  1. Off to bed now but just wanted to add....Was I the only one who was appauled to hear Tony Millard say it'd be good news for Scott Nicholls if Lindgren was hurt in that crash with Nicki? What sort of stupid comment is that to make? I know we're all supposed to grovel at the feet of the great and mighty Nicholls but FGS, 'hoping' another rider is injured becasue it might help Nicholls is beyond dreadful! Moron!
  2. You'd think, after the serious injuries both Lukas and his brother have had, he'd be a bit less dangerous!
  3. Spot on, I agree completely! Nicki can spit his dummy all he likes but he, and only he, caused that crash!
  4. Very dull meeting - glad I SKY+'d it and watched it later. Even them I whizzed through most of the heats.
  5. What do I expect from 'TeamGB' on Thursday...in all honesty a struggle to get double figures and last place behind the russians!
  6. See now that's where we play OUR part. You ride bikes and team manage (and presumably get paid to do both these jobs) whilst WE (ie the PAYING public - the clues in the name) shell out our hard earned cash to watch the meetings. Without US there would be nowhere for you and your lot to play with your boys toys! Let's be honest you need us far more than we need you! There are plenty of other sports for people to watch but without us paying your wages you'd have to get a proper job...I hear McDonalds are recuiting! See the post above. One of these days the idiots in positions of power will realise that alienating the people who pay to get in is NOT the way to run a business. Seriously, business acumen not one of your strong points huh? When the riders start behaving like they DESERVE our support then they will stop getting stick for their performance. Too many riders beleive their own hype (Naming no names *cough* Nicholls *cough*) and just 'assume' people will support them come hell or high water....sorry but if I'm parting with money I expect to be entertained....if I'm not then I reserve the right to say so. And if you don't like it maybe you ought to find something else to do!
  7. Check out the 'before' threads though Steve...plenty of people thought Olly Allen and Simon Stead were the RIGHT choice round Coventry.
  8. I wonder if there's any bookmakers who'll give me odds on Team GB (still think that's pathetic!) actually scoring double figures on Thursday?
  9. For a 'True Brit' you seem to be doing plenty of gloating Shazzy....interesting that you're more interested in point scoring over Steve Hone than getting angry about how pathetic the Brits are !
  10. Oh come on - having Middleditch pick the riders would have made bugger all difference. Chances are he'd have picked the same 5 riders...bloody hell ALL of them are either current or past Coverntry riders so if they can't do it then who the hell else would you use. As others have said Middleditch said he wouldn't use PL riders ffs...he wouldn't even have had Woffinden in the squad....just shows how VERY little he knows. Bottom line - 'Team GB' are pathetic....a trained monkey - or even Peter Adams - could team manage them and it wouldn';t make a blind bit of difference.
  11. They'd been making 'odd' decisions throughout the meeting so it didn't really surprise me!
  12. Hmm - seems like there's a lot of that going on in this thread!!!
  13. The fact still remains that the majority of the riders in the SWC ride in all the different leagues. Yes the Swedes 'might' do better in Sweden and the Poles in Poland but if this was such a major reason why they do well, why do the Aussies do well every year? This does not excuse using artificial means to keep the scores close - get rid of the joke ( r ) and lets see the contest in it's truest form!
  14. I can only agree that Tomasz's 'team riding' was totally the highlight of the evening. I must admit to being pleasantly surprised that no numpty has tried to claim the Poles and Russians were in cahoots. It was pure class on Tomasz's part...he has to be the best rider in the world purely on the level of intelligence he shows. Can you see Pedersen or Andersen having the brains to suss out exactly how to stay in front of the Russian whilst using him like a rolling road block to stop the Aussie. All hail the GREAT Tomasz Gollob...
  15. There's no need to hold any of these meetings in neutral countries as I would hazard a guess that every rider in that meeting last night ride in the leauges in Poland (if not all then certainly all of the Poles, Aussies and Russians at least!). This means that they all have equal experience on the track and therefore the need for a 'joker' is mute! Get rd of it and let the BEST team win!
  16. Just a case of Pearson being his usual 'know-all' self. I love it when he's made to look like a pillock - even if the ref WAS wrong!!!
  17. Well as long as you don't behave like a drama queen and spit your dummy we should get on fine!!!!
  18. I'll buy him a one-way ticket if he promises to stick to what he said!!!!
  19. Don't let the door smack you on the a**e on the way out then Nicki....bye!
  20. Ding, ding ding....arguement lost I'm afraid! Time and time again some fool comes up with the 'you can't critisise if you can't do it yourself' arguement. And time and time again they make themselves look stupid! Let me ask you something...if you had the house rewired and the next time you turned the light on you got a massive electric shock....would you a) Complain that the electrician didn't do his job properly and sue him or b ) Say 'Well I couldn't have done it myself so I won't complain'? Seriously? The same applies to everything in life...Doctors who misdiagnose people, Police drivers who run down innocent pedestrians when chasing the 'bad guys', USAF fighter pilots who blow up soldiers from their own side...etc etc etc. And Rabbit is spot on...if you seriously think speedway riders ride to entertain the fans as their first and formost reason then you are VERY naive! Entertaining people comes a very poor third to the thrill of racing and earning a living doing something that gives them that thrill!
  21. People are beginning to come round to our way of thinking Sub!!!! 'Never a follower but a leader be'.......
  22. Spot on JL...I'm glad there are still SOME sensible people out there!
  23. I agreee SBB...after one incident he sat up, saw something had broken on his bike and then lay there like a prima donna footballer! Pathetic!
  24. Oh please Trees- I've always had you down as one of the more intelligent forum members...please don't say you think the 30 yard marker was for where a rider could move off his line?! This never WAS it's purpose and is one of the great speedway urban myths! The 30 yard marker was the last point where a rider could get outside assistance to get his bike going. It never had any link with riders moving off the line!!! Or were you joking?!
  25. Oh grow up! Nicki thought the whole thing was funny - you could see that from his reaction after the Bjarne incident! He's a big boy now and, as others have said, loves his 'villan' image and he really doesn't need people sticking up for him! Interesting points made about the *kerching* ref's decisions....I wonder what sort of credit he's got with the Polish version of William Hill's?
