Good looking side if Hagon can get his confidence back at reserve, Pederson looked good over here but was against weak opposition they would be the two question marks for me but think both would be worth the gamble. -
Agreed Cardiff started out well as did much of the Grand Prix when it was created but post covid the crowds at Cardiff were well down and the year Dan Bewley won it on a dreadful track killed it stone dead in my opinion it was so bad like going into a Michelin starred restaurant and being served up a cold back street kebab most would never be going back. I would prefer the old one off world finals back but can't see it happening so long as Poland pulls in the crowds and they have monster on board they will carry on for a while yet.

Ha ha good old R87 straight in with the boot.

Always thought he might be good as an auctioneer.

I think Woffy has dropped UK this year to foucs on GP's
-
So long as he's guided right and avoids injury Steve, Bailey will be one of the biggest names in Speedway in the next 5-10 years from what I have sen of the lad. Rushden looks really good also but personally I think Bailey is slightly ahead of him at the current stage.

Quite a few have other business that make money and they can offset some of the losses they make at the speedway end of things against tax at the successful business.
-
Line there own pockets the poor sods have empty pockets or holes in them the amount of money they must be losing season after season.
-
Shows how times have changed Bald Bloke I reckon £5k would be pushing it now days.
-
Its just the case Speedway was on a bit more of an up when Holder and Ward were about Sky were still involved and Matt had the big sponsorship deal, they are still probably one of the best run clubs in the second division but its just the state of the sport in general now meaning you would be lucky to find a buyer that would offer anything other than buttons.

Team c for me never been convinced with Sedgeman
-
No idea if true but assuming it is if Lynn could get Cooper and Jody at reserve and a decent final top five rider they should win most home meetings.
-
I agree Keith I'm merely saying the best chance was when he had Holder and Ward in their prime and he had a six figure sponsorship on the go starting with a two that was prime exit time. Now days you would really have to give a club away most are worthless, I don't know Matt Fird but he strikes me as very shrewd so I think he must have a big affection for the pirates as I'm sure with his business acumen he could make way more money putting his time into another venture than he makes out of speedway these days.
-
He would be great on a track like Workington just needs to avoid injuries and in a weakened league he should be 9-10 point man.
-
I think he would have walked years ago if that was the case when Ward and Holder were in their prime and Sky were still involved.
-
Way things are heading in the top league the flights won't be needed.
-
Agreed Ben there is indeed a place for them the trick is finding one's who will stay loyal to British Speedway over the years that why I think young Aussies and if they ever get going again young Americans are a better bet as they don't have a league structure to compete against in their home country so they should be in the UK for the majority of the time.

Good for you and your team i hope the powers that be at the Aces top table recognise the graft and effort being put in.

Halcyon days indeed Gulf, Daily Mirror and the amount of money poured in by Sunbrite in the 80's

He has done a great job but I would imagine having Guy Nichols money involved has helped plus Guy's business contacts and I would imagine when done right Ipswich generally has the best support of any team in the country this certainly seemed to be the case back in the John Berry days. I can remember regularly going down to Ippo for the bank holiday derbys when I followed Lynn mid 80's to early 90's and there was generally more than 5k there every time for that meeting. The potential is still there I can remember Buster saying when Poole came to Lynn several years back with Holder and Ward in their prime he had his best home crowd since the seventies.
