  1. Bridger has no doubt wasted his talent, with the right application he could have been so much better.
  2. Yes the racing was very poor but at least the lads got the job done, overall it was more experiance that will stand the likes Of Stevie, Cookie, and Robert in good stead. I expect us to get well beaten in Poland but who else is realistically going to challenge the Poles? Again it will be a very good learning curve for these riders, yes Woffinden would strengthen the team but obviously his heart is not in riding for Team GB, i also thought last season when binning his silver medal it was a bit of a slur on the rest of the team who have never ridden at that level before, why undermine their achievment? Not really great for team morale at all, I stand by those whilst having lesser ability have greater patriotism, no big time Charlies. He himself disowned his place of birth as he obviously has not got that patriotic desire to ride for Team GB, and didn't exactly help promote speedway on these shores when opting out of league racing as a current world champion.
  3. But he dosent give a toss as he has no interest in riding for his country. I personally would prefer to go with the so called lesser riders that are proud to wear the union jack. All real Englishman, not a plastic version with the aussie flag tattooed on his back.
  4. If he recaptures the form that he did last season after a slow start.
  5. Funny that the person who stated the state of the track was just home advantage was one of the most outspoken when it came to our old track at Kirky Lane constantly giving it pelters, no one knew better than BV fans the state of the track at KL was poor, never thought of it as home track advantage though. We have a good side here but think Wolves still have the edge home form being the telling factor.
  6. Lynn will go well at the NSS we are more vulnerable at home think this could be difficult.
  7. Some massive home advantage, sneaked past Leicester, lost to Somerset, Struggled for most of the match against Rye, just edged it against Swindon, and Poole got a draw. We look more vulnrable at home than away, but thats the price you pay for having a track every rider loves to race on, we saw it with Hyde Road, and saw the other side at KL where every away rider dreaded as it was a pit.
  8. Dont have much luck in heat 15,s at poole this season. At least weve survived the track. Thought our doghole was bad but this place?
  9. I stayed at the Holes Bay B&B on Hamworthy Road good digs , not to be confused with the Premier Inn Holes Bay
  10. Fricke never seems to be that hot at Wimborne Road, Kenny i would expect to reproduce that form. With the contributions from reserve and my doubts about Tungate cant see us getting a win tomorrow.
  11. Well we were an EF away last time, agree with you this time though
  12. I was in Gothenberg in 1977 when Peter Collins finished second with a badly broken leg that contained 300 stitches after clipping a grid cover at Hyde Road very close to the world final, he could have actually won it only for a rerun in atrocious weather. Not only was he on crutches but had to be lifted on and off his bike, so not really amazing how Doyle was able to race really.
  13. This should be an easy home win but ive said that before
  14. What I don't understand is why Chapman as a businessman appears to be purposely running his business into the ground by not providing for the paying customer, it really does not make one iota of sense.
  15. Another good away win for the Aces, but sad that Kings Lynn has fallen so far in terms of entertainment, it was one of the very best tracks that produced excellent racing on a consistent basis. As for Chapman being hailed as some sort of saviour for the sport on taking over the chair at the BSPA, well, he cant even sort his own club out let alone the mess that is British speedway. I really hope the Stars get back on track.
  16. No Cook No Fricke = No Me Im sick to the back teeth of missing riders this season, Will a couple of good crowds at the end of the season for 4 clubs really offset the very poor attendances we are now seeing throughout the regular season?
  17. There were quite a few around me when I came down in April
  18. This match epitomises everything that is wrong with the sport today. Speedway really is in the last chance saloon, personally I hope this rain continues.
  19. Any team can come up here and do well despite their recent form as all riders love the place. Our form has been patchy of late being fortunate to edge past Leicester, losing to Somerset, and being pushed all the way by Swindon. The performances against those three I don't think would be enough Friday, if all this weather clears up that is.
  20. I thought the fen tigers would have given us a test tonight but they were totally taken to the cleaners. Dan Lee Jack and Kyle were superb Rob rode well and Andy chipped in well. Young Woodhull also looked assured. Not even a heat winner for the tigers.
  21. When I travel away nowadays and especially on bank holidays I travel overnight and make a day of it. When we are at Somerset im camping for two days, similar with Swindon spent the day in Poole etc. You do have to gamble with the weather but ive been lucky on that front. I remember when many clubs rode on a Saturday which meant away sides always had a good turn out, clubs like Swindon, Coventry, Cradley, Eastbourne, Kings Lynn spring to mind, the GP,s put paid to that. Midweek meetings are not easy unless you want to use all your holiday allowance taking a chance on the good old British summertime weather.
  22. Every time ive been to the OTA the racing has been excellent, looking forward to august.
  23. Racing was very strung out though, not a patch on what it used to be, with stocks taking priority thats only to be expected.
  24. Think a lot depends if Shuttleworth rides, isnt he down to ride for Workington?
  25. You could say we got out of jail tonight as i thought Leicester could have gone on to win this, they put in a very good performance and were well deserving of their point. When the pressure was on the Aces came to the party, there is a good team ethic going on with this side which seems to underline Mark Lemon sides, he has restored that winning mentality after years of defeatest attitude at KL. This is what Belle Vue used to be about, its said the mark of any good side is winning when below par which we certainly were early doors good result and again well done Leicester.
