  1. Interesting Al is this something Harry has come up with or Chris Harris ?
  2. If that was the case the sport would be in a far better place than it currently is lol.
  3. Kelvin he's looking for a role now no tv deal
  4. custard creams are back in stock at bspa hq possibly
  5. Ford is spot on planning needs to start now , I know he's marmite but I personally think if he was made the big chief the sport would be in a way better place than it is now. Harry and co need to come up with something when did they come on board Nov 2025 ? from memory and all we have had so far is Linda L in what looked like a travel lodge room filming herself with a paper bag pulling out names for the ko cup which hasn't resulted in the ten's of thousands of lost fans heading back and Linda probably copped at least a grand for ten minutes work. I'm leaning towards keeping two leagues but unless a 500k plus sponsor is found, we know the current top league format isn't financially feasible personally think an eight team top league would need to be current championship standard, second division teams of seven a couple of old hands per team Rambo Lambo, Ben Barker etc, 3-4 English youngsters (under 24) and allow a couple of possible foreign rough diamonds in also ideally Aussie and USA who having no formal home league structure might stick around a while longer than the Danes and Swedes. If a second division team could be moulded to the type of 1-7 Lynn juniors had last year with say a couple of decent under 24 foreign youngsters per team might keep interest at current levels. I really hope its not all kicked until Nov plus this year with the old fingers crossed format that something might turn up.
  6. Thats him what happened to him I do remember at one point he was touted as the next danish sensation ?
  7. As an aside something was bugging me earlier today I was trying to remember the name of a danish rider from a few years back apologies details will be sketchy as this was a period when I had drifted away I wasn't really following speedway apart from the odd sky meeting. This rider would have been a promising Danish youngster it was around the time Jepsen Jenson signed for Peterborough this lad I think might have turned up on the scene a year later. I have a feeling he rode as reserve in a world team cup meeting for Denmark I thought it might be Michelson but I'm pretty sure its not he was a rider who many thought was destined for big things but seems to have disapeared but he was around that time when Jepsen jenson and Michelson were coming through. Apologies for lack of detail but I will recognise the name if anybody has a clue who i am on about it could be it is Michelson but I'm 90% sure it isn't but the name eludes me at the moment.
  8. Whoops my bad just checked I would have thought he would have earned way more out of f1 , Flagrag is normally on the money he seems to think the new owner/s are well financed and have some big sponsorship lined up
  9. I would imagine he's got a few mil the issue will be he knows how hard it is to make a profit out of a speedway track even with an established fan base and as he's at the tail end of his career I would be suprised if he's willing to risk his lifetimes earnings on Northampton. Someone did mention Mark Webber now that would be great , a fella worth hundreds of millions who would have massive sponsorship contacts he's the kind of person who if he got involved could prove the kind of game changer needed for the sport.
  10. I think everyone on here wishes them the absolute best but it can't be denied there's some very big challenges to be overcome hopefully every assistance will be given to them by the other tracks so they have a fighting chance.
  11. I'm not knocking him as a rider all i'm saying your not getting the Scott Nicholls who rode at the Cardiff gp at his peak.
  12. To be fair when Pboro won it the top league was probably the worst its ever been for quality and they did it on seven riders who had all been at the top of their game 10-15 years ago, all of them were still a decade past their best but due to such a weak league they were still good enough to get over the line
  13. Is Northampton still happening ? (Phil/Flagrag any news ?)
  14. Didn't they both have bad smashes in 2025 I think as you get older those kind of things catch up with you more than if your in your teens or twenties.
  15. A sixth team could be supported but it really needs to happen in 2027 give them a year to get prepped build interest locally etc, if the rumours of deep pockets and big sponsors are on the money then maybe Northampton could start 2027 with Becker, Wright, Woofy (maybe), as a top three, so long as the team could win 80% of the time at home that would be a start.
  16. Agreed the plus side is they have bought one of the two best supported clubs in the country agree re Reading money was p-ssed away on industrial scale.
  17. As I've mentioned many times Sudden Sam got one of his best ever results that year he was basically employed as a motivator for the riders when they were in the pits and was on about 70-80k for the privaledge probably 130-140k now that's not a dig at Sam I bet he thought this is going to like getting paid for falling off a log , but goes to show from the new owners point of view how money was p-ssed up the wall.
  18. out of interest what is the final ipswich 1-7 ?
  19. We must be due to hear something soon Flagrag is normally in the know and mentioned deep pocketed owners with big sponsorship lined up lets hope there is some positive news soon.
  20. Got to wish them all the best for 2026 hopefully they can move the club and more inportantly the top league forward I did just read this on the bbc website if only speedway could achieve 1% of the fruits that f1 have seen we would move on massively. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp8rz13gdx0o
