  1. Ashfield, tomorrow night. 7:30PM (UK time)/10PM (Tehran time). The forecast does not look good. Prediction, should this go ahead: Glasgow 49, Berwick 41, me to cringe at least four times when the presenter says ”Lively Leon Flint” and the announcer to give the wrong time twice, incorrectly confirm the score four times and say the wrong rider won the last race six times. All of which will be supplemented by music more suited to an 80s gay disco than a sporting event.
  2. I had similar concerns over Steve Worrall in 2024. 3, 3, 2, 1, 0 was a typical scoreline sequence for him. This is why I think we brought Howarth back. I feel like he’s got the mentality and aggression for heats 13 and 15.
  3. That isn’t a bad result for Poole, all things considered. It could have been a lot worse, but they’re capable of winning at home by a greater margin. The irony - arguably karma - in Poole fans criticising the track is astonishing. You produce the absolute worst racing this country has ever seen at Wimborne Road, but you’ve been winning, so can’t see the forest for the trees. I've been victim to a robbery once in my life: when I paid for the Poole versus Glasgow stream last season. It takes an incredibly negative approach to make Chris Harris look boring. A truly remarkable lack of self-awareness.
  4. Welcome to the world of every other club whose had the displeasure of visiting Wimborne Road in recent seasons.
  5. I’d sit this one out Lisa. A Poole fan criticising someone else’s track is like a homeless person criticising your curtains.
  6. it’s exactly what happened. Updating the situation? Let me directly quote Oxford’s statement: ”after several days of meetings – the situation has now reached a point where it is full steam ahead again for Cheetahs” If you, as an Oxford or even a speedway fan in general, are appeased by that, then my suggestion is to be quiet and enjoy what’s left of the sport in this country while the rest of us hold clubs and their stakeholders accountable to even a degree of standards.
  7. Oxford speedway on 07/04: “Two entities - neither of which are us - terminated their agreement, so we’re unable to fulfil our first competitive meeting, throwing our season and entire existence into doubt before the season proper has even began. We’ll keep you posted”. Radio silence. Oxford speedway on 10/04: “Get your tickets for the next home meeting!” This isn’t just poor communication; it’s blatant disregard for the supporters of Oxford speedway. I feel sorry for Cheetahs fans who deserve better.
  8. 😂 Might take a mental note of your name, so as to remember not to take a single thing you ever say seriously. An outrageously woeful perspective. Truly awful.
  9. Really enjoyed that. I think a draw was a fair result. We looked dead and buried at one point, but two Harris inspired advantages in heats 12 and 13 pulled us back into it. Tonight was a free pass for Hausl and Juhl Pedersen, given it was their first encounter with Armadale (a tricky track to navigate), so it was great to see them both contribute important points in heats 11 and 14. Flint being disqualified for the wind blowing the tapes against him was definitely revenge for us “accidentally” stopping that heat with Kye Thomson half a lap ahead of Harris at Ashfield.
  10. I’m still trying to work out how someone I assume is a grown adult is so invested in someone they’ve never met to the extent they’ve created a topic about them. Then, to make matters worse, is providing “he’s back” updates, as if we’ve been waiting or for that matter, care. Keep the humour coming mate. This place needs it.
  11. It’s absolutely awful. It really is. I’ve just saw someone telling you to keep up and calling you a bellend because you raised several valid, accurate and worthy of discussion concerns. Remarkably toxic.
  12. Maybe, but it’s a fine margin. Howarth’s no shows in heat fifteen and the race-off in the play-off final somewhat deflect the fact that at times, he was remarkable last season. His 5-1s with Harris against Edinburgh in the semi-final, taking Masters from behind (the Bishop said to the maid) at Ashfield, absolutely bullying Zach Cook at Ashfield in a critical race of the final, etc. Thompson’s 2025 was a strange one. I don’t think he was the same rider after his hand/wrist injury suffered in the U21 final. He had a great season, some tremendous meetings and played a huge part in our season, but his last effort in a Tigers’ race suit was to be surrender three points in being passed by Lewis Kerr. You could reverse engineer a whole meeting on where it was won and lost, but Thompson being done by Kerr wasn’t in the forecast. I’m in no doubt however that Thompson will have a fantastic season at Armadale.
  13. Definitely not. I think it’ll be close; my heart says us, but my head says them. Wouldn’t be surprised if we see a Dan Thompson masterclass. I think both sides look strong, so hopefully we’ll see some good racing.
  14. Not that I like to recall the event, but when Poole won at Ashfield last season, more often than not, their riders about turned on the back straight without acknowledging their fans and headed back to the pits. Cannot stand that. With all due respect, who do they think they are? Almost 500 miles and they didn’t even acknowledge them.
  15. Blobby, I refuse to let the truth get in the way of a good story.
  16. Friday night. Armadale. 7:30PM (UK time)/Midnight (Mumbai time). Rain, get to f*ck. Prediction: Edinburgh 28, Glasgow 62. IMO.
  17. Bitterly disappointed to hear about Oxford’s situation. The Cheetahs return to racing represented a glimmer hope in an otherwise abysmal future for clubs of the past, such as Coventry, Swindon and Peterborough. It’s awful how exposed British speedway is. If it isn’t losing riders to challenge matches to Poland, it’s losing the ability to host meetings due to a reliance on other parties. We desperately, desperately need some sort of rejuvenation, very much like darts went through.
  18. Close. A paid maximum for young Rushen is remarkable. I remember seeing Dan Bewley riding for Edinburgh at that age and he looked more suited to second-half racing.
  19. I think Poole will hit the 60+ mark with Pickering scoring 50% of Scunthorpe’s points.
  20. Yeah, this is painful. There’s natural bias, but this is childish. My new season enthusiasm got the better of me and I purchased this. The only excitement has been the incidents. The rain off at Armadale is more exciting than this. New season, same rubbish.
  21. Just read in this week’s Speedway Star that between 2001 and 2010, either Adrian Rymel or Michal Makovsky topped Berwick’s averages in nine of those ten seasons. Remarkable. A return well worth the risk the Bandits took when they brought those two over the UK along with Josef Franc. On a separate note, I thought Reid Battye looked right on the pace at Ashfield in the BEN Fund, despite his points tally. Shielfield might be tough to navigate at first, but I think you could have a young man with a lot of potential on your hands. All the best at Armadale tonight Bandits.
