  1. Easy for Robins as predicted well done to them and all the best for the play offs.
  2. Just happy to get a win on the night with no Bjerre, wasn't expecting that, no way will 8 be enough I wouldn't have been confident with double that given our woeful away form. What are Robins fans thoughts on the play offs? Do you think your top 5 will see you home or do you think the lack of points from reserve will be your downfall?
  3. Oh for a fraction of the money the Premier league is awash with, mind you that doesn't help the efl clubs as it doesn't filter down. The entertainment level is good at the NSS but that's still not enough to tempt newbies sadly.
  4. I understand your view and that's fair enough but if you apply that logic to say for example the Premier League where only two or three teams have any hope of winning silverware clubs like Palace or Southampton for example who are always in the lower reaches season after season would be playing to empty terraces. Fans obviously want to see their teams win but fans of clubs like the two examples attend because of a love of the sport and a lifetime commitment to the particular club. Maybe you've just fallen out of love with the sport in general.
  5. A couple of friends of mine follow Port Vale and I went along to the game with them at Macc last season, a nice ground and a great set of fans, even the Vale fans were rooting for you to stay up last season, I remember when you were in non league and won the northern premier in a canter beating us Ashton United 5-0 at our place, Macc played some great football, hope the rumours are just rumours.
  6. Possibly or they reform and apply to join non league and work their way back up the pyramid as other clubs have done., Either way there is a way back unlike the numerous ex speedway clubs.
  7. Listening to a programme on Talksport after the Loss of Bury FC and the on going problems with Bolton Wanderers it was stated the combined total of money owed by all EFL clubs, thats every club outside the Premier league comes to a total of around one billion, Macclesfield are widely regarded as the next club that could fold through financial problems, so its not just a Speedway problem, and the clubs mentioned get crowds that Speedway promoters would give their right arm for. In Bury,s case they went bust after a promotion season, obviously the money is in football it just doesn't filter down to the lower leagues, in the case of Speedway there is no money at all in the sport.
  8. Sad news another track lost, I was there a couple of weeks ago for the Colts meeting and the track was far better than it had been on previous visits. I used to go to Stoke on a regular basis if the Aces wer,nt riding on a Saturday, there was some great racing with the likes of Crabtree, Owen, Monaghan, etc, feel for the Stoke fans.
  9. We know Lemon is a clown, so can identify with Rossiter easily, and lets not mention that haircut
  10. Now we see why rosco stood down from GB before he was pushed terrible call in 15
  11. Pity team riding is a thing of the past, used to be a great skill
  12. Thought Hans would have the experience to have team rode there
  13. Dosent look as if Hans is anywhere near fit, could have a damaging effect for the Panthers, would like to see him go well in his next rides.
  14. I've seen many a good meeting at Monmore Steve I don't go with this big tracks are better than smaller tracks thing, each track has its own characteristics which means riders have to adapt different skills, that's why it was always said foreign riders need to ride in the UK in order to develop. As Ivan Mauger once said every track is there to be ridden. Wolves are a very well run club and I think can go all the way in the play offs, that was my original point nothing to do with tracks at all, that wasn't brought up by me. Good luck in the play offs, I wouldn't mind seeing you go all the way.
  15. When i made my original comment about teams preferring to come to the NSS rather than Wolves that was based on my belief Wolves are more formidable round their own patch than we are, no mention about the tracks at all, I think Biowulf became defensive hence his comments. No track ever has produced exceptional racing every meeting that's just impossible, but given the option I would take aHyde Road or NSS over Kirky Lane any day, Aces 51 sums it up perfectly
  16. Yes we know about the money so the racing on those big fast polish tracks must be so poor as the riders just have to take their brains out and turn the throttle im surprised the numbers on the terraces actually bother. I remember going from Hyde road to Kirky lane, now we are at the NSS the crappy racing was at Kirky lane, when we were at the dog track we tried to convince ourselves the racing was better due to the tighter track and riders having to have more technical ability, we were kidding ourselves, the best racing by far was at Hyde road and now the NSS, absolutely no comparison, after all the clue is in the name, speedway.
  17. I cant see us getting near Swindon over two legs, our woeful away form will ensure a Swindon win
  18. So that's the reason all the best riders in the world shun the UK and choose to ride the big fast tracks in Poland, always wondered, not many trick tracks in the GP, s either
  19. Agreed but I think visiting riders would have less concerns about coming to the NSS as they would going to Wolves.
