Oxford v Glasgow - Play Offs - 13 Sept
TheWellBehavedWorrall replied to Grachan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You cannot be serious here. Brennan is obviously not the captain, but Glasgow’s official website states in the ‘Club Officials’ section that he is and the BSPL’s official Instagram account stated he is on last night’s promotional content, but you’re directing us towards the second-last paragraph and 793rd word of a 1,000 word article, as if the oversight is on us. -

What an excellent input you’ve had here. Honestly, well done. I hope you’re proud. I love a verbal ding-dong and debate as much as the next person, but if you’re going to be randomly obnoxious to someone, at least do so with substance. Thank you. I’m going to comment ”do keep up” under the BSPL’s Instagram post in snide-style, like @tyretrax. Actually, no I’m not, because I’m not a child. I’m not sure if this is aimed at me or not, but regardless, I take my hat off to you because that is a tremendous metaphor. Have a like. -

In that case, there can be no complaints beyond frustration at Wright picking-up an injury or injuries. I’ll tell you what, by the way, I’ve used forums for work, travel and football, but never before have I come across a more arsey crowd than on here. The passive-aggressive tone to the two messages I’ve quoted is world class; almost outraged that I’d asked the question. I quite like it. -

I can see both parties point of view. It’s a difficult dilemma. Was Wright contractually obliged to ride in Poland that day? -

”Do keep up”. What an obnoxious way to start an interaction. What should I keep up with? Glasgow’s own website states that Brennan is the captain, so if that isn’t accurate, then I’m afraid your loathsome attitude is directed at the wrong person. -

Do I need to start shadow boxing to assert my dominance here, or are we all going to play nicely? -

I think if Michael Max wanted to be Glasgow Tigers’ manager, he’d occupy the role now. He’s one of the club’s promoters, so I’m assuming Cami Brown will directly or indirectly report to Max and/or the other promoters on behalf of the Facennas. -

Is this accurate? If so, wow. I saw Nicki Pedersen posting an article on social media a couple of weeks ago which mentioned a sign-on fee in Poland which equated to GBP £150,000. Wild. As I said earlier, it’s incredible how arguably the only economic environment which Poland eclipses the UK is in speedway. That’s not luck; they’re doing something right. -

I’d never have got that, but is that actually a 70 year-old riding a speedway bike? Impressive. I’m half that age and require physiotherapy after I pick something up. Who? -

Thanks for this Lisa. I thought I’d miss the meeting as I was driving, but enjoyed listening to this. Decent coverage from a guy called Leon Foster, I think, and another gentleman whose name I missed. Glasgow have to be bitterly disappointed by the manner in which the meeting unfolded after the mid-meeting break. They collapsed. I wonder how accountable Tom Brennan and to a lesser extent, Lee Complin will be held by Cami Brown. Three points each - 6 out of a possible 33 - across eleven rides is unacceptable. On such an important occasion, your captain can’t be out-scored by every opponent, including their reserves. The impact of replacing Nowak with Tarasenko is nullified by that sort of performance. Oxford sounded efficient and based on their individual scores, looked impressive. Consistent throughout. That’s a very, very good win for them. -

Correct. This is more of a ding-dong than Louis v Loram at the ‘97 British Final. -

I think that’s a Hungarian flag on his race bib, but the helmet, the bike and the kevlars look too modern for it to be my automatic guess of Robert Nagy. I’m wracking my brain for Hungarian riders and can’t think of any. Was Zoltan Adorjan Hungarian? Is it him? -

For those who haven’t seen it. Very best of wishes to him and what a wonderful creation air fences are. On a standard fence, that impact is career-threatening. He’ll be tender, but thanks to Poland’s finest morphine, he’ll be comfortable. https://x.com/parkmaszyn/status/1700942593960349719?s=46&t=X-fQh82nyLXPqBG4Ugqe7Q -
