  1. We’ll win the league, then Poole, Redcar and Workington will finish in the remaining play-off spots. Harris will win the CLRC and Harris and Dan Thompson will win the Pairs. I imagine Plymouth will finish last.
  2. I suggest you look up the definition of ‘sarcasm’ because that certainly wasn’t an example of it. Where have you got the impression that Glasgow are pinning their hopes on two reserves? The hope is being pinned on the strongest top five, in actual fact.
  3. What on earth are you talking about? I provided two examples which demonstrated Hodder’s potential. That is what Glasgow have invested in; potential. How you’ve came to the conclusion that this means he’s in any way ”mugging off” Berwick is beyond me.
  4. Freddie Hodder won the Stars of Tomorrow competition in September, ahead of competition from the likes of Connor Coles, Jake Mulford, Jody Scott and Acr Pijper. The same Freddie Hodder scored 6+2 while guesting for us at home to Oxford at the tail end of last season. Our top five will throw every single other team in the league around like a wet towel, but make no mistake: the acquisition of Freddie Hodder is a strategic, planned piece of business. The exaggerated focus on our reserves is an attempt to persuade themselves, not us, that everything will be okay.
  5. Rowe’s a decent signing for Poole. If you look at his numbers, he did very well for us last season. He definitely found it easier riding at three than five, but his input in the latter parts of the meeting were an improvement on Worrall, I felt. Depending on what Ford and Middleditch spend the remaining points on, you’re guaranteed a play-off spot with this side. Which Lewis Kerr turns up will be a huge factor, in my opinion.
  6. When a fan of the league champions feels the need to dissect your line-up, one by one and in detail, in his own team’s topic, then you know you’ve got them on toast.
  7. I’d be surprised if he wasn’t. Where has that observation come from? Flint essentially operated as our second heat leader for the majority of last season. This coming season, he’ll start as our fourth rider and even at that, he could easily become our fifth rider… and still have had a good season. I honestly fear for other sides next season. Glasgow have put together one hell of a side.
  8. You’re entitled to your opinion, but we’re going win the league and if you can keep up, we’ll do it again at Wimborne Road.
  9. Over 24 hours since the last post in here. Is everyone okay? Sorry if our world class line-up announcement in the form of a Hollywood picture has ruined your weekend.
  10. Delighted with that team. Statistically the two most improved riders in the Championship last season in Boughen and Thompson. I don’t rate Flint, but he has a second chance here and with one season under his belt, will hopefully kick-on. Hodder’s 6+2 from four while guesting in the last home fixture of the season speaks volumes for his potential. Nothing needs to be said about Harris. We’re favourites for this league title. It’s coming home.
  11. I’ve just phoned Ashfield and Josh Pickering answered. Make of that what you will.
  12. If that is the reserve pairing, then I’ll be happy because I think Hodder has a lot of potential. His 6+2 from four rides at reserve while guesting in the final home meeting of last season emphasises that. As such, the second reserve - whether that’s Max Perry or Michael Max - can be carried and afforded time to develop.
  13. Behind every single successful speedway team that ever existed has been a presence on the British Speedway Forum. This topic sits at 14 pages. Fourteen. One. Four. Glasgow? We’re at 25. Even Berwick are in the twenties. You’re one page ahead of Plymouth and their entire fan base consists of two men and a dog.
  14. This miserable post receiving one, never mind three likes, is wild.😂 It’s a natural emotion. People feel excitement at the prospect of something they enjoy or find rewarding. Wait only adds to the excitement. Don’t get me wrong, I’m exaggerating with the daily “Announce Boughen” posts, but the day I feel no excitement at the prospect of Glasgow’s line-up being announced is the day I stop going to the speedway. It’s a tremendous aspect of the sport, team building. In any sport, for that matter. Regardless of whether we know who the seven will be too. For example, I know my wife’s making turkey dinosaurs and alphabetti spaghetti for dinner tonight and have done all week, but I’m still excited.
  15. Posting the BSN pass announcement on your Instagram story, Glasgow Tigers, you tease. SHOW ME THE MONEY GERRY.
  16. Arthur, I’ll never let the truth get in the way of a good story. Leave me be. Also, ANNOUNCE BOUGHEN.
  17. You definitely wrote that aggressively, the tears still running down your face at the memory of us winning last season’s league title at Wimborne Road.
  18. Big business needed for the final three riders. This is a credit to Poole‘s team building ability over the years, but it isn’t a stand-out team so far. Kerr is a strange one. I really like him and rate him, but he’s gone from Oxford’s third heat leader to Berwick’s number one and now Poole’s second heat leader over the past three seasons; it plays into the statement that you never know what Lewis Kerr you’re getting. I saw him smoke Chris Harris two or three times at Shielfield Park last season, but I also saw Lee Complin absolutely bully and out-ride him at Ashfield in the Play-Off semi-final in 2023. It’s Poole though, so it’s almost a nailed-on guarantee that he’ll have a good season.
  19. Buzzing for this. I was underwhelmed by last season’s starting line-up, even more so following Complin’s ban, so hopefully this year will see a strong side kick-off the campaign. Harris is essential and seems inevitable, but Boughen will be a huge addition. His potential is huge.
  20. Gutted for Nicholls. There are so few clubs left that the probability of a heat leader spot becoming available mid-season is low. I’m hopeful he has a few years left in him.
  21. In April of 2016, I watched a 16 year-old Dan Bewley ride for Edinburgh at Ashfield. He scored zero from four rides and in three of those races, he wasn’t far off being lapped. In the other, he fell. In April of 2024, I watched a 16 year-old Ashton Boughen ride for Oxford at Ashfield. He scored six points, including a heat win. In September of 2024, five months later, I watched the same Ashton Boughen score 13+1 at Ashfield, involving four heat wins and a victory over Chris Harris. Let’s not allow reality to get in the way of a good criticism, eh?
  22. The 4TT used to be great and emphasised the variety we were exposed to “back in the day”. Am I remembering correctly; teams would begin the completion in sections (Glasgow were in with Edinburgh, Berwick and Newcastle, typically) and after all teams had a home meeting, the side with the most points would be seeded to the 4TT final at Peterborough? I seem to recall a different scenario, where eight sides across semi-finals would fight for a place in the grand final on the same date, also at Peterborough. I’d welcome its return. I think it would be a great addition to the British speedway calendar.
