn't play any music. They have a centre green presenter but he's got no chat. It doesn't need a lot, but something to fill the void would definitely help when there's a pause.
  8. Lambeth 7 off 3. Decent enough, but his last two rides are from gate 2, which has been a graveyard so far.
  9. Kim Nilsson very impressive in his first two rides.
  10. Fourth bend here. Either KO'd or playing dead lions. Just caught the bottom of the air fence in the head/neck area. Not convinced he should be passed to go out again tbh.
  11. Some rain today, but not loads. Some tomorrow morning, but again not loads. Should be fairly clear from the afternoon. Plenty of banking will help with drainage. Sun’s currently out. I don’t really see any major issues.
  12. That was the original plan, so I guess so. 18 heats so they get 4 rides each? I'd love to see a heat 19 with the top 2 riders from the home team against the top rider from both away teams too. Just for something different and to provide a finale to the evenings.
  13. Yeah, it was terrible at the end, although it seemed to work well for Tom in heat 18.
  14. Sedgmen deserved at least one heat win. He was very good. In fact, all the Brummies were good outside of reserve. Cool and Wells were both decent value, but Sedgmen was unlucky to get done on the last turn twice by Basso. He didn’t really do much wrong. Basso was just out of this world. In heat 15 I think he just decided it was win it or bin it over the fence.
  15. Heat 9 was fantastic. Heat 12 was interesting because when Basso swapped to the inside, everyone followed him. Heat 15, he just refused to be beaten. That gap was tiny. I was on the entrance to turn three as usual and honestly, I can't find the words to describe up how good that was.
  16. I'd be delighted if he was our #1 at the start of next year. The guy's fearless and he's got that little bit of magic you just can't teach.
  17. Glasgow leading comfortably despite a number of bike problems... And the wonder wheel tractor has broken down. Good action on track though.
  18. I'd be inclined to drop Broc. But it'll be one of Broc or Connor.
  19. In fairness, one was in heat 21 and then heat 22. Would’ve been a bold move to pull him out of heat 22 and put Flint in having not had a ride to that point. If they’d done that and Leon had finished last we’d be crucifying the team management for being so silly. You really have to commit to either giving an early ride or not at all, I think.
  20. To be fair, he said that after the heat 1 crash, when 2 Edinburgh riders had withdrawn. His complaint wasn’t that we’d lost, because they hadn’t even completed a race yet.
  21. Surely once it gets to the playoffs, all teams will only agree to dates their riders are available?
