  1. Plus current bunch Pickering aside will be cheap as far as riders go.
  2. All made sense until you said the word "open the wallet" you have more chance of breaking into the deepest vault in the bank of england than said wallet.
  3. Deffo the best of what's available who are prepared to ride here, if they can somehow keep the crowds around the 1k-1.5k level it would be worth trying to push out back end of the season for a decent rider like Lindgren or similar when Poland finish's season.
  4. The old pit gate dodge gold standard for call off's lol
  5. wants more than bartoz by all counts
  6. He would be a good call still young and improving but we all know he won't be coming hence where looking at the scraps. Timo Lahti would be another semi decent shout but same as above minimal chance of coming over.
  7. Rumours Maria Whitaker will be at the ko cup final with an empty used pringles tub which will contain the names of the 14 riders in it. Maria will pull the riders out one by one and that will be the riding order on the night.
  8. As mentioned before Poole really should clean up they have one of the best riders in the league in Lawson , the two youngsters are both on massively false averages. Kerr is capable of anything from 2-21 in a night and loves Redcar, Cook is really now to good for the championship, Newman decent steady eddie rider, which leaves Bowes who when he's not riding r/r makes them even stronger. Just getting one future world class rider at reserve on a 2 point average for a half decent team should be enough to do the job barring injuries let alone snaffling two of them.
  9. Whats going on with Drew Kemp I though he had signed for Berwick but he's turning out for monachs on same night as Berwich riding ?
  10. So difficult as we all know Tungate is another one who isn't interested 50% of the time so you then have a possible top four of Klindt, Tungate, Lidsey and Batch who could get 40 between them one week and 12-20 the next but as ever who is there half decent to help out.
  11. Agreed Mike its another big speedway conundrum there's zero incentive to move up but equally the championship need the premiership to limp on to subsidise the wages of the legion of double uppers.
  12. I would think crowds would hold up or improve this year given they have two of the very best English youngsters at reserve both of who are banging in the points weekly.
  13. Guess we can rule it out ever happening on point one alone, unless Harry has an ace up his sleeve when did he start last Nov and so far we have had Linda Lusadi in a travel lodge room pulling team names out of what looked like a used McDonalds bag.
  14. Imagine the scenes inside the command caravan.
  15. I'm rolling in the aisles sadly but 100% spot on.
  16. Does anyone know if the new investors are coming in to shore up the speedway side of things or if they are shoring up the stadium ? I'm hoping the latter as I seem to remember if speedway had to pick up the full rent per meeting minus the dogs it was an eye watering number so hopefully if the they are helping refinance the stadium that situation has been avoided. Interested if anyone knows the score Bojangles seems close to Oxford so might have an insight.
  17. Ben Cook is a strange one has had some really good meetings and you think he's ready to step up then dire, agreed McDairmid would be a better option than Sedgeman at least he's young and might improve. I did think Ben would develop into the better rider out of the Cook brothers but now Zach looks the one who might one day sneak into the gp scene.
  18. Sedgemen as a replacement that's like having to decide to cut off your left or right foot with a rusty breadknife he won't be any better than paco, he's 7 point man in the championship and purely a trapper very rarely overtakes.
  19. They certainly have the funds to tempt someone decent over for the last third of the season if needed.
  20. They will need to get a really good ringer to stop your team someone like Beau Bailey or a dane on a par with that young lad they had lost year Nagel or whatever his name was, a 4 pointer who was closer to 8 by year end.
  21. You do get a lot of firms set up with shadow directors there was the famous story of about 500 plus companies registered at the same london mail box address that all had the same director which was some poor clueless woman who was a cleaner in the Cayman Islands.
  22. Its a real shame your lot couldn't get Beau Bailey over as in my opinion good as your two youngsters are the aussie lad is on another level.
  23. Poole should walk this league baring injuries they managed to snaffle two out of the three best british youngsters out there both on false two point averages, they have one of the top three riders in the league in Lawson, Zach Cook is going to be destined for bigger things, Kerr is ok engine room rider at this level and Newman is riding way above expectations. Like most not sure about Bowes but if he finish's with an average above four again will probably have done his job. Most leagues in the UK are won by a decent side but more importantly a side that gets someone in on a 2 or 4 point average who really is a 4 or 8 point man, Rushen I think will end up above six and Cairns above 4 if the rest avoid injury its pretty much job done. Unless one of the other sides can get one/two of the really top level young danes/swedes over I can't really look beyond the pirates.
  24. Problem is even if he would come the Artem is another who's only interested half the time as I said before in the perfect world then need Lindgren and Anders Thompson both top level riders who will always put a shift in regarless.
