Theres nine Tuesday nights between now and the end of October!
-
Plymouth have until the end of October to stage this meeting so there's plenty of time, though the teams may be a bit unusual by then, plenty of guests.

Tuesday 23rd August - Plymouth v Glasgow

Aren't we already running RR for Ben Basso? -
Quite amusing in an Oliver Reed style but wouldn't want him too often
-
Leicester have the KO Cup quarter final second leg on Sept 2, defending a 58-32 lead so would fancy them to be in the semis the following Saturday, racing Poole. With the exception of Clegg their riders all ride in either the Prem or the NL so will still see some action, in contrast to Craig, Connor and Broc, so if we're second we're in a worse predicament, as we'll have nothing until to Play Off semis. Take it the Jubilee Triple isn't going to happen any time soon.
-
In August perhaps but not in October when it should have been held.
-
If Poole can do Sunday afternoons, then the CLRC should have been run on one rather than a Wednesday night. 6 men teams with a reserve getting two rides in separate reserve races which don't count to the meeting total. This was the format used circa 1990 in the National Series.

Championship League Riders' Championship at Poole
Beirao replied to cinderfella's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
As Worrall was at number one for the Pirates on Wednesday, he surely is the Pirates highest in the current GSAs. -
The BSPL link to the Tigers website has the ".org" suffix and this is the root of the problem. You get through ok using ".co.uk". This has been pointed out to the promotion a few times.
-
While it has saved the BSPL from a big loss from a one off at a neutral venue, the three extra heats and travel costs for seven extra visitors, when compared with a standard league meeting, mean it's not going to be a pot of gold for the three teams staging a home round.
-
The next time this happens will be the first.

Championship Pairs, Oxford.. Friday, 12th. August

Ben Basso is currently number two in the Glasgow averages with Ulle Ostergaard just ahead of Tom Brennan in third place. -
Surely it's the normal seven man team but the number seven, while having no programmed rides, can replace any rider in the 1-6 during the meeting, with the usual guest and RR rules applying. Wasnt this what happened in the National Series, a three team event in 1990? One of Poole, Glasgow and Leicester will be in the play off quarter finals and both Poole and Leicester have KO Cup semifinals so there may be arent that many "spare" weeks to stage the three meetings at the respective tracks.

Glasgow v Edinburgh Jubilee Trophy 31st July @3pm
Beirao replied to Gazc's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
As the meeting will involve 18 heats and travel costs for 14 visitors as well as the normal 7 home riders it's likely to run at a loss. Can't see any club wanting to hold this. As has been pointed out already the final at Sheffield will be a financial black hole. -

Not sure that drop is the correct term. Don't the reserves have to be there and cant they be used to replace riders in the team. Are guests allowed as it woukd be a surprise if at least one isnt required and can RR be used too? -

Connor isn't going to see much action in August. Three meetings at home to Brum, away at Redcar and Plymouth and that's it. If Tigers are second then their play off semi is unlikely to be before mid September so it could be just three meetings in six weeks. -

Why? Right now Broc is in better form than Connor and Broc was a Sheffield rider before he joined Glasgow. -

What meetings would he miss? There are only three meetings in August . -

Will their line up be any stronger when they are at Ashfield next Friday? -
Pity that our next meeting is a week on Sunday.
-
Did it mention our next meeting?
-
While it's all supposition A win at West Ham in July instead of a 43-35 defeat; a win at home to Swindon instead of a 38-40 loss; a win at Poole instead of a 36-42 score and a win at home over Wimbledon, another 38-40 look to be enough for the Cheetahs to win the BL. .... and a further point at Newcastle 39-39 . All supposition but not unlikely if How had been riding.

Leicester vs Edinburgh 16/07/22 CL
Beirao replied to IainB's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Three league points from our aways at Plymouth and Redcar and Leicester and ourselves will finish 1 and 2 and are unlikely to meet until the final. Can't see Leicester picking us in the semis.
