  1. No probably not as they will need it when there is no speedway in uk
  2. Ok why bother with teams at all, just fill the calendar with pointless fixtures
  3. Another pointless fixture to the detriment of British speedway imo
  4. Agreed,Oxford certainly drawing in the crowds I don’t think the name matters as Swindon did ok as the robins for many a year( contrary to what Mr Russell and co say)hardly a powerful name.
  5. Agreed, good to see them attack the track and considering time taken to grade and water people were tasting plenty of that dust. I do wish that the centre green presenter would drop the peter York ism of announcing Jenkins and Atkins as JJ and HA on every occasion and chance he can gets a bit grating after a while.
  6. I agree, my thoughts exactly, I do hope some of them try and get to a meeting because after all it’s they who are missing out.
  7. Very healthy crowd for the previous 2 meetings and plenty of OAPs amongst it so they were not put off by the new fangled internet and no cash.Sometimes I think people like to make out that the old are incapable of any new tech forgetting that most have been using it for years my opinion
  8. Some interesting views in the comments ref Russell and Rossiter. https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/23471597.drone-image-shows-progress-swindons-new-greyhound-stadium/
  9. Bert Harkins was in the resturant and Mike broadbank was on the centre green, I think roscoe tried to get him to ride!
  10. Yeh I should have said of available riders. They also spoke to roscoe about the Swindon situation who came across a bit sheepish and could only say” let’s see what happens”, not the roscoe of old who always had plenty to say !
  11. When they spoke to peter shroek tonight he indicated that they (Oxford) put the Swindon team together and included the best so they could have a fair challenge. so I think you may be right
  12. Agree with you totally , I just hope that one day they get what’s owed to them
  13. Orion is probably right about Russell making some money, but the bigger picture hear is the chance to see speedway with some of your old favs thrown in for good measure to good to miss especially with the news from Wolverhampton
  14. Would have to agree with you fully. I did that some years ago before travelling to Eastbourne weather awful all the way but sunny in Eastbourne.
  15. Agreed , very good considering the pre season concerns of some
  16. Latest from local news:https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/23431306.swindon-abbey-stadium-work-resumes-months-delay/
  17. Money of course ,as for the other two they have been extremely quiet on the subject (very unlike roscoe) maybe they did receive an inducement as well who knows
  18. Better than replying to people like you and flip flop you deserve each other
  19. No body ever said Steve had no right to post but yer man above kept on so I just jogged his memory ok and I don’t care if you don’t like it
  20. No you accused me of false claims and I provide you with facts that’s all but of course you close ranks with your fan club who can say what they like whether true or false So I am allowed to defend those claims just as you would have
  21. Clearly someone like you believes at face value what you read where as I said I prefer the facts. You got one who said on another topic: ”I have to say that moving away from Oxford some 17 plus years ago I haven't been to a speedway since” commenting on this very topic but could not recall it. Another flip flop who was prepared to castigate me for buying tickets in advance and dare to suggest that £1.00 increase is not a £1.00 but had obviously forgotten his previous posts on another topic: “ If the new £20 ticket price does include the booking fee, it's only a £1 increase over last season (£18+£1) - that's not too bad considering the current circumstances.”and” I normally buy mine as soon as they go on sale”so in advance then! I would question if you are not also one of those above who actually attends speedway now certainly not at Oxford if anywhere because to be moaning about a quid is pathetic especially when there was no speedway at Cowley for 14 years and without a huge effort from various people, some who post on here there still wouldn't
  22. Since you brought it up are you sure Steve ? ”I have to say that moving away from Oxford some 17 plus years ago I haven't been to a speedway since as the nearest, I guess, would be Sheffield (?). I would expect more than just 15 heats (?) for my money and when i would have to take into account petrol costs (especially nowadays) it just doesn't add up for me.“ posted in 2022. Maths ain’t my strong point( or yours apparently) but 2022-17years =2005
